Yes, I've heard Thundergods and Burn Your Crosses. Top notch songs.

Stoic 06-17-2006 05:57 AM

**Thunderstorm ;)

Good, good Jason. You should get the entire thing though. All of you. First for Fight>>>Primo Victoria in my opinion since the riffage is more complex and the song writing more tight.

MetalOz 06-17-2006 06:21 AM
I check out Sabaton's Primo Victoria today, and it's not too bad. I could do without the keyboards, though.

I've also been listening to Ample Destruction alot lately. \m/

Such a great album.
Ample Destructioon is one of my all time favorites from the 80s. I love the trade offs during the sort of mellow bit on Harder Than Steel That album was before it's time...

Shattered_Future 06-17-2006 07:51 AM

Thundergods rules. That riff in the beginning is excellent.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-17-2006 07:59 AM

Warfare is so awesome.

Steerpike 06-17-2006 08:35 AM

I have most of the tracks off of the album since I can't get my hands on the real thing. Masters of the World grew on me pretty quickly.

I still enjoy Primo Victoria more though as Joakim's vocals were at their best and the bigger budget for production gave it a much stronger sound.

Lord Abortion 06-17-2006 03:19 PM

I like the songs I got from FFF, but not quite as much as the Primo ones... Burn your crosses is the best of them though. Again, it shows how they are masterful at making a great chorus.

ollie_poole 06-17-2006 04:25 PM
Ok, so im goin to write up a list of albums to get... Would you be able to give me some ideas for more?

So far I have:
sonata arctica - Silence
Helloween - Kot7K part II
Dragonforce - Inhumane rampage
Gamma Ray-Powerplant
Lost Horizon - A Flame To The Ground Beneath
Sabaton - Primo Victoria
Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King
Blind Guardian - Nightfall In Middle-Earth
Tarot - Stigmata
Galloglass - Legends From Now And Nevermore
Running Wild - Black Hand Inn
Edguy - Hellfire club
Kamelot!!!! Their album Epica is amazing. And yes I realise you probably posted this many months ago

And also Running Wild and I would recommend their album Port Royal, although Black Hand Inn is very good

You could also have Stratovarius. Their best song is Black Diamond

i am the robots 06-17-2006 07:31 PM

Out of curiousity, I'd like to inquire with you, oh sages of power metal, what a good name for a hero would be?

A hero who battles a dark sorcerer to save the dragon young.

Shattered_Future 06-17-2006 08:53 PM

Frank Sinatra.

Or (seriously), Aiden Hopesfall?

EDIT: Man, I never knew how much stuff Nightwish actually released...stupid non US distribution. *grumble*

Riva 06-17-2006 11:14 PM

Dravinaar.

EDIT: Too evil sounding.

Tamaris.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-18-2006 07:52 AM

So I love Hall Of The Mountain King, what Savatage album should I get next?

Stoic 06-18-2006 08:16 AM
LORD To Support QUEENSRŸCHE In Australia
Well done Timmy :D \m/

Lord Tim 06-18-2006 11:02 AM

You guys have no idea how happy I am about this!! :D

Apocalyptic Raids 06-18-2006 11:09 AM

Since you covered Queen Of The Reich one would assume you are all gigantic Queensryche fans. :D

It's an awesome song.

Lord Tim 06-18-2006 12:10 PM

Rage For Order was the first metal album I ever bought and I've been a massive QR fan since I was 16. Now I'm sharing a stage with them.

*changes soiled pants again for the 458,764th time today*

:D :D :D

Lord Abortion 06-18-2006 01:31 PM

That's going to be really cool. Geoff Tate is brilliant.
He sounds pretty much as close to Bruce Dickinson you can get without actually stealing his genes in some sort of sick experiment, so it bodes well for a man's talent.

Riva 06-18-2006 07:02 PM
So I love Hall Of The Mountain King, what Savatage album should I get next?
The Wake Of Magellan definitely.
You guys have no idea how happy I am about this!! :D
Haha, awesome news. Congratulations.

Deth 06-18-2006 08:54 PM

Queensryche were good when I saw them open for Priest.

Hey, Dungeon should open for Priest, now there's a tour.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-18-2006 09:59 PM
Hey, Dungeon should open for Priest, now there's a tour.
Lord* :p

and yes, that would be a fine tour.

