Put your foot in your bassists ass. I've been through the same thing a while back and it's very frustrating. Buy a drum machine just to spite your drummer.

IheartSP 09-10-2005 12:35 PM

My bassist was stupid for not tleling me, but I'm much madder at my drummer for postponing practice so he can go play golf.

Shadows 09-10-2005 12:36 PM

Golf? He traded music for golf? He needs to set his priorities straight - shove a golf club up his urethra. That will show him who's boss, and it will hurt like a motherfucker!

IheartSP 09-10-2005 12:44 PM

No nvm, I got the details wrong, this is 100% my bassists fault. If he had called and told me before I left I coulda just waited an hour, everyone but me and him are there right now.

Shadows 09-10-2005 12:46 PM

Throw his bass into a wood chipper. Then, as he realizes he just lost his bass, throw him in too.

I guess there's something about bassists. Way back when I was in a band my bassist was retarded too.

IheartSP 09-10-2005 12:50 PM

I can't do that, hes the only bassist in my school, and hes actually really good.

Anyway, i'm sick of most of the music scenes in America. I'll be out of here in about a year though

I know that. I wasn't seriously telling you to throw him in a wood chipper.

IheartSP 09-10-2005 01:23 PM

Well i assumed that was slang for firing him

(in gangster voice) Don't hate! :thumb:

I tend to over exaggerate with brutally violent and completely inappropriate comments. Obviously everyone screws up. But if he really got too bad, it is possible to have a band without a bassist.

:(

/me plays bass

IheartSP 09-10-2005 01:26 PM

Last practice he was supposed to bring a capo for my ryhtym guitarist so we could play songs in E standard, he forgot it even tho I told him 3 times. The time before that he told us he had a ride but didn't so he didn't end up going.

Squirrel 09-10-2005 01:27 PM

I lived in Finland.

It's OK, I tell people that they should be burned at the stake on certain occasions. :thumb:

Is it really that hard for you to tune up a step?

Why would you need a capo to do that?

I swear, we must be twins.

IheartSP 09-10-2005 01:29 PM

On a floyd rose yes

AA-12 09-10-2005 01:31 PM

I still don't see why a floyd would require that.

Cool.

Shadows 09-10-2005 01:32 PM
On a floyd rose yes
I feel your pain. :( The springs in the bridge go crazy as soon as you unlock it mess with the tuning. Luckily I don't have a guitar lesson for a couple weeks so I restrung my guitar with .11's and left it in drop C. Still, if you have an allen wrench and know how to do it it only takes a few minutes to tune.
I swear, we must be twins.
Yeah, it seems as if I often say things you would say. :)

I laugh so hard everytime I look at your avatar.

How was it?

IheartSP 09-10-2005 01:32 PM

Me and my rythym guitarist tune to D, instead of spending half an hour tuning back up to E we just use a capo on the 2nd fret.

Shadows 09-10-2005 01:35 PM

Half an hour?? Do you have some kind of cheap Floyd Rose knock off?

IheartSP 09-10-2005 01:37 PM

I have a Jackson KE-3. You gotta take off the locks, tune, fix the bridge, retune, then lock it again.

Shadows 09-10-2005 01:40 PM

That's the way mine is. That's just how Floyd Roses are, I guess. I retune my guitar so often that I can do it pretty quickly. It takes my a few minutes.

Man, that sucks. It takes me under a minute to tune a few steps down/up.

Shadows 09-10-2005 01:46 PM

The benefits of a Floyd Rose outweigh the problems in my opinion. Once you tune it up and lock it down the thing never slips out of tune. At all. It's really amazing. You could wank with the tremolo bar all you want and the tuning won't be affected.
