The Walkmen are massive here (London area) I don't like them, but they have an album in the charts and they seem to be everywhere!

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 11:34 AM

Ahhh...everyones gone.

The Walkmen suck...

voiceless one 01-13-2005 11:42 AM

I am being forced to sell 2 The Used tickets for Brixton on Saturday so I have some spare money....do I buy a new pickguard for my Pbass or get a Dean bass with 5 strings? Are Dean basses any good? I know nospecs on this bass.

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 11:46 AM

If you know nothing about it then why get it?

Nobbers 01-13-2005 11:55 AM

hey all, everyone i ask has never heard of them, o well, and they DO NOT suck, there ace :D

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:04 PM
If you know nothing about it then why get it?
I know nothing about it simply because I never looked at the headstock for details. It is just a passing remark - just wondering f they are good in terms of build and sustain etc. Obviously I will try it before I buy tc to see if iyt feels good. I justw anted some info on what I can expect in the time after I have brought it, like does it stay in tune well and does the neck bend? Those kinda things.

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 12:07 PM

Well... Im guessing that since its the same price as a pickguard...? Itll probably be sh.ite?

Jamie 01-13-2005 12:08 PM

wow! i want that white p-bass in the Diet Coke advert! (its where the turtle is in the art place.

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:09 PM
Well... Im guessing that since its the same price as a pickguard...? Itll probably be sh.ite?
LOL!!! The pickguard is about 15 pounds....................the Dean 5 string is 463 pounds! :)

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 12:13 PM

Meh... the Dean may be ok.

But how can you expect any answers when youre just saying 'Dean 5-string' silly boi  lol

Jamie 01-13-2005 12:17 PM

Dean Q-5 maybe?

its obviously a rubbish bass! All rubbish basses cost random amounts!

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:19 PM
Meh... the Dean may be ok.

Right, you asked for it dude! The full spec of the bass is "A Dean 5 string bass in quilted red"! Now I want a FULL evaluation and review based on my specs! ;)

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 12:21 PM

Ahem... Well... If you dont want any real help...

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:26 PM

I am only mucking around dude, but the bass does -look- good.......................

And that is obviously what everyone wants from a bass! :p

I am going to buy my black perloid pickguard for my white Pbass and probably spend about 3 weeks trying in vain to fit it on properly. My bass will probably totally fall apart to the point where the strings are removed, the neck is at a right angle to the body and the bridge is attatched via superglue to my hand :(

Ya gotta love pickguards! :)

Russ

Jamie 01-13-2005 12:26 PM

ok, go on the dean site and look for that bass!

Sounds like a Q5 to me...

Espbassor 01-13-2005 12:27 PM

I need to learn to play piano...

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:29 PM
I need to learn to play piano...
I need to learn to play bass.............

I can play piano far too well, to the point where I can play as I read a random point of music and play pieces I know with my eyes closed. *cough*Grade.8*cough*

:)

Russ

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 12:30 PM

Dont we all...

Espbassor 01-13-2005 12:31 PM

I just want to learn not only because it's a beautiful instrument, but it'd definatly help my tapping lines sound sooooo much better.

peeted 01-13-2005 12:32 PM

i only play piano to help lern theory

voiceless one 01-13-2005 12:39 PM

Jamie: It was a Q5 but I can't really justify spending 463 pounds on a bass...........I was actually thinking of spending about 458 pounds.........I will wait......*Stands waiting......twiddles thumbs*

You are from UK right? Where abouts? I live really near Laandaan! (London to posh or northern people) :)

Russ

albinoblacksheep 01-13-2005 12:39 PM

There was that kid in 7th grade at my school, and at a concert he played a really nice piece by Listz (sp)...everyone was really in awe afterwards :D

peeted 01-13-2005 12:56 PM

i havesome very good news and some very bad news

good news: BUSTED HAVE SPLIT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!

bad news:the talented one has formed an emo band called fightstar that suck...NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

voiceless one 01-13-2005 01:01 PM

I am in no way a fan of Fightstar or Carlie, but Fightstar are frightfully good. Obviously they will never get taken seriously because of the Busted monicker above their heads - but the music is very good indeed. Charlie did an interview the other day with Kerrang and they were rpping it out of him about Busted and how he is to get respect and he had some fookin class answers, really showed Kerrang how pathetic and stoopid they were, so power to Charlie yeah :)

Only time will tell if they become big or not....

Russ

albinoblacksheep 01-13-2005 01:02 PM

"Year 3000" gives me uncomfortable goosebumps when I listen to it. Eww. Uah. *shiver*

Whos the "talented one" ?

Fernandes Power 01-13-2005 01:02 PM

I dunno if they definitely have... I think theyre just 'on the verge'
