I thought it was good. |

|
Its a WHOLE chicken cooked sitting on the can.. WHen finished cooking, take the can out and eat.
|
I love beer can chicken.
Garbage can, too. That party blew. There were like 8 kids I knew there, and all of them are upstraight, white, racist old redneck mother fuckers. Relatives kept hugging me, too. |
Hey, Antigone... is your name pronounced "ant-ig-own" or "ant-ee-gon?" Or something else?
:p |
i always see it is ant-ee-gon
|
Eh, to be honest, I see it as "ant-ig-en."
:p |
"Antig-oh-knee"
Like the famous Sophocles play? |
Ah, okay, thanks.
^_^ And never heard of whatshisname. :p |
Antigone was Oedipus' daughter. It was all part of a series of plays written by Sophocles. HOw old are you Crazyguy? You shoulda learned this freshman year :smash:
|
I bet he read the Odyssey instead.
We did. I hated it. |

Freshman year is...? Is that grade 9? 10? I dunno, I live in Canada. :p 15, by the way. |
yeah, we did Odyssey Freshman year, Antigone Sophomore year.....
|
Well I had it pretty bad. I was in an advanced "special" english class and it was my teahers first year of teaching, and he didnt know what he was doing. So we read the Odyssey first, because he said we would read the Illiad next year. Lo and behold he was wrong so we had to read the Illiad as well. And then he made us read the Oedipus trilogy.....which was the only thing he got right. But he also made us read Romeo and Juliet, which we werent supposed to read till 11th grade. So because of his ignorance we read 2 books that we shouldnt have. What a douche..
|
Bah, we didnt even touch on greek stuff over here. Well maybe a little in year 4 (which is like.. 3rd grade so you can imagine how watered down it was)
|

Ah, okay.
Eh, it's okay. I live in a small town so I can't say for most. It's fun, though. Apparently our teachers make more than American teachers (although it's still rather piddly). Got one more year (grade 12) of school then it's off to uni. \m/>_<\m/ Before anyone asks, I skipped a grade. |
Teachers only get bad pay in inner city schools.
Here they start out at something like $40k. I think in like 3 years that goes up to about $60k. That includes benefits, christmas, spring, and summer vacations. It goes up a lot if you choose to teach summer school and do things like coach. That's pretty damn good. I have NO idea why people choose to teach in huge city schools. |
Ahhh cool. Ive seen a bunch of documentaries and stuff saying how Canadian Schools>American schools so I was just wondering. But dont think to much of it cuz apparently Japanese Schools >Everyone.
|
Damn the Japanese and their Suzuki method!
>_< Haha, but seriously, they just expect so much out of their kids it just isn't funny. |
And that's why the Japanese have Hikkikomori.
Education is what you make it. Part of the reason why American schools suck so much, is because of inclusion. You can't teach retards math, and putting them in with kids of normal intelligence is only going to hold the smart kids back while exploiting the retards. We also focus on socialization more so than education, so kids are too distracted by each other to concentrate at the subject. Plus, we don't beat the hell out of students. I'm against physical abuse at a young age, because it gets them used to it. Once they hit 13 and start acting up, one public smack across the face will straighten those fuckers right out. The physical pain isn't going to affect them, but the embarassment and psychological effects will last a lifetime. They'll feel that terrible bubbling feeling in thier gut every single time they think of acting like a douche. |
They don't get weekends dont they?
|
I dont know about weekends, but I doubt that they get them off.
And also some schools seperate the genders, which I wouldnt have any part of. I wouldnt want to be in a school full of only males....that would suck ass... |

I'm from a small town Canadian school as well... I get to graduate next year too, so I don't worry about the worldwide education systems really =P. Of course, I'm not 15...=/. I'm 16, about to turn 17...

Ouch. I turned 16 in June, and i'm already finished school. I start college in September. |
I thought barbacue meant a lot of people, but i guess it didn't. We (my oldest brother) only had some of his closest friends over.
One of them said that we should form a punk band called the Black Hand and we should go out and assassinate the band Franz Ferdinand. I thought it was funny. |

The girls grammar school was next door and you could just meet up at break, lunch etc. Single sex schools are good as you are less distracted in lessons but, our school is supposed to be the best behaved (grammar schools are only for clever people) but as it's all boys, there is constant fighting, swearing, vandalism etc. |
I'm going into my second year at college, I only go on thursdays now, I'm doing an apprentischip so weekdays Im at work. Rightfully, I've used up my holidays already in March April time, and that's what we are only allowed to have. So it's then until christmas I'm working all week 7:30 til 5.
I'm nagging for a week off soon though  |
