Mono are absolutely terrific. High On Fire isn't terrible, and I haven't heard of the others.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:00 PM

Panthers isn't actually that good, I'm just an Orchid fanboy.

Coliseum is awesome though.

And best Shark Punch lyrics =
BROCORE IS THE BEST THING YET
JUST ASK BOBA FETT

Bartender 09-13-2007 03:01 PM

I like Coliseum, assuming it's the same Coliseum. Think I'll turn this album off and put some Coliseum on, in fact.

Kage 09-13-2007 03:01 PM

What's Coliseum all about?

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:03 PM

Southern-y sounding crossover. Some stoner elements too.

Moses 09-13-2007 03:03 PM

I really like the new Kanye West album. I really hope he outsells 50 Cent so he can stop rapping. On the other hand though, Ayo Technology is a ****ing awesome song, made awesome by Timbaland and Justin Timberlake.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:04 PM

I really don't like any of those artists, I'm really out of the loop with hip hop atm, but I just got k-os' most recent album, and that's real sweet.

Deth 09-13-2007 03:05 PM

I think 50 sent out a press release recalling that statement.

But I would like to see the end of his career as well.

Eliminator 09-13-2007 03:06 PM

kanye is just as bad as 50

only reason anyone would think otherwise is production

Moses 09-13-2007 03:08 PM

^^^That's the biggest reason I like Graduation. Kanye's got a couple interesting lines on there though, he's a mediocre MC but the songs as a whole are really good IMO.

Okay well, you must like Timbaland. He's the most interesting producer in mainstream atm, probably the only one. If you heard Justin Timberlake's new album I'm sure you'd agree.

I never really liked Kanye West until recently and even then I didn't like him that much but this album is really good.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:09 PM

I don't like any of that music. I didn't like Justin Timberlake's new album.

PinkFreud 09-13-2007 03:09 PM

Kanye West is one of the worst things to happen to rap in the past 10 years.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:10 PM

Puff Daddy is the worst thing to ever happen to rap tbh.

Eliminator 09-13-2007 03:11 PM

pretty much.

Moses 09-13-2007 03:11 PM
Kanye West is one of the worst things to happen to rap in the past 10 years.
I completely disagree.
I don't like any of that music. I didn't like Justin Timberlake's new album.
That's fine. I just can't deny Timbaland's originality and uniqueness on his tracks. You can always tell when it's one of his beats.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:12 PM

I normally respect your opinion, but Kanye West flat out sucks.

Like he's a worse excuse for rap than Bring Me The Horizon is for a metal band.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2007 03:13 PM

kanye is the worst thing to happen to politics in the past 10 years.

No Child Left Behind* in my obviously-biased opinion :(

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:16 PM

I remember when Kanye West was on that Punk'D show, and I actually got angry from seeing how much of a queer he is.

Moses 09-13-2007 03:19 PM
No Child Left Behind* in my obviously-biased opinion :(
I actually completely agree. That was the most retarded idea ever.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:21 PM

no child left behind appeals to blax

Moses 09-13-2007 03:23 PM
no child left behind appeals to blax
I see the sarcasm but it really doesn't appeal to anyone, least of all blax.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:24 PM

It helped my old high school cause we did really well on standardized testing. But then again, middle class predominantly white school, nobody failed in my graduating class.

We had mad budget problems previously, but got some cool stuff from the government.

EDIT: during my senior year :(

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:27 PM

Yeah guys, Timbaland was interesting about 6 years.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 03:29 PM

Dude, I'm sorry, but I lol'd for some reason.

PinkFreud 09-13-2007 03:46 PM
I completely disagree.
How? He's mass produced rap for middle class white kids. I've never encountered anyone else who's musical opinions I usually respect who like him. His lyrics are absolute bottom of the barrel and his flow is nonexistant. He should have stayed just a producer.

Shattered_Future 09-13-2007 03:52 PM

I love Timbaland's work on Bjork's new album.

This x 10,000.

jrowa001 09-13-2007 03:54 PM

ive never really liked anything Timbaland has been involved with, same with Kanye

1) shitty at music
2) good at marketing

All the black guys I know that live in the ghetto like him (actually I can't think of any that don't), and it's true that his fanbase is very diverse, though I'm not sure how that should have an effect on how I perceive his music. I actually used to dislike him and his style before but I gave it a chance with this new album and now I like it. When it comes to rap, it's verrrry subjective.

i am the robots 09-13-2007 04:02 PM

Rza > Kanye

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2007 04:03 PM

Daft Punk > Kanye

Shattered_Future 09-13-2007 04:03 PM

A Tribe Called Quest > Kanye

I've been listening to them more lately. What a great group.
A Tribe Called Quest > Kanye
also, real good rap:

MOTHA FUCKIN DEVIL
WALKIN DOWN THA STREET
STAB YOU IN THE NECK
CAUSE IM THA MOTHA FUCKIN DEVIL

Eliminator 09-13-2007 04:06 PM

ATCQ sucked.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-13-2007 04:11 PM

Tribe is sort of the most boring rap I've ever witnessed.

Moses 09-13-2007 04:13 PM

I like 'em for a listen or two.
