Yeah I've been collecting since like '02 and I had a buttload of disposable income back in the day.

Also I paid about 12 bucks for most of mine, at shows, but now most band's charge 15.

It only happened once to me though, since we hardly get any winter temperatures here.

I've yet to have my beard freeze, which is odd because it's been so cold lately that everything else has. My eyelids froze open the other day.
