OK, I have to make a choice take a really boring trip to Mexico or stay here and endure a little ol' hurricane with my mom? This is a 5. :upset:
Go to Mexico... I hope the hurricane doesn't do too much damage, though.

Would you be leaving your mom on her own? If so, I'd stay, because family should be together during an event like that.

Leper 09-21-2005 03:17 PM

What does everyone think of Val Kilmer as Jim Morrisson in the Doors movie?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-21-2005 03:19 PM

I think he does an amazing job^

If my brother decides to go to Mexico I'm going to stay. I wouldn't want my mom to be alone like you said. It would be kinda cool to go out after the hurricane and look at the damage I've always wanted to do that. :-/
What does everyone think of Val Kilmer as Jim Morrisson in the Doors movie?
Looked a lot like him. Yep

It's not too hard to play an acid junkie, though I think he did a good job anyways,
What does everyone think of Val Kilmer as Jim Morrisson in the Doors movie?
I've never seen the movie, but my friend says its good. Is it worth a watch?

Leper 09-21-2005 03:22 PM

Ya I thought he did a really good job too. I wonder if it was hard to act drunk for so long towards the end of the movie..

Leper 09-21-2005 03:23 PM
I've never seen the movie, but my friend says its good. Is it worth a watch?
Definitely. I bought it yesterday and I hadn't even seen it before.

Broken Arrow 09-21-2005 03:30 PM

The problem with it is that it doesnt show that many parts of the good side of Jim, mostly the druged up side.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-21-2005 03:33 PM

Exactly^

robo2448 09-21-2005 03:35 PM

I've never seen it. Is it just called "The Doors Movie"?

Anyway, we've got a flurry of blues threads in the Other Music forum. Go post in them so blues will get some more interest. I don't think we need a separate blues forum, but it would be cool to get a little blues discussion going. Although a blues/rock forum would be cool since this is pretty much a metal forum.

jpj 09-21-2005 03:41 PM

It's just called The Doors.

And there is no need for a seperate rock forum, plus we'd get people arguing about what bands are metal and what bands are rock, which would just be outrageously annoying.

Illmatic 09-21-2005 03:43 PM

It's come up a zillion times, and no, we do not need a seperate rock forum.

Why would you say that? This thread has a million pages to it, and lots of Rock bands like Pink Floyd and The Who have strong followings on here. But then again, I don't really think Rock and Metal should be different genres...

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-21-2005 03:53 PM

Anyone think we're being drowned out by Metal Heads? We really need a Rock forum! The only people who feel strongly about not seprating them is the Metal Heads who listin to some Rock. We need a change!

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 03:55 PM
The problem with it is that it doesnt show that many parts of the good side of Jim, mostly the druged up side.
The drugged up is the more interesting side. That was his thing :)

It showed his musical and writing talents, though.

I'd get the **** outta there, fast
It's gonna be nasty, I think we all saw what happened to the people that stayed in New Orleans
It's your call though, I don't know why your mom would want to stay in the first place though
Viva la Mexico

NP: Yes- I've Seen All Good People
Has anyone else noticed the "Give peace a chance" chant in the background?

Yeah, we're drowned up by metal heads, but really, who cares? As long as there are Rock and Metal threads floating around that we can have some sort of discussion in, it doesn't really matter to me.

ATM 09-21-2005 04:28 PM

Is it true that Ringo was a huge alcoholic?

MBS 09-21-2005 04:36 PM
Is it true that Ringo was a huge alcoholic?
I don't think so.

It reminds me of the Hindus and the Muslims.

Hinduism isn't really one religious belief as it is a bunch of religious beliefs. "hindu" was actually a word used by the Brittish to describe people who weren't Muslims, instead of an actual singular religion. When the non-Musilm people of India were being attacked by the Muslims, they came to form a common bond in their unition against the Muslims.

Classic Rock is an umbrella term used to describe many genres in one time period. We have become united in our opposition to the Metalheads

Ok, that's a little out there

ATM 09-21-2005 04:38 PM
I don't think so.
Some guys at work were talking about the early Beatles days, and they said that Ringo used to be so drunk somedays that it wasn't even him on drums on some of the recordings.

Way to make us sound like militants.

Interesting. I think I've heard something like that. Maybe someone can check the Anthology?

Broken Arrow 09-21-2005 04:54 PM

I know that PAul played Drums on "Back in the USSR" but I don't know about the early drumming.

ATM 09-21-2005 04:55 PM

I'm not sure if it's true, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything more about that.

DeusExMachina 09-21-2005 05:17 PM

I'm fairly certain Ringo wasn't an alcoholic, but I could be wrong.

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 05:26 PM

He doesn't seem like one. He's too witty to be a heavy alcoholic.

edit: what in the hell is wrong with you guys? we're not against metal (or atleast i'm not)

Jacaranda 09-21-2005 05:28 PM

I'm not against Metal but I do dislike some ignorant people who listen to it.

Ringo doesn't seem like the type to have problems, but then again neither did Charlie Watts.

Glitterati 09-21-2005 05:34 PM
I'm fairly certain Ringo wasn't an alcoholic, but I could be wrong.
Actually....I'm not sure when, but him and his wife (the former Bond babe:eek: ) actually went to rehab over drinking problems.
