Another 2005/2006 tour date:

June 18th - Loca Rock Festival - Murcia, Spain
(also on the bill: IRON MAIDEN)

jiashen 02-02-2005 03:25 AM

hello people, here's a quick question. i just bought scenes from a memory and on the last track, finally free, at 11:17 after "open your eyes nicholas - *shocked exclamation*" there's a whole length of buzzing sound all the way the end of the song at 11:59. tell me this isn't intentional.

jamesclelland 02-02-2005 09:25 AM

i recently bought train of thought, and i was blown away. are there previous cds just as good, better? i was thinking of getting six degrees of inner turbulance but it's god**** expensive.

Try Scenes from a Memory or Awake.

dUSK 02-02-2005 09:37 AM

Awake is awesome, although lately I've been preferring Train Of Thought. Also, has anyone been able to get that bonus footage stuff on ToT to work? What is it?

It is intentional! It's also the begining of "the glass prison" (1st track off 6doit)

Wow, I have never noticed that it is also the begining of "The Glass Prison", hmm.

IvortheEngineDriver 02-04-2005 07:50 PM

I bought 6 Degrees a while ago and put on the back burner and had to firmly digest I&W, Awake and ToT...wow, the Glass Prison owns my ***!

Right now, its the best DT song I have ever heard.

That's all I wanted to say...

RiceMonster 02-04-2005 07:57 PM

To be honest, I've never been a fan of the Glass Prison. I'm not sure why.

Omega Red 02-04-2005 08:42 PM

Some one send me some good dream theater. preferably with as little singing as possible, and some good bass playing solos what have you. other than that i'll take everything you have. zip it and post it at www.yousendit.com

then i'm me TIA

ytsedrummer 02-04-2005 08:55 PM

All Hail The Glass Prison!

MNbassist78 02-05-2005 12:03 AM

Yeah, I really like the riff in "The Glass Prision" with the wah, and basically the whole song, which I love.

New official DT bootlegs available

By the way, The glass prison RULES

thanks a lot, i was just about to go back to the shop to ask for another copy. would've wasted my trip. anyway SFAM is quite incredible. i actually downloaded it (shhh...), and bought it because i thought the songs were great. then i realised there's even a story woven into the songs. haha, good stuff. i like how the vocalist sings higher at parts to mimick a girl's voice (victoria). it's pretty **** funny.

Yeah, kind of like how Home's riff is.

I have been getting into dream theater lately and I have train of thought and Once in a livetime. I have heard both pull me under and under a glass moon, is the rest of the cd Images and Words worth getting?

ytsedrummer 02-05-2005 03:38 PM

ALL Dream Theater is worth getting.

If you like "Pull Me Under" and "Under a Glass Moon", then its definitely worth getting. Images and Words awsome.

ytsedrummer 02-05-2005 03:54 PM

A Change Of Seasons is pretty killer too. Its an EP.

Burdcheese 02-05-2005 04:39 PM

Images and Words is next on my DT list, though I am toying with the idea of getting the Live at Budokan (Bukodan?) DVD.

This thread is far too short.... That just struck me

The DVD is amazing, and I think it may be limited edition, although it doesn't say it on the case, or is it the CD set that is?

Anyway, I would say get the DVD, the multi-angle Instrumedley is ace, they play all kinds of stuff in it. The song selection for the DVD is ace too, although I would have liked it if Lie and The Glass Prision had been on it.

MAthiAS 02-05-2005 05:36 PM

Would you guys recamend the Budokan DVD or the Live Scenes one? I've seen the Tokyo one, but not those two.

^Dream~Theater^ 02-05-2005 05:37 PM

The budokan Dvd is their best one Imo. Images and Words live in Tokyo is very good as well. Live scenes contains Acos, so enough said about that.

Thanks for the help. My friend said he didnt like it and traded it in befoe I got to listen to it.

TheaterOfDreams 02-05-2005 09:18 PM

I thoght ToT was more of a "let's be as technically excellent as possible" type of album. There was more solos (at least I think so) it seemed to not have much soul in it. Well I have ToT SDOIT and Images and Words, what album should I get next?

nowitzki 02-05-2005 09:36 PM

Live scenes has the best set of all the DVDs but has the crappiest editing ever. budokan is a lot more professional, but you can't go wrong with scenes - SFAM in full, learning to live and a change of seasons = awesome

TheaterOfDreams - get SFAM next

This thread is languishing half way down page 3 - in an attempt to breathe new life in here, what are your 3 favourite DT songs?

Mine:
1. Endless Sacrifice
2. Pull Me Under
3. Home
