i thought rock the casbah was a song about the middle east not letting music be played there or somthing along those lines?
the part the king told the boogie man you gotta let that raga drop is clearly about bernie |
yea but
"by order of the prophet ban that boogie sound" i always though it meant middle eastern government banning like punk or new wave music..idk i might be wrong |

I heard that Bernie kept complaining that all of the tracks on Combat Rock (while still recording it) sounded like ragas (I'm not sure what raga means ) so Joe wrote the lines: "Now the king told the boogie men/ you've got to let that raga drop." And it turned into a hit single :). |

I'm pretty sure "raga" is a Middle-Eastern-influenced song structure, or something similar.

I'd like to think he did, at least to a degree, though I doubt he was Christian.

i'm always wondering stupid things like...what is death like.it makes me sick to know we all have to die someday and that joe died so young...he could have written a lot of great songs.maybe he writes songs in heaven or something.huh whatever or when i have a decision to take "what would joe do in this situation" |
he probably believed in some obscure eastern religion, knowing him
i think he believed in nothing really.kinda like me.i don't believe in any religion, but i know there's something somewhere and i have to call it god cause i dont know what it is..but it's not the bible one.he had his own god. |
I for one think death is great.
Even with death so few people live life to the fullest, imagine how little would get done if we didn't have it. I find WWBMD? usually works |
joes my god
|
then wouldn't having a Bob Marley icon be worshipping a false idol?
|
re say that? that made no sense to me
|
becuase...its...not a Joe Strummer icon?
