That is pretty cool, ya might aswell pick it up for a little while and play it. Strap it on whilst you are at your computer and after you have posted just play a few scales or a line, just to keep your eye in kinda thing. At least then you are practising. That is what I do when I am here :)

thats how mine is , he says im wasting my time learning wooten and hard things and that i need to learn to sit back and just flow with the song (root notes) and my band doesnt think i have a problem with glowing with the song and i think they matter more to me than he does. now i have to go to a lesson buh bye
thats nothing at all like my bass teacher, he had never even herd of wooten till i showed him some wooten songs but he is realy into prog rock and teaches me to show of
never heard of wooten??? that a little strange.

lowsound

peeted 01-13-2005 03:46 PM

well hes not realy a jazz bassist, more clasic rock, progresive rock and fretles style stuff

thelowsoundofbass 01-13-2005 03:53 PM

wooten is a slap/thechnical bassist. i had heard of him before i started playing bass.

lowsound

nisakss 01-13-2005 03:58 PM

Welll, but Wooten is not very well know.....and the fact that a bass teacher doesn't know about him doesn't take anything away form him, IMO.

peeted 01-13-2005 03:59 PM

i only herd of wooten wen i joined these forums, any way my bass teachers a good teacher and he teaches me what i want to lern so im not complaning

thelowsoundofbass 01-13-2005 04:00 PM

ture, but i was just supprised that a bass teacher had never heard of such a regarded bass player before. unless the bass teacher in question is a guitar teacher that also teachers bass.

lowsound

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:30 PM

for some reason i dont trust those kind of teachers

Lay_Down_The_Groove 01-13-2005 04:36 PM

a just bass teacher would be nice, but guitarist's/bassist/other instrunments like piano are pretty good, they can teach you theory and my old teacher could play so much stuff like wooten etc. he was amazing not sure how good new teacher is only ahd one lesson and i am learnin theory

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:37 PM

i got a 93% on my theory exam today , my teacher asked me why it wasnt better....*** hole

newbieX 01-13-2005 04:40 PM

why wasnt it better?

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:42 PM

......
"80. How many major keys are there?
A. 7
B. 12
C. 15
D. more than 15"
keep in mind my band director loves enharmonic spelling.

Omega Red 01-13-2005 04:45 PM

more than 15

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:48 PM

thats what i put , wrong.

newbieX 01-13-2005 04:48 PM

7
green bottles sitting on a wall.

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:49 PM

also wrong

peeted 01-13-2005 04:50 PM

ey? how can there be more than 15 major keys? arnt there 12, theres 12 notes so that wud make 12 major keys wudnt it?

peeted 01-13-2005 04:50 PM

im shure its 12

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 04:52 PM

12 is thr right answer. buuut realize Dbb Major is an enharmonic spelling of C and Gbbbbbbb is also c major

newbieX 01-13-2005 04:52 PM

my guess was wrong, now ill go with twelve cos the other bloke put it.

[ive been playing bass for exactly 6hours and 53 minutes]

[no not consecutively]

[yes it rules to be a proper bassist, with a bass]

Omega Red 01-13-2005 04:54 PM
also wrong
he's obviously not taking into account Lydians, Myxolydians, Melodic Major, Pentatonic Major, Neopolitan Major, Bebop Major, and Harmonic Major.

If you want to get technical on his *** you can

peeted 01-13-2005 05:05 PM

but there not other scales, there the same major key just a difrent mode, the onley difrence is the dominents and stuff, wen it comes down to it they have the same amount of sharps and flats so therefor there the same key meaning that no mater how many modes there are its still the same key

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 05:10 PM

how many keys, peeted, like i said Gbbbbbbbb and C would be the same scale on your instrument but with different note names , but it would still be considered a different scale

Left Shoe 01-13-2005 05:10 PM
