<3! I love the song Chipped Tooth Smile because of the random break down with clapping.

Yeah, Kite Flying Society is pretty good, but City of Caterpillar pretty much owns them.

Strep sucks though.

Untitled 12-01-2005 11:42 AM

Im quite happy, i dont have any homework, but ive left my bass at college, so am a bit bored. Well neighboughs is on.

bottlerocket 12-01-2005 11:43 AM

^ You have no idea. :(

I scream in a few bands, so my throat's already on edge. I woke up yesterday morning and my throat felt as if it were on fire. I decided to go to school anyway, since I'm in a crapload of tough classes and can't really afford to miss any. I got there and my throat hurt too bad, so I went to the nurse after first period to grab some throat drops. She asked to see my throat, and when she did, she was like, "Oh God, you can't be here...go home. That looks like strep."

I'm waiting for the results to come in, but holy crap, does my throat hurt.

I don't even scream from my throat, really...I use my gut. I sound like Dave from Fear Before the March of Flames meets Dallas from (old) Underoath. I got recordings...

Yeah, I was close. :p

I have a Fender J with DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups and a Schecter Stiletto Elite 5 (I think you knew that, though)...oh man, they're both amazing basses. The hot output on my J is unparalleled, and the Schecter is just overall sexy sounding. :D

/bans ;)

What kinda guitar do you have? I have a Squier Strat. It's a piece of crap, but it's cool to write simple melodies on for my bands and stuff. I try to contribute as much to songwriting as possible. Because I scream, I write all the lyrics (with their input on them, of course), but I try to come up with riffs and basslines and stuff, too.
Yeah, lets form all our opinions on statistics that are conjured up from a census that doesn't actually contain even half of the actual population of the country. Statistics are worthless IMO.
What statistics are you talking about? I'm talking about the ones that deal with direct parallels between driving drunk and accidents. Or drug abuse and violence. (Not saying you abuse them, but you said there's no correlation between drugs and being irresponsible, and I disagree)
Also, I'm not sure where you derive your definition of the term 'hypocrisy', but I fail to see how it's hypocritical to be able to say, "Yeah, I did morphine (as an example) and I can say it's definitely not something worth trying twice and I wouldn't recommend doing it once because these are the effects I experienced.." I consider than an informed, valuable opinion. If someone wants to still try said item anyway, that's their choice because like I said, there's a first time for everything. Everyone has a different experience.
I'd say it's hypocritical to try something out, and then criticize other people for doing it. Sure you can rationalize that it was "just an experiment" but that doesn't in my mind negate the fact that you still did it. I understand your point, don't get me wrong. If someone who has experience with it tells me not to do it I'm more liekly to listen, but that doesn't mean no one else has the right to tell me I shouldn't do something. If it did our law system wouldn't work.
Just because someone died from driving drunk, does that mean I'm going to? Maybe, maybe not. Most likely not, since I'm a careful driver anyway. Does that mean I should have driven drunk? Of course not, but at least now I can say I know what it's like to perform that activity under those conditions. Driving under adverse conditions just makes you a better driver in the long run anyway. You achieve your best after performing at your worst.
See, this is where I have the biggest problem. You assume that you're a good driver (and maybe you are maybe you aren't I have no basis to judge) but in so doing you basically cast off any insecurities of driving drunk. People get in more accidents drunk. It's a fact. I am all for learning experiences, but not when you're risking learning with other people's lives in the balance as well. It doesn't mean you will get in an accident, but is there really a valid reason to risk it? No.
Having been in the army, I've been around plenty of people that could be considered murderers. A lot of them, however, came away from their situations with a new sense of value towards the lives of others having taken lives themselves. Shooting heroin? No thanks, I'm squeamish around needles. However, I've taken chronic laced with heroin before so I have an idea of the effects. Also, I take a synthetic opiate called Methadone on occassion which has the same effects of heroin and speed anyway so I have an understanding and respect for the effects brought on by those narcotics. Knowing what I know from my experience helps me understand people that actually have problems with those substances to better deal with/help them later on.
A lot of people have a line drawn between murderers and killers. But I am aware that after leaving the army many people are more fond of life than ever. But that only strengthens my point I think. People know not to kill, and then after they do so they regret it even more. So should they have even done it in the first place? I'm glad you know first hand how a drug affects you.
I'm not euphemising anything, I'm stating facts. I know the effects first-hand, so I have an informed opinion. There's nothing hypocritical about that.
Man, you're making yourself out to be some sort of a hero. You "put [yourself] on the line" to try these new things. That's total BS. You might not be a bad person, but you're certainly not a hero for it either.
I didn't plan on it. Apparently when you do something once it becomes a chronic issue necessary of immediate treatment and/or retribution. At least that's what a lot of these little 14-year old kids seem to think. Well, Vince isn't 14, but he acts like it sometimes with his holier-than-thou judgemental bs.
Of course not. Most if not all of my friends have done weed and even harder stuff. Some are habitual users. They're still my friends. I mean, I'd love if they didn't do it but in the end it is their choice and I'm not going to deny them the right to make their own choices. You're acting like I told you doing all these drugs is gonna get you sent to hell or something. I'm not, I'm just saying the "try everything once" mentality is a really stupid mentality. I'm not a good person either and I know that so I don't get where you think I'm acting like I'm better than you. I just don't approve of the rhetoric you spew.

Bad Blood 12-01-2005 12:56 PM

Yeah, that's true.
