Hardhat 06-21-2006 01:24 PM

Omg Thank You

Txus 06-21-2006 02:14 PM

Agalloch is spelled with two L's not G's :p

You could try:
Drudkh
Blut aus Nord
Novembres Doom

Those are the only one's I can think of.

I would like 2 recommendations-

1) Could anyone recommend some bands/songs that would sort of introduce me into Grind and such.

and 2)Could anyone recommend me some bands similar in style to Converge.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Well, with Grind, I'd say just go for it, but maybe start with some of the more legendary grind acts, like Nasum.

I have two requests

1. Good, simple old-school (or old-school inspired) Death Metal

2. Something with a lot of Groove (Both Metal and other)
1. Good, simple old-school (or old-school inspired) Death Metal
Autopsy, Asphyx, Obituary, and Bloodbath spring to mind.

Tyler 06-28-2006 08:00 PM

That was fast, thanks :D

I love *Bloodbath (I prefer Resurrection Through Carnage). I guess I want recommendations in that vein, since I'm posting now.

* I know they're not old-school DM, but the sound is sort of one of the things I'm looking for.

Shadows 06-28-2006 08:04 PM

Bloodbath is basically the Swedes' attempt to create modern day old-school death metal, so they're very similar to old American bands.

Tyler 06-28-2006 08:09 PM

Yeah, I know, that's why I added that the sound is what I want, I know they're not "old school". Either way, thanks for the reco's, I'm looking into them now.
Ugh...those three bands are all brutal death bands...
Nah. Necrophagist is technical death metal. Benighted is brutal death and aborted is brutal with some grindcore in it.

Those are still terrible grind reccomendations. If he asked for grind, then why don't you reccomend him something that is actually grind?

For grind, get Terrorizer and Repulsion, like Ar said. Top notch, especially repulsion. Vicious and thrashy.

I have apparently confuzzled the hell out of myself now. I swear when I read his question, he asked for tech/death/grind.

I read back now and it's what you said. Now I'm really confuzzled.

Hell yes. Robert Trujillo is such a bloody badass bassist with so much talent. I love Infectious Grooves.
