I say Ian should quit the evens and get Fugazi back out of there "hiatus"
Yeah he should.

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 08:18 PM

Nacho knows NOTHING.

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 08:21 PM

Agree to disagree then I suppose.

YDload 07-03-2005 09:00 PM

Soundgarden- Badmotorfinger

It sounds a bit different than I was expecting, but it's still good. I like the brass instruments, which is a weird touch. But my favorite song on the album is still "Rusty Cage."

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 09:32 PM

Oi Ian, listen to Mudhoney.

br3ad_man 07-03-2005 09:34 PM

yeah, Mudhoney are the goods.

YDload 07-03-2005 09:37 PM

I think I'll get Houdini before that.

br3ad_man 07-03-2005 09:39 PM

Yes get Houdini first.

ATM 07-03-2005 09:39 PM

The Whips

br3ad_man 07-03-2005 09:41 PM

Trying to dig The Dismemberment Plan again.

Zappa 07-03-2005 09:47 PM

I'm doing some shuffling at the moment, and some Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares just came on. I love this stuff a lot, and I think you guys should dig it too.

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 10:03 PM

My afternoon will be as follows:

Cougars
Wires on Fire
mclusky
Hot Water Music
Dead Meadow

and to top it off... all 3 Hot Snakes albums, and the Peel Sessions 7" played back to back.

ROCK.

Little Man being Erased 07-03-2005 10:14 PM

Nice, when is the show in Melbourne that you're going to?

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 11:14 PM

8 July, aka 4 days.

Wooooh! I arrive thursday, come back saturday.

Little Man being Erased 07-03-2005 11:18 PM

That'll be one awesome time. It's always fun going on trips to see bands. Especially to cities like Melbourne or Sydney.

I'll be seeing 'em on the 6th.

Tangy zizzle 07-03-2005 11:22 PM

Yeah, I've never been to Melbourne myself. Been to Brisvegas a couple times, but never Melbrourne.

I'm going by myself aswell, might have to meet up with some e-friends.

Little Man being Erased 07-03-2005 11:26 PM

I've never been to Melbourne either - it'll be bloody cold there, but I spose you're used to that. I went to Sydney last year to see Radiohead.

What kind of music is that?

br3ad_man 07-04-2005 03:57 AM

Who lives in Melbourne? BDO people?

Rejd 07-04-2005 04:02 AM
It Still Moves is a quality record. You should get At Dawn if you like that.

I've been in a Tom Waits-y mood today. I've listened to Rain Dogs, One From the Heart, and Bone Machine, as well as Fu Manchu - In Search Of.
Do they record in a studio? Sounds as if everything is recorded live. Anyone else noticed that?
Besides that, very talanted boys, great stuff!

Rejd 07-04-2005 04:02 AM

MMJ, that is.

JohnXDoesn't 07-04-2005 04:22 AM

Mid to late eighties Talking Heads. Little Creatures, True Stories, Naked. Mostly True Stories, though.

Puzzlin' Evidence!. :thumb:

3rdplanet 07-04-2005 07:11 AM

dEUS - The Ideal Crash is a very good album, have been listening to it a lot.

I believe they record the vocals inside of a silo.

Zappa 07-04-2005 10:01 AM
What kind of music is that?
They're a Bulgarian choir group comprised of mostly women. They sing very beatiful and haunting traditional sort of music with these ridiculous close harmonies that you never hear in Western music.

Tomahawk 07-04-2005 10:27 AM

Today was:

The Beatles (Abbey Road + Let It Be)
Wham!
Carole King
Gram Parsons
Journey
Kris Kristofferson

Bartender 07-04-2005 12:49 PM

I remember you saying you were planning to upload some of that in the yousendit thread, and then having yousendit stop working on you. I think.

Zappa 07-04-2005 12:50 PM

Yeah, I gave up on it because it just won't upload. Someone should get it from me on AIM and upload it for the rest of the class.

Going to the store tomorrow to buy this re-release. I've been wanting to hear this thing for ages.

Digging Gainsbourg right now, writing another review fer him.

Zappa 07-04-2005 11:01 PM

Duke Ellington at Newport in 1956 (the real concert, from the 1999 reissue)
Red Garland's Piano

Tangy zizzle 07-04-2005 11:53 PM
Cardinal - Cardinal
Oneida - The Wedding
Finally, more appreciation for ^ that band.

YDload 07-05-2005 12:09 AM

Is there a major difference between Oneida and Unida? I mean, I know you like both of them Tangy.

Tangy zizzle 07-05-2005 12:14 AM

Yeah, pretty big difference actually.

Unida are very straightforward rock, whereas Oneida are a big mash up of krautrock, jazz-stuff, psychadelia and hard rock.

I prefer Oneida to Unida.
