SLATANIC-666 12-26-2004 03:01 PM

With regards to what Dimebag was saying about We Have Arrived, the only place I can find it is on Amazon and they sell it third party for like £25+. I feel like sending them an E-mail telling 'em to shove it :naughty:

DimebagDarrell 12-26-2004 03:04 PM

i was lucky and saw it on ebay for £13 i just scan through ebay every once in a while and there are some good bargains on there sometimes.

RCA 12-26-2004 03:20 PM

I found We Have Arrived at a local shop here for $7.19.

SLATANIC-666 12-26-2004 05:23 PM

^^ *jealous*, I wish there were more independent music shops where I live but they all got bought out by fucking HMV and MVC where McFly are considered to be metal :upset:

metal-militia 12-26-2004 05:35 PM

my HMV isn't that bad but its not as good as Virgin. What did suprise me was my HMV having a copy of Seven Churches when the metal section is usually full of Slipknot and other ****

RCA 12-26-2004 06:56 PM

Heh, speaking of Slipknot being in the metal section, one of the guys working at the FYE up here is a big mallcore and false metal fan. Everytime I walk in there to see if any more metal records are for sale, he tries to get me to buy a Slipknot or Disturbed album.

Him - "d00d! liek check this slipknoT cd! it is teh heaviest!!!

Me - "Sorry, you've mistaken me for a homosexual."

NP: Heathen - Hellbound

Griffin_Page 12-26-2004 06:58 PM

Hahaha.. yeah, I ran into the new 'metalhead' at our school (caesar hair cut, lip ring, gaged ears, thick black glasses)... told me he liked death metal like Hatebreed and Slipknot.. I just laughed and walked away.

metal-militia 12-26-2004 07:13 PM

I know someone like that. He thought Slipknot were thrash and Cradle of Filth were a ultra heavy black metal band. He tries to impress me with his "thrash knowledge" such as trying to name more than 1 east coast thrash band. He failed. Miserably.

CaptainWaits 12-26-2004 07:34 PM

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 07:46 PM

Hello Fellow Thrashers.

This Christmas I just got:

Kreator-Pleasure to Kill
Sepultra-Arise
Megadeth-Killing is My Buisness and Buiness Is good
Coroner-Punishment for Decadence
Overkill-Taking Over
Iced Earth-Night of the Stormrider

I was also wondering if any of you heard Metal Church and knew if they were any good?

CaptainWaits 12-26-2004 08:00 PM

^^H*ll yeh their good, to me their rivaling Sepultura and Exodus for the 2ND best Thrash metal band.....but noones close to touching Overkill at the top

My 2 favorite albums of thiers are thier Self-Titled and Blessing In Disguise...........but Human Factor is pretty good too

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 08:08 PM

Thanks. Ya Overkill does kick ***. I only have Feel the Fire and Taking Over.

CaptainWaits 12-26-2004 08:11 PM

The only ones I'm lacking are "I Hear Black", "From the Underground and Below" and "Bloodletting".

"Years of Decay" and "Horroscope" own them all though

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 08:23 PM

Nice, I'll check them out. I just figured I'd go in chronological order until I get them all someday in the distant future.

RCA 12-26-2004 08:28 PM

My favorite 'Kill album is either Under The Influence, or Years of Decay, but they have SOOOOO many great songs it's hard to choose a favorite album. They are one of, if not THE most consistent thrash bands around. The only album I didn't really care for was "I Hear Black."

ThrashMaster27 12-26-2004 09:30 PM

Can't beat Overkill, especially with D.D Vernis loud *** Bass. Out of all, I'm missing their live albums, which I intend on getting sooner or later.

NP: Overkill - Head First

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 09:36 PM

Coroner are so great

NP: Overkill II The Nightmare Continues (Was listening to Sudden Fall)

ThrashMaster27 12-26-2004 09:43 PM

Coroner are badass. Released 3 of the best albums in the Thrash genre, but it was a shame Tommy Vetterli got mixed up with them 2 crap Kreator albums. Hmmm, in the mood for some Sadus now.

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 09:57 PM

I recently heard my first Kreator and they are pretty sweet. I'm in the mood for some Morbid Angel, but that is besides the point.

RavenousMetalist87 12-26-2004 09:58 PM

I uploaded almost all of my music to my I-Pod Mini today (except Seven Churches and a few other CDs I wasn't sure to upload) and to my suprise :

I still have like 3GB left...I love this little baby :D

Bah! I want an I-Pod! I'm stuck with a crappy MP3 Player....virtually now an Obsolete item. When I find $400 (Or however much they are!) lying around I'll be sure to buy one.

