It does.

Lord Abortion 12-28-2005 04:21 PM

The argument to get all drugs legalised actually has some good sides.
Illegal drug trafficing funds most other crime.
Cut that funding out and you would cut crime.
Plus the money raised from taxing it would fund hospitals and proper reserch so that people can use drugs in a clean and safe environment if they so wish.

Stoic 12-28-2005 04:23 PM

^well said. Plus in such condition people eventually give it up. See what happens in Holland with marijuana for example
what time do you yourself think you'll wake up at?
11:00 or so...I really must study though. Thankfully I finished a book today :)

Plus...with the extra money raised by legalising it, governments would actually be able to cut other tax...imagine that.

Sorry, there's no possible justification for making heroin, cocaine, and crack legal.

That's what I think as well. Even though I myself don't do any kind of drugs, I think America and other nations could boost the economy.
But lots of people would die!
Lots of people die from alcohol, and cigarettes, as well.

EDIT- Crap, I just realized that, that my post has already been said.

Would any more than normal?

Ray- I don't agree with this personally, just these are the arguments put forward by the people who do.

Anyone who has read High Society by Ben Elton knows about it.

think they don't know that?

Mustainekilsemos 12-28-2005 04:35 PM

I still don't think that we should legalize drugs. Its more of a moral thing for me though not logical.

Illmatic 12-28-2005 04:36 PM

I don't know about crack, but I do know that heroin and cocaine can kill you after using it just once. So you can point fingers at how alcohol and tobacco can kill you, but as Jon Stewart said, "I've never seen anyone smoke one cigarette, then immediately vomit and die".

Bazarov 12-28-2005 04:37 PM
think they don't know that?
I'm pretty sure they know that. But he said, that lots of people would die if heroin or other drugs was legalized. I'm just saying that alcohol is legal, yet people die from liver failure, liver cancer, drunk driving probably everyday from alcohol. And people die every day from cigs as well.

That is true.

And I couldn't imagine any government having the balls to pass it.
certainly in this country

Yeh, The link has expired, sorry.

Basically he went to a government, in the UK, I forget which one, and told them to legalise Heroin.

Indeed, but I guess with Cigs and booze, the difference is you die a slow death :p

The whole thing is quite subjective actually since today's illegal drugs were being used in every day life in older times. Coke Cola for example used to have cocaine as the main ingredient.

Mustainekilsemos 12-28-2005 04:44 PM

Therefore giving you more time to get off them. Also, Crack, Cocaine and Heroin are all much, much, much more addictive than cigs and alchohol. So, if it were to be legalised, stupid kids would get hold of it, and smoke, snort and stab themselves to death with it all. I'd also rather see kids smoking at school, than injecting.

Yeah, I forget which world war, but in one of them the soldiers where give meth, to keep them active while out in the fields, but soon stopped when soldiers started stealing the meth supplies.

If I can find that article, I'll post it. It was kind of interesting.

I repeat my last point.

Drinking and smoking can be controlled. Heroin and cocaine cannot.

I read it, you are right. I realize that those drugs are highly addictive and cause people to do crazy thing things to get their fix, I don't really think that heroin should be legalized, I was thinking more a long the lines when it comes to legalizing drugs, marijuana.
