rap without multi-syllabic rhymes and punchlines shouldn't be considered music

unless it's Eazy or the Ruthless family

Tits McGee 09-21-2009 11:25 PM

it's all about Paid In Full for best 80's album

kingsoby1 09-22-2009 08:33 AM

Brother Ali's free show last night was whitefest 2009. I took a pic of the crowd; i'll circle the one black guy and post it when i get that roll developed. The dancing was atrocious... you'd have thought it was a hippy dippy jam rock show: lots of knee bending and mechanical arm swaying.

illmitch 09-22-2009 01:54 PM

for some reason this revelation does not surprise me

Tits McGee 09-22-2009 01:57 PM
he's a pretty solid rapper in terms of his internal rhymes and w/e, he just has really stupid lyrics that people think are incredible because they make absurd claims about the government and conspiracy theories
this tbh

kingsoby1 09-22-2009 01:57 PM

yeah me either... but it's a sobering reality check.

iarescientists 09-22-2009 07:52 PM

i remember seeing a picture of a rza concert where there was only like 3 black people in the crowd

Jaundice 09-22-2009 08:04 PM

black people dont listen to hipster music, surprise surprise

SgtBaker 09-22-2009 08:47 PM

There was a large number of african-americans at the De La Soul concert. Most of them were older though. The black ladies in front of my friends and I were bitches

Jaundice 09-22-2009 09:13 PM

lots of white people at the lil wayne concert i went to

SgtBaker 09-22-2009 09:55 PM

did you get a free ticket or soemthing

Jaundice 09-22-2009 09:57 PM

i did actually, why?

niobium 09-22-2009 10:18 PM

i turned a guy onto ethiopium today

he;s white as hell

Glitterati 09-23-2009 01:32 AM

Does anyone like Del Tha Funkee Homosapien?

Jaundice 09-23-2009 01:34 AM

I personally don't. He does a nice verse on that Gorillaz song, tho.

Rams 09-23-2009 10:47 AM

ITT, elitist fags.
Does anyone like Del Tha Funkee Homosapien?
i've never checked out his non-Deltron stuff tbh. but his stuff on that persona is pretty solid

RoshanC 09-23-2009 01:00 PM

Del's great, but Both Sides Of the Brain is his only top notch album apart from Deltron. The new 3030 album better be out soon, ive been waiting 3 years for it

Rams 09-23-2009 08:28 PM

Future Development is better than Both Sides of the Brain and I Wish My Brother George Was Here is funky as hell. His lyrics are kind of garbage, but he has a nice flow and usually has some nice west coast beats.

Jaundice 09-25-2009 01:48 AM

you're an admin, you don't have to ask

illmitch 09-25-2009 01:49 AM

i was gonna do the next one but i dunno if i should just make the thread myself

or when it should be made

Jaundice 09-25-2009 01:50 AM

i'mma do one on Carter 3

that was a joke

illmitch 09-25-2009 01:51 AM

i could see a cotm on maybe dedication 2 or da drought 3

i was planning on doing UGK - Ridin Dirty or a Z-Ro album

Jaundice 09-25-2009 01:53 AM

any one that tries to do dedication or drought would be assassinated

some one could get away with Tha Block Is Hot tho

pixiesfanyo 09-25-2009 03:31 AM
kingsoby1 / pixiesfanyo,

would you mind if I did a CotM some time soon? Just thought I'd ask as it seems to be your thing.
not at all. i think both me and soby tried to get other people to get into it and they never did..

mitch just post your thing next wednesday and i'll make sure it gets sticked.

pixiesfanyo 09-25-2009 04:03 AM

totally. i think soby and i were just not trying to do HUGE albums like Straight Outta Compton or Madvillainy or King or Reasonable Doubt. try to stick to stuff that at least some of us haven't heard..

illmitch 09-25-2009 10:19 AM

awesome, thanks man!

Rams 09-25-2009 04:34 PM

Do a CotM on something old and awesome like Stetsasonic or Mr. Magic.

Tits McGee 09-25-2009 04:58 PM

I would really like to do a Cotm at some point, but most of the stuff I've heard stuff I've heard is pretty well known around these parts.

SgtBaker 09-26-2009 03:26 PM
i was planning on doing UGK - Ridin Dirty or a Z-Ro album
I don't have any Z-Ro albums bt as I've said in the otehr thread, Ridin' Dirty is amazing. So good all the way through. I think it'd be a good choice.

Interstate 09-26-2009 03:29 PM

Kano's new song Rock N Roller is a guilty pleasure of mine. Very standard dance beat and pretty simple lyrics but I still like it.

Jaundice 09-28-2009 05:47 PM

what Gucci Mane release should i start with

kingsoby1 09-28-2009 06:15 PM

any of them they're all the same. all are like 3-3.5/5 material.

illmitch 09-29-2009 01:46 PM

writing on the wall is one of my favorites

pixiesfanyo 09-29-2009 02:17 PM

mitch if you want to do your CoTM feel free.

illmitch 09-29-2009 07:35 PM

JonG 09-30-2009 01:44 AM
