Hi, AH.

Glad to see someone else use MusicMatch.

CemetaryGates: "Keep Ya Head Up" by 2Pac?

ATM 05-02-2005 04:23 PM

AH, Iai is using a second account because he wants to hit 10,000 at the same time as Mozza. His other account is at 9,999.

/ashamed I know all of this

CemetaryGates9 05-02-2005 04:25 PM

The other night I was at Picadiily. There was some 65 year old guy listening to a cd player. When he took out the cd, I looked at it and couldn't tell what it was. That'd be funny if he pulled out Pantera or something, I thought. He puts the Cd's he holding back in the case and pulls out Cowboys From Hell. That freaked me the hell out.

Also, I turned 13 yesterday. Comments?

Arucard 05-02-2005 04:49 PM

You still think that its hardcore to listen to Pantera when your 65, so i think you need to wait for another year.

ATM 05-02-2005 04:54 PM

CemetaryGates9 05-02-2005 04:57 PM

Its fine, but not as cool as mine.

Permanent Solution 05-02-2005 05:39 PM

I just sold back some useless textbooks. In exchange I now have Calculating Infinity and tickets to the blood brothers as well as DEP :D

lunch998 05-02-2005 05:42 PM
Ill matic, you wouldn't happen to know who sings that song that goes B-A-B-Y-M-A-M-A, this goes out to all my baby mommas, dropping off yo kids at ya momas?
Isn't it that Fantasia girl who won American Idol last year?

Edit: Nevermind, you knew that already. I think that song sucks, she says there should be a day celebrating Baby's Mamas. Isn't that called Mother's Day?

Wednesday. Should be a good show, I've only heard BPIB, but it's a good album. Yeah, I keep all my useful textbooks, but the stuff I didn't open except to do assignments...yeah, no reason to keep them.

Six Foot Revolver 05-02-2005 06:27 PM

Does anyone have Microsoft Visual Basic 6 which they called zip and YSI for me please?

Jom 05-02-2005 06:43 PM

ATTN: Ali

When you uploaded Ultravisitor in Other Music, I was able to get a hold of it at uni before I came home to the slow connection. So, I figured, "Hey, let's put it to CD so I can take it wherever."

It doesn't fit on a whole CD !

Was it a double-disc album or something?

munky_magik 05-02-2005 06:49 PM

Uh...No, it was one disc. That said disc is 79:49 long, though, and me ripping it at about 128kbps wouldn'tve helped file sizes.

I also uploaded some more stuff for the YSI thread so you can hopefully shorten the thread.

And also, I'm going to pass out/go to bed. 'Night all

Riva 05-02-2005 07:15 PM

Well, the Mayhem thread has been updated, if anyone wishes to read through it. I shall be updating throughout today. So enjoy. :)

Night, Ali.

Which band is this, Jim?

ATM 05-02-2005 09:19 PM

Im curious as well. Good job with the Mayhem thread, Riva.

You should interview me next week :)

It was Squarepusher. By the way, I left you a message in the YSI thread, but in case you catch this first: no worries about not having to update. Don't waste your time if there are two new requests. The rest of the message can be found there and such.

Illmatic 05-02-2005 09:45 PM

You know, I have reached the conclusion that Ernest Hemingway is the best writer ever.

He didn't waste time writing about touchy-feely things. He wrote about war. And fishing.

He didn't waste time with big words and fancy sentence structure. His writing is simple and bold.

Permanent Solution 05-02-2005 09:52 PM

Hemingway is overrated. I can't say I like him much at all. In fact...I can say I didn't like him as I never bothered finishing his book.

Illmatic 05-02-2005 09:53 PM

Different folks for different folks.

I admire his writing style, for one.

What authors do you like?

i am the robots 05-02-2005 09:55 PM

Illmatic's question wasn't targeted at me, but:

R.A. Salvatore, Terry Brooks, Margaret Weiss, J.R.R. Tolkien, David Eddings

I'm out, by thread

Permanent Solution 05-02-2005 09:56 PM

Hmm...Tolkein, Shelley, Salinger... I don't know, I don't really look at author when I read a book, I rarely read multiple books by the same author.

Illmatic 05-02-2005 09:59 PM

I can't stand J.R.R. Tolkien or Lord of the Rings :-\

Eh, fantasy isn't for everyone. I find most people love him or hate him, so that's a typical response.
Eh, fantasy isn't for everyone. I find most people love him or hate him, so that's a typical response.
Agreed. I really like LOTR, and the movies are incredible.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-02-2005 10:25 PM

They just leave you hanging at the end though. I don't like that. I mean..after this big giant huge war, they just up and leave. Right.
They just leave you hanging at the end though. I don't like that. I mean..after this big giant huge war, they just up and leave. Right.
The ending did seem rushed. But overall, I was happy with how the movies turned out.

Rothmans 05-02-2005 10:27 PM

I hated LOTR im a big fan of fantasy books but I didnt see what the fuss was about LOTR. The films though werent as good as the books.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-02-2005 10:29 PM

Who's IBC?

Cain 05-02-2005 10:51 PM
The ending did seem rushed. But overall, I was happy with how the movies turned out.
One funny detail in the commentaries are the cast and crew's reactions to the widespread complaints about the "too many endings" phenomenon in Return of the King...they laugh about it like it's some sort of thing they would have tweaked given the chance, or some sort of oversight and a silly mistake that they freely acknowledge, which is kind of refreshing, being a person like me who has personally seen Michael Moore defend the choices he's made in his work like some ego-bruised kid.

Riva 05-02-2005 11:00 PM

I can only add to this that my favourite author, of any genre, is David Eddings.

*points to username*

Also, Raymond E. Fiest, J.R.R Tolkien, Matthew Reilly, Katherine Kerr, Robert Ludlum, Michael Chricton, and Anne MacCaffrey.

Also, if you enjoyed LOTR, you have to read the Silmilarion, listen to Blind Guardian's "Nightfall In Middle-Earth" which I found out relates to the book, then re-read the Silmilarion. Honestly, that book is amazing.

Ramsey 05-02-2005 11:04 PM

Wassup guys, I haven't been posting in here as of late...

......so i'm totally redeeming myself with a new song! http://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0IZ1FRLBR49S43F19873I5448P

^^ OPINIONS! (this might be my contest entry, i'm not sure yet)

Cain 05-02-2005 11:06 PM

The Silmarillion is ok, but Chris Tolkein is nowhere near as skilled at cogently and artistically writing about very complex worlds and characters as his father, even with his father's notes to work from.

And I've tried Blind Guardian, but ehhh...I'm unsure. They're a side of Power Metal that's less operatic than it is just one great big bellow, and there IS a difference I think.

Not sure, though. Riva, If you like, you can upload me that album here or a representative song in the YSI thread. I'd appreciate the exposure. :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-02-2005 11:06 PM

I think I'd say that my favorite book is Animal Farm. George Orwell is another one of those guys that, like Ray said, can write an amazing peice of literature without using overly complex sentences, too large of vocabulary, etc...I realized how amazing of a book when in my english class, we read Animal Farm, and in my history class, we were studying the whole Russian Revolution and what not.
