Yep, I'm getting myself a new Guitar this week.

What do you reckon I should purchase myself? Suggestions/demands are welcome. ;)

(Budget of A$550/US$385/about 290 pounds, I think)

Thunder Fingers 12-20-2004 05:12 AM

save alittle more and Get an Fender Stratocaster.. :p

But Jackson Guitars are pretty cheap for the time... the guitarist in My band found an Jackson Kelly and loved it, but he hadnt any money to get it.. but he also played it through a Mesa Boogie rig :p

Riva 12-20-2004 05:18 AM

Hehe, well, maybe I will save some more. Not only do the boys use Fenders, but so does Gilmour. :D

I can be a double fanboy. :p

Thunder Fingers 12-20-2004 05:21 AM

 Yeah! You have to get it with Maple fretboard though.. I love Maple fretboard :D

Riva 12-20-2004 05:22 AM

Nice! Well, off to bed now. See you tomorrow, Eddie. :thumb:

EvErLaSt 12-20-2004 08:15 AM

I really don't like Zildjian cymbals. I have only ever heard one Zildjian cymbal I like: K Custom Dark Crash

I'm a Paiste/Sabian man myself (although idealy I will one day use only Paistes.)

Order of cymbals I need to replace on my kit:

Paiste 14" 200 Hihats for Paiste 15" Signature Sound Edge Hi Hats
Pearl 18" CX300 Crash/Ride for Paiste 18" Rude Crash/Ride
Sabian 20" Pro Rock Ride for Paiste 24" Dimensions Mega Power Bell Ride
Sabian 18" AAXplosion Crash for Paiste 18" Signature Crystal Crash.

After that, get a Paiste 20" Signature Heavy China, 20" Signature Full Crash, 17" Signature Fast Crash, 14" Signature Thin China, 13" Dimensons Meat Crunch Hi-Hats, 20" Rude Ride/crash and 20" Signature Power Crash

here's hoping :chug:

Thunder Fingers 12-20-2004 01:38 PM

^he use paiste cymbals.. wich they dont pay him enough money..

supreme maidenite 12-20-2004 01:44 PM

zildjian cymbals are pretty expensive i reckon
i agree with GurS i like paiste and sabian

ashman 12-20-2004 02:09 PM

I'm saving up for a Ibanez DT200, it's one sweet guitar

ashman 12-20-2004 03:26 PM

I was just wondering, what type of Fender does Maiden use, Mexican or American? Or do they get a custom jobby?

btoto 12-20-2004 03:53 PM

A Question !
-------------

Hey Maiden fans, I need your help. Does anyone know the real reason of Clive leaving the band??? I like his drumming much more than Nicko's, especially in Transylvania (no offence to GurS :thumb: )

GurS 12-21-2004 01:04 AM

In Rock in Rio, H says "If you party non stop for five months, you'll be dead". That's what Burr did. He went out and partied everynight on the beast on the road tour, and supposedly he even played one gig with a bucket next to the snare coz he kept throwing up. It had such an effect on him that he and the band wisely split ways - he had no control over himself and if he would have stayed in maiden he would have gone the way of Kieth Moon.

And while I feel that Nicko IS the better drummer, clive came up with more inventive drum beats, that I can't argue.

The Mercenary 12-21-2004 08:11 AM

^ It would have been good to hear Clives drumming with the level and quality of production on the DoD album, but i must say, i prefer Nickos drumming
