Styx, Foreigner, and Journey all suck the big one.
But lets not deny ZZ Tops coolness.
It's hard to deny it

I still go though, but I'd expect the guys in Crazyhorse are gonna get some time to record a new album, seeing as they havent realised one with him since 2003, so they probably already spent all the money they got from the last album on drugs.

jpj 09-20-2005 06:58 PM

Unless the person is a very talented guitar player, just one guy with an acoustic in a relatively large venue (which he would be playing) to me would be boring. Even, if it was Neil Young.

What about Bob Dylan

He mostly plays in smaller venues now, but in the early '60s he'd perform at big festivals with just him and his guitar. And harmonica of course.

He even plays electric songs (Cowgirl in the Sand, Ohio, The Loner) and they are all amazing.

PinkFreud 09-20-2005 07:04 PM

i love king crimson. very weird, eclectic, intelligent band.

have any of you taken aderol? i took some a while ago so i could concentrate on homework but i ended up getting really depressed. any thoughts on why?

Broken Arrow 09-20-2005 07:06 PM

I wouldn't take pills I wasn't prescribed.
Anybody got Robbie Robertsons s/t?
I had it, but I didn't care for it.

JonG 09-20-2005 07:20 PM

Pills suck. I can barely swallow the damn things in the first place. It gives me that gag reflex. Haha.

*EDIT* Any albums recommended? I seriously have no idea what to download. I've filled up my computer with about 13 gigs of albums in a couple weeks.

Did you hear him crack the Captian Beefheart joke at the end of "Heart of Gold"?

Does anyone have "Rubber Factory" by the Black Keys?

I do!

I won't be able to upload it until tomorrow, but I think some other people have it.

I need it so bad.

JonG 09-20-2005 07:29 PM

I love how there is no clapping for half of the songs, because they weren't released.

His voice is fantastic though.

ATM 09-20-2005 07:36 PM

If you guys are looking for some new music, check out The Blue Van. I'd upload it, but my internet is being horrible the past few days.

Haven't see you for a while. Did you get American Beauty? And tell me that you loved it.. :)

Glitterati 09-20-2005 08:23 PM

The Tragically Hip are great.

/late

I'm pretty psyched for Neil's new album.

pohl_56 09-20-2005 08:34 PM

Hey all. What concerts have you guys been to?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-20-2005 08:35 PM
I absolutely love the song For The Turnstiles by Neil Young.
That banjo is great and his singing is perfect too. It's probably my favorite song off On the Beach.
have any of you taken aderol? i took some a while ago so i could concentrate on homework but i ended up getting really depressed. any thoughts on why?
Yea, but I don't remember what happened at all. It was late at night it was right in the middle of my 5 days of trips and I had just finished a great trip then as soon as I got home I passed out don't know what the effects were. :-/
I wouldn't take pills I wasn't prescribed.
You'd change your mind if you knew what bars were like. ;)

This King Crimson album is very good. It's one of the few Prog albums I can actully say I enjoy. Usually when I hear a band being labeled as Prog I usually stay away from the band but this is unlike any Prog I've ever heard. Very strange eclectic sound. I will give this much more listins in the near future. :)

Glitterati 09-20-2005 08:39 PM
Hey all. What concerts have you guys been to?
Haven't been to any big ones, just local ones.

BUT, seeing Robert Plant on Thursday, and Alice Cooper next month.

In other news, Nick Drake's Pink Moon is arguably one of the most chilling albums ever.

Broken Arrow 09-20-2005 08:40 PM

So you like "On the Beach" or not?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-20-2005 08:47 PM
So you like "On the Beach" or not?
Hell YES!!! It's one of the main reasons I listin to Neil as it stands it's my favorite Young album by far. Can't beat "Revolution Blues", "Vampire Blues" or "For The Turnstiles"! I've heard Tonight's the Night is better though and did come right after this masterpeice so I'm looking to download that in the near future. :)

Broken Arrow 09-20-2005 08:52 PM

Nice, I'd say its my favourite too.

I"ll upload "Tonight's the Night" if you want? I think its a great album but I see at as a real hit or miss album, the tracks are so raw. Neil bascially didnt overdub anything, and moslty used the first takes of the songs. There are so many voices cracks it almost funny. The concept is pretty dark too, about his guitarist and roadie both dying because of Heroin.

Illmatic 09-20-2005 08:57 PM

My personal favorite Neil album is After The Gold Rush, but that's a pretty trendy pick :-\

np: Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic

That's ok I've been meaning to get my computer reformated for awhile and it could happen soon but I've been saying that for a month now. I've already downloaded too much anyway. Thanks for the offer though I really want to hear it. :-/
My personal favorite Neil album is After The Gold Rush, but that's a pretty trendy pick :-\
God forbid you be trendy!!!!