I got some Sanctuary yesterday, it's good stuff.

Lord Tim 06-18-2006 10:02 PM

There's 2 bands I want to tour with before I die, and that's Maiden and Priest.

Don't think for a second we're not doing everything we can to make that happen in the next few years! HAHA!

Deth 06-18-2006 10:05 PM

I don't see why not really. Maybe not in the US because your distribution sucks (hint hint), but Europe or Aussieland, why not?

Apocalyptic Raids 06-18-2006 10:07 PM

I could see it happening in Aus.

I need to see Priest and Maiden before I die. They are getting old, and this worries me :-\

Lord Tim 06-19-2006 12:16 AM
I don't see why not really. Maybe not in the US because your distribution sucks (hint hint), but Europe or Aussieland, why not?
Yes, well, we're aware of our... "good" distro in the US, and let's just say steps are being taken for LORD not to suffer the same kind of fate as Dungeon did (unfortunately the final Dungeon album that will be out this year will still be in the same boat as previous releases).

Slapping Penguin 06-19-2006 12:23 AM

Go one Steerpike ask him to do vocals for you lol.

Tell you Tim can't wait to see you at Metal for the Brain this year in Canberra. My mate saw you as Dungeon once and he said you were fanstatic and he has never listened to a bit of Power Metal in his life! (well apart from what I show him) So yaa I expect a great show :D
I could see it happening in Aus.

Maiden havent toured Australia since 1992 :p

Slapping Penguin 06-19-2006 02:25 AM

Tis worries me. And Jono rather you need to see Preist and Maiden befoer THEY die.

dUSK 06-19-2006 03:10 AM
I need to see Priest and Maiden before I die. They are getting old, and this worries me :-\
Same here. Unfortunately I think it's unlikely that it will happen. :(

Also, I'm going to miss seeing LORD twice in July. :upset:

Slapping Penguin 06-19-2006 06:42 AM

Why mate?

Apocalyptic Raids 06-19-2006 06:55 AM

because Maiden haven't been here in ages, and it's not as if they don't have a fanbase here :-\

Shattered_Future 06-19-2006 07:38 AM
Tis worries me. And Jono rather you need to see Preist and Maiden befoer THEY die.
Bah, what doesn't kill them makes them stronger. They'll tour in wheelchairs if they have to.

Man, opening for Queensryche...pretty high profile gig. Congrats on that. :)

dUSK 06-19-2006 08:00 AM
Why mate?
Umm, I'm not exactly sure what your asking, so I'll answer both. Well, Jono answered one. :p
because Maiden haven't been here in ages, and it's not as if they don't have a fanbase here :-\
As for me missing the Lord gigs (one being with Queensryche), it's because I won't be in Brisbane, as will have gone home for uni holidays. I'm actually missing the Lord/Queensryche gig by less than 12 hours. :(

-The Frank 06-19-2006 09:42 AM
because Maiden haven't been here in ages, and it's not as if they don't have a fanbase here :-\
There have been a great many petitions and people complaining about how maiden never go to australia on the Iron maiden BB, so you never know what might happen.

MetalOz 06-19-2006 09:50 AM
Go one Steerpike ask him to do vocals for you lol.
That was me looking for someone to do vocals for this month's competition entry. No one has volunteered so I'll probably just submit it with my own :(

It's a very good song man and although they vocals do sound a bit awkward they're not bad. The style heavily reminds me of Twisted Tower Dire, are you familiar with them? On another note I wonder why Ollie didnt volunteer...

Shattered_Future 06-19-2006 12:13 PM

He did, just 500 people mobbed him with their songs.

Lord Abortion 06-19-2006 02:09 PM

I have to go back on my offer unfortunately, due to my microphone being completely broken.

I think the vocals sound pretty good as they are though.

I'm on My third Maiden show in December, The new album sounds like it's gonna be incredible.
I missed Priest last time on the AOR tour...had no money for the ticket. Stupid ticketmaster and their ludicrous charges.

Stormrider 06-19-2006 05:53 PM

I want to see Maiden eventually.

I check often to see when the BG tickets will go on sale :D

Lord Abortion 06-19-2006 05:54 PM

NP-Stratovarius-Speed of light

Now That's a riff!

Tyler 06-19-2006 05:58 PM

Yeah, that's my favourite Strato song. I havent heard much though.
