nah on youtube. i like to make inflamatory remarks in the comment when im bored bacause the calibre there is even lower than the pit. I called them all dog fuckers ^_^
Good call.

The sad part is that I used to have an album by them...
I heard that in america when your 18 they just give you a license. Also we have things called Warrant of Fitness for your car which basically certifies that its not a bomb which has to be done yearly. i dont think you have those in US
We have those as well.

big80smullet 02-21-2008 03:52 PM

Nostalgia 02-21-2008 03:53 PM

I take my license test in a few hours. I'm fairly confident, so I really don't think I should have any trouble.
Yep, I had my 16th lesson today.
My driver said I was doing well and that I should do the theory, then he would ask for a periodical exam. I don't know if you also have this. You can choose to have this and you already do an exam where the examinator drives with you and judges your driving skill. You can also already do special things (like parkng in reverse, turn reverse, cross on the road) and then you don't have to do it on your real exam.

So I hope next month or so, I'll have my license. :D
well, its not the same as in austria:
1) you have to go to an doctor and check yourself
2) first aid licence
3) etc.
4) theory lesson
5) driving lesson
6) theory exam (just everything beginning with signs, till how fast you can drive, situations, cross, engines, etc. -> you get a CD with about 15 chapters with about 1500 questions in sum; at the exam you get random 55questions)
7) driving exam with an external examinator, your teacher and you (of course)

@Dimmu: we have 3 "types" of streets
city: 30-50km/h
free road or land road: up to 100km/h
autobahn (highway) 130km/h

well, there are several undercategories, but that three are the most important ones.

the2stranger 02-21-2008 03:55 PM

Good luck Austin.

Meh, I'm tired.
I'm off guys.
Later. :)

repcak 02-21-2008 03:58 PM

i'm going to read a book and then i will go to bed as well :)

here you have to read you theory then take a written test. if you pass they give you your learners or Ls then you have to complete 120 hours of driving, holding the license for a minimum of 6 months. at the end of the time you take a driving test and you get your probationary 1s or Red Ps have those for a year, then take a hazards awareness test and graduate to green Ps for two years then you get your full license after another theory test.

Learners are limited to 80k/h, red Ps are limited to 90k/h and greens are limited to 100k/h.

so here it takes over 3 years to get your full license

Nostalgia 02-21-2008 04:01 PM

You guys have complex driving courses. I just went to a driver's education program for a month, scored at least an 80% on all my papers, passed a written test, and now am taking my drive today.

We have almost the same stuff as in Austria, but you don't actually need to take any lessons, just as long as you pass the exam. However, we do have an extra test to learn how to drive on slippery and icey roads.

big80smullet 02-21-2008 04:11 PM

yeah lessons are not required here but you have to log all your driving minutes in a book to be presented to the driving test dude

this is why american drivers are pretty terrible tbh. but making the test harder to keep retards of the road would be infringing on your rights or something i guess

Tyr 02-21-2008 04:12 PM

We don't need that either, but most take at least some lessons anyway. I mostly just drove with my parents and took five lessons, I think.

big80smullet 02-21-2008 04:13 PM

i took two lessons and then just drove with my olds.

gmoneyguy 02-21-2008 04:13 PM

THATS complicated... idk if its a good way to make a safe and good drive out of you.
some methods are just senseless... but its one way (of a thousend) to limit car accidents.
I had to take Driver's Ed in high school.
They took that out of our high schools in the 80s I think. We had to pay and go to independent places. Its cool though cause I went with all of my friends who happen to go to different high schools than me.

one of my flatmates indeed believes that there is no difference between vienna and our hometown (regarding driving lesson)
tbh. if i would make the driving lesson in my hometown, i could do it right now and i will pass, but here in vienna i still have to take 6additional lesson (each 1,5h) to be able to pass the driving exam!

some ppl. are just dumb
... In addition: Vienna has the highes failing-rate of whole austria; guess why?

good night guys!

edit: hometown: 14,000 ppl, vienna: 1,600,000 ppl

Stupid fanboys. I don't think they are an awful band at all. They are just fun to listen to sometimes, but I wouldn't go as far to saying they are the best ever

lol, it is pretty bad and ridiculously too long as well. It's the second worse song on the cd (behind the absolute suck-fest that is Eye of the Storm)
