More grammy news! Not only is Paul up for four grammies (he has 13 grammies already), but for the first time Paul's gonna be playing at the grammys! I really hope he doesn't play fine line but Im thinking he is, because it's his lastest song. The only other hope is Jenny Wren. I would really prefer Jenny Wren!

Oh yeah, and the grammys are wednesday.
You didn't hear? Dave Chapelle isn't making a new season. I heard they've got enough material to make about 3 new episodes and they're planning on airing them eventually, but after that it's done.
No, they did originally because he left in the middle of recording to go to South Africa for a spiritual awakening or whatever because he got sick of all the fame and pressure, but now he's back and they finished the season :)

We listened to Sgt. Pepper's in its entirety in Art I today
Tera Hodges - All Headline News Staff Writer

Chicago, IL (AHN) - Stress is what caused Dave Chappelle to disappear for two weeks right after signing a $50-million deal.

In the interview, which airs Friday on Oprah, Chappelle confronts rumors he was crazy or on drugs when he fled to South Africa for two weeks in the middle of production, leaving the public to wonder, where in the world is Dave Chappelle.

Though Chappelle eventually returned to the states, Chappelle is not currently working on "The Dave Chapelle" show. However, he is currently doing standup comedy.
He's not making a new season...sorry to tell you.

He is. They already have the preview out for it on Comedy Central.

Here's a quote of his from the same site:
"I want to restructure the deal…and half the DVD revenue goes back to the people that we see fit, I think I'd be more than willing to finish with where we started...I'm not mad at anybody."

That's awesome news! When are they going to start airing the new season?

I'm not really sure, but you have to check out the preview on Comedy Central.com, it's hilarious so far.

And I forgot we were in the Beatles thread....

So I was listening to Abbey Road today, and I still really like the solos on "The End". It's cool how they all got to do one.

Hmm I've never really noticed that before. I'm listening to it right now and I see what you mean. But every other time I listen to Abbey Road, I go into a sort of trance listening from Mean Mr. Mustard to Her Majesty because the songs kind of blend in with one another, so the finer points of each song are usually lost on me.

Its a flowing album....

Magical_Mystery_Tour 02-08-2006 12:30 AM

From the Abbey Medly, I really like You Never Give me Your money. That is a great song.

This shouldn't even be said but Something pwns. :)

Am I the only one who thinks Her Majesty shouldn't have been on that album, it made perfect sense to make the song called...THE END...the end, and have it say "And in the end the love you take, is equal to the love you make" they could have still had Her Majesty but, make it more of a secret song, like let the transition last longer so it feels like an actual hidden song.

gmoneyguy 02-08-2006 05:42 PM

I am ripping my Bealtes collection onto my computer. So far WMP is ripping them rather quickly so I shouldn' have to spend I alot of time ripping them.

Well it would also make sense to have Abbey Road be the final album as it was intended, so that The End would in fact be the end within the context. Things don't always go as planned.

Let It Be wasn't really planned. It was supposed to be like a documentary.

And Your Thread Can Thread GENIUS

I like Her Majesty. I think The End was kind of a grand ending song, and by following it with a short, cheeky filler song, The Beatles showed that they were still just trying to have fun, even if it was over.

Her Majesty was supposed to go between "Polythene Pam" and "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" hence the unexplained chord at the beginning. Why it is at the end, I do not know.

rockinbass17 02-08-2006 06:39 PM

Because they like to surprise people.

MBS 02-08-2006 06:42 PM
Because they like to surprise people.
That's not logical though. They wanted "The End" to be the last song on the record.

robo2448 02-08-2006 08:17 PM

Paul rocked. I loved seeing him do Helter Skelter. He can still rock. I wish I could see him live.

His drummer seriously scares me though. He's intense.

BigTrav415 02-08-2006 09:23 PM

Let It Be was in production before Abbey Road, but they got stalled with all the conflict and stuff, so they decided to "make an album like they used to", and started Abbey Road.

I didn't watch the grammies. I'll catch it on Google Vid :)

123 during the "YAAAAA" parts in Helter he was going insane. Fun(ny) to watch though. He looks like he could just rip apart the drums.
I liked that first song he sang from his new album I guess I'll have to check it out.

_RusH_ 02-08-2006 11:15 PM

There is another thread about this elsewhere...but I`ll say it here. Paul should not have rapped Yesterday. Simple as that.:smash:
That's not logical though. They wanted "The End" to be the last song on the record.
Actually its quite logical....the Beatles were very comical and cheeky, especially Lennon.

El_Goodo 02-08-2006 11:28 PM

His grammy performance was awesome, I wasn't to happy with fine line. I didn't want him to play it, it's my least favourite song off the new album. But that's because the rest of the album sound's like Abbey Road material.

But then when they played Helter Skelter it was awesome, his vocals were awesome, and he showed at 63 (or is it 64 now?) that he can still rock harder than a lot of people. And he proved he truly has a great voice, that is still in great condition.

I believe its 63.

Edit: Born: June 18, 1942

El_Goodo 02-08-2006 11:34 PM

Yeah I knew he was turning 64 this year, just didn't know when. Cause everyone's talking about the song "When Im 64"

Yeah I think I'm going to have to pick up his new album as well. Hopefully I can find it for a good price somewhere.

_RusH_ 02-09-2006 12:22 AM

I think Paul gave enough hints that when he is 64 he will not be around.

Seems he does not like the questions about the "64" thing..and will probably take a holiday.

I only saw part of Paul's grammy performance, where he plays Helter Skelter. It was awesome.

magicbus 02-09-2006 09:37 AM

Hopefully I can catch a video of Paul on the interweb somewhere. I forgot the Grammy's were on yesterday.

_RusH_ 02-09-2006 08:43 PM
What did he say about it?
He did a TV interview last year during the tour. I`m vague on it really. The question about him turning 64 in 2006 got him saying that he might not be around...or taking some time off.

youtube has both the Helter Skelter peformance, and the Yesterday performance. But no one's seemed to bother with fine line.

Magical_Mystery_Tour 02-10-2006 01:17 PM

When Paul played Helter Skelter I was amazed. Thats always been one of my favourite songs by them, and I was not expecting him to play it. He still does it good.
Paul McCartney is a sore loser !
London: Beatles legend Paul McCartney was reportedly so furious at failing to win the Grammy for Best Album, that he stormed out of the ceremony.

McCartney had high hopes for Chaos And Creation In The Back Yard, but lost out to U2’s How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.

An insider told how he snubbed the Irish band by refusing to congratulate them.

“The ex-Beatle got up and left with his very arrogant bodyguard. They weren’t exactly subtle about it, either,” Fox newsman Roger Friedman, was quoted by The Sun,as saying.

“He walked right past Sting without saying hello,” he added.
That doesn't sound like Paul at all.

But he shouldn't have lost to U2 anyway...they are pretty bad.

I would be pissed too if my album lost to U2's album which just barely made this year's cut off.
