Can't stand blues?! I found that very surprising. Are you not a fan of blues based classic rock? That would surely narrow things down wouldn't it?

I downloaded Dylan Live '75.....it was not the album I was thinking of, and I'm very disappointed. This is probably the worst album associated in any way with Bob Dylan I've ever heard. It all sounds so plastic and inpersonal, the complete opposite of what Dylan should be. Although The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol could be considered an improvement, and some songs aren't complete travesties.
 How could you not like it. It's my favorite Dylan cd. The version of Hard Rain off of that is the best version I've ever heard. Thinking back to the first time I heard it though, I remember I really didn't like It Ain't Me Babe from it and thought it was a waste of 20 bucks. With a few more listens it became my favorite Dylan album, tied with BOTT. Give it a few more listens.

Finally, American Beauty went through. Check your boxes if you want it.
I can't stand blues so I'm not a big Clapton fan. I'd rather listen to Beck's stuff any day. I still have found no luck in finding Guitar Shop. :upset:
I don't how anyone could dislike an entire genre. Blues can be so great sometimes. :(

I still need to hear Live '75 but it's so **** big it'd take a half a day to download and judging from thick's reaction I don't know if I want it anymore. :-/

That reminds me, I sent out the Cream Reunion Concert from London last May.

It all depends on who is doing it and how bluesy it is. Like Claptons more bluesy stuff I really dislike but their are some exceptions, I just can't think of any at this moment.

I might have been a bit to strong in saying I dislike all blues I should've said I dislike most blues. And I'm really bad with classifying bands in certain genres so I'm sure there are a few bands that are blues but I just don't consider them blues.

Thanks for the Forever Changes, psh what an amazing album

I have heard A House is not a Motel before, very nice album. It's strange that it is so off the radar

Live '75 is awesome! I don't know how anyone could dislike it that much

The Times They Are A-Changing is a great album. It might be my favorite Dylan album, but I'm not sure just yet.

That album is impeccable, Alone Again Or is the catalyst for what is to come. A great album with so many stand out tracks. It seems pretty underground in the sense that the amount of people who have heard their music is minimal but they must have remastered a large number of copies because I bought the album, with a great informative sleeve in it at a $10 cd store. One of my favourite psychedelic rock albums without a doubt.

I still haven't heard that, but I'm assuming it's in the same vein as The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, which I found to be very boring.
On e-mail? I haven't seen it yet
Nor I.

Could someone upload disc 2 of The Black Crowes Live on YSI because megaupload says there are too many connections to my IP. Or does anyone know a simple way to get around this?

PinkFreud 09-18-2005 05:55 PM

Yay.
/starts Live '75 club

Times They Are a Changin' is great, but as far as early albums, I'd go with:

Freewheelin' > Another Side > Times > s/t

I'm glad somebody likes Live '75 besides me. I think it is amazing, as I've said many, many times.

jpj 09-18-2005 05:57 PM

Nevermind, I did get On the Beach.

Could someone upload either The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan or The Times They Are a Changin', seeing as I only have later Dylan albums?

I'll get on it.

thickasabrick 09-18-2005 06:11 PM

I'll give Live '75 a few more listens just because it's Dylan and he deserves more than just one listen before I start to judge him. I didn't like The Times They Are A-Changin' as much as Freewheelin, it's got a darker, hollow sound and it isn't very uplifting to listen to. It's still got a lot of great songs on it though. I don't listen to it as much as I should.

Thanks for the uploads everyone. I haven't got around to listening to them all, I'm gonna listen to Forever Changes later tonight for sure though.

That's quite the collection of Weird Al you have. What's your favourite song by him?

I've never heard anything by the 13th Floor Elevators, if you (or anyone) wants to upload anything by them I'd be very grateful (don't feel rushed). I've heard good things about them, and I've searched for their CDs and records, but I haven't found anything.

Lunch 09-18-2005 06:18 PM

I actually have two albums of theirs, which I consider quite a feat since you can't find their albums in stores. I'll be able to upload one sooner or later, maybe not tonight.

Heh, I used to be quite the Weird Al fan (actually, still am). My favorite song is either Albuquerque or Genius in France.

If you like The Times They Are A-Changin', check out Time Out of Mind. It's from 1997, and has the same dark, kind of pessimistic songwriting. His voice has changed, but it's similar to Times and very good. I would upload it, but I don't own it. It's on xsao though, you'll probably like it if you like Times.

I'd be very interested in The Psychadelic Sounds of the 13th Elevators. I have Bull of the Woods that Lunch uploaded a while back and it's good. I hear Psychadelic Sounds is supposed to be better though.