NP: Fear Factory - Self Bias Resistor

JMetallica 12-26-2004 10:23 PM

Overkill = Ownage. Got I hear black the other day, so i only need to get The Killing Kind and Taking Over. The Years Of Decay is their best album, if i had to choose one. Although i think they arent so much a highlights band as they are a **** solid band.

Metal Church = AWesome. Not quite as good as Overkill, but top 10 material nevertheless. And i dont know why people call them soley a 'Thrash' band, as they really arent just thrash. Kind of HEAVY Trad band, mixed with some power/thrash. But who cares. They own.

TM... you NEED an ipod Now! They own the royal own.

NP: Australia vs Pakistan with a bit of Overkill - elimination playing for good measure.

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 10:41 PM

I shall buy a Metal Church cd soon then.

CaptainWaits 12-26-2004 10:49 PM

Nuclear Assualt was another one of those solid Thrash bands in that era as well

RCA 12-27-2004 01:26 AM

Ah yes, Nuclear Assault were great. \m/

NP: Heathen - Hypnotized (Damn this song kicks ass)

Apocalyptic Raids 12-27-2004 01:30 AM
ive always loved thrash like Slayer, Dark Angel, Metallica, Venom, etc..but i also love punk...so naturally crossover appealed to me even more...if ye got slsk, i got plenty crossover stuff... :thumb:
Whats ya soulseek?

****, seven churches, did you buy it? HMV does suprise me sometimes, last time i was there they had Beneath The Remains, Schizophrenia and Arise.
NP: Australia vs Pakistan with a bit of Overkill - elimination playing for good measure.
..man that took ages
****, seven churches, did you buy it? HMV does suprise me sometimes, last time i was there they had Beneath The Remains, Schizophrenia and Arise.
Well my HMV always has Sepultura stuff. I didn't get Seven Churches becuase i stuck it on my Christmas list but didn't get it. I'm going to have to write up a new list of things i want to buy now. :)

Apocalyptic Raids 12-27-2004 06:33 AM

there are so very very many cds i wanna buy, although now after xmas i should have enough money to buy some of them. :D

metal-militia 12-27-2004 06:36 AM

yeah i got over £100 for Christmas :D

Violence, I see Another Lesson In Violence is your new favourite, and something i got as a presnt too. It's good but i wish they had put Metal Command on there as well.

ThrashMaster i got Overkills Wrecking Everything live CD and its great, but my only complaint is that they play nothing off Horrorscope :(

Apocalyptic Raids 12-27-2004 06:43 AM

yeah, it rules, it would have been good to have metal command on there, since it would then be the whole bonded.. album, but it still slays. Have you listened to baloff's banter between songs? Its hilarious.

metal-militia 12-27-2004 07:24 AM

No not yet, just skipped to favourite songs so far, I'll have to check that out :thumb:

McFly? Is that an actual name of a band or are you making fun of a band's name?

I should give Overkill another chance. The Years of Decay, eh?

ThrashMaster27 12-27-2004 08:39 AM

No, sadly McFly are a 'band' and I say band in the most begrudging terms. Yes, I'd recommend The Years Of Decay for anyone trying to get into Overkill as it's their most standout of albums.

ForiegnPenguin 12-27-2004 09:53 AM

I just got 30 more dollars for chrismas. Going to get a Metal Church cd.
I could probably get another cd too. Any suggestions?

Sabbat - Dreamweaver

ForiegnPenguin 12-27-2004 11:06 AM

What are they like?

Since you like the more brutal stuff, start off with either Horrorscope or Necroshine. Then work backwards in their catalog and try Years of Decay, Under the Influence, etc.

Sabbat are a great thrash band, with one of the coolest guitar tones. They don't really sound like any other band to me. Definately worth checking out :chug:

Feel The Darkness 12-28-2004 12:55 AM
Whats ya soulseek?
J_Atomic, just message me, so i can add ye to my list..

Feel The Darkness 12-28-2004 01:04 AM

ThrashMaster27 12-28-2004 02:39 AM

Speaking of modern day Thrash classics (Although nobody mentioned it)....

Anybody heard Hypnosia - Extreme Hatred? I'm not sure if they've been mentioned before, but it's a ****ing killer album. Anyway, highly recommended by me!
