hey all. It's -42 here in calgary
I'm guessing that's Farenheit...

Wintermute 01-12-2005 01:51 PM

Joe, stop using IE and it'll all be well. I only see a single small banner ad at the top of the page. And nothing generates sound.

JoeDaddio 01-12-2005 01:52 PM

Alright. I've just been feverishly researching amps. At the end of this month, or early next month, I'll be getting one. I thought I was dead set on the Mesa 400+, but then I saw the EA Iamp 800, and I'm looking for a dealer nearby where I can try one out. I'll be going to a few places today after I finish up my laundry to see if I can't find one.

What do you use? It's seriously that Duck Hunt ad and those pop-ups that aren't really pop ups, that appear on the actual page, and if you X them out, it stops the page from fully loading.
I'm guessing that's Farenheit...
Some kid on my bus tried to tell me that Mark Hoppus was more technically gifted than Victor Wooten.

Did you throw him off said bus?

BassVirtuoso 01-12-2005 02:05 PM

It was at my stop, so I tried to hold in my laughter.

Dude, that is VERY ****ing cold.
It was at my stop, so I tried to hold in my laughter.
I'd bet good money he'd never heard anything by Wooten, or even OF Wooten, and he was just being stubborn and dense.

TheIdiotBox 01-12-2005 02:08 PM

Let's hope for his sake that he was.

Wintermute 01-12-2005 02:11 PM

It's like if you ask a really small kid "What's bigger, 10, or a thousand?"
They've never heard of this 'thousand' thing, but they know ten is a really big number!

TheIdiotBox 01-12-2005 02:14 PM

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

JoeDaddio 01-12-2005 02:15 PM

I just downloadeed Foxfire... let's hope this works out better than IE.

joe

JoeDaddio 01-12-2005 02:16 PM

So far so good.... so far....

joe

TheIdiotBox 01-12-2005 02:17 PM

Well, looks like I'd better be off if I'm going to finish this essay before tomorrow morning (which I had originally planned on, but which is now looking more and more unlikely). Laters, guys.

Foxfire seems to be working out great. I've been waiting a long time to say it, so.. "Goodbye, Internet Explorer!"

joe

bottlerocket 01-12-2005 02:38 PM

Joe, to be 100% sure you got rid of the popups, unintall IE.

Spyware = IE parasites. If you uninstall it, you'll barely get any spyware popups.

bottlerocket 01-12-2005 02:39 PM

If you don't know how to uninstall IE, I'll tell you.

newbieX 01-12-2005 02:40 PM

£169, which was great.

i got the amp yesterday and it was only £58 i mean value.

JoeDaddio 01-12-2005 02:41 PM

Popups weren't really the problem. I've got a firewall that tells me every time something is trying to install. It was the **** duck hunt ad and those pop-ups that weren't really like pop ups. I didn't get pop ups anywhere else but here on MX, and it made me not want to come here.

Is it under "Microsoft IE," not just IE or IE host?

Check under Microsoft.

Wintermute 01-12-2005 02:47 PM

DO NOT UNINSTALL IE

It's an integral part of Windows. The odds are, you will not be able to, as Windows will not function properly without it. The thing you browse your own files with is part of IE, and MSN depends on it to work.
