 That sounds amazing. Could the song between The Long and Winding Road and I Will have been I Saw Her Standing There? That's one of his best early songs. Helter Skelter must have been amazing.

That must've been so awesome.
|
OMG!!!!
I wasnt expecting for it to be THAT good. |

Helter Skelter was just rediculous. I got a sudden urge to get a band together just so I could cover it :p The song in between was one of the ones they recorded in someones basement, it was sort of like one of those cheap recording things in the mall, except earlier, of course I know one of the two ongs they recorded was "Thal Will be the Day", and this was the other one. I think it was when they still had Stu EDIT: My dad said that it was the best show he has ever seen, and he's seen things like Pink Floyd preforming DSOTM and the Who playing Tommy |
Was the really early song "In Spite Of All The Danger" ?
|

I just checked with my sister, yes it was :D I had to try to find it in the Anthology and I was reminded of how much like the Butcher cover, although I probably shouldn't |
October 8th can't come soon enough. I'm so excited about seeing Paul.
|
I wish Paul would come here. Hell I wish anyone half decent (besides Neil Young...soon...) would come here.
|
^^Where's here?
Beatles thread on page 6?!?!? What an outrage! |
He should come to Calgary... I watched "A Hard Day's Night" a few days ago.. awesome movie.

You think Oct. 8th can't come soon enough? Try Nov. 20th. |
Anybody interested in trading Beatles bootlegs? all i have are the Let It Be sessions hat were uploaded when file ploading was allowed on here but im looking for more, the LIB sessions are so good, they have an awesome version of Mean Mr. Mustard on it(surprisingly on the LIB sessions)
|
35 days for me though. And it'll be my second time.
I think I like this setlist more than his Back in the US one. Just because he's opening with MMT (much better then Hello Goodbye IMO) and he's doing Helter Skelter. |

It's because Let It Be was recorded before Abbey Road, but released afterward. ;) She Came In Through the Bathroom Window and Across the Universe are all great tracks, too. |
I just bought the White Album from King Of Trade for 16.95 :) I looked for it and couldnt find it, so I asked the guy and he said that a salesman wanted it so it was in the back. But the salesman guy was on his lunch break so he just gave it to me. He'll think twice before he goes on his next lunchbreak.

I've got a question for John Lennon fans...
On Well, Well, Well off the Plastic Ono Band album. Is that John playing the lead guitar at the beginning or Clapton? Cause I thought Clapton was part of that band, but now I've read he only played on Cold Turkey, and played one live show. |
i love the beatles i grew up with my dad feeding them to me my favorite member is george
|
I could use Anthology 1 and/or 3 if you have that. Thats not like a bootleg or anything, but still would be useful. Let it be sessions sounds good too.
She Came In Through the Bathroom Window and Across the Universe are all great tracks, too.
Across The Universe - Greatest Lyrics Ever Anybody going to see Rain or the 1964 Tribute? |
Rain on January.. But I already mentioned that before.
|
I saw Rain a year or so back. They're pretty good.
|
Glad to hear they're good.

As you said, Clapton played on Cold Turkey and live, and Harrison also played on a few songs from Imagine (the album). |
That was Clapton on WWW? I always assumed it was teh Lennon, especially as he played it live. One of my favourite Lennon songs, in fact. I can't stand his other screamy tracks though.
No it was Lennon. I guess my post was confusing. |
Does anyone know if Paul is going to tour in Europe?
|
Does anyone know if Paul is going to tour in Europe?
I'm sure he's going to tour England. Other than that, I'd check his website. |
Yeah on Plastic Ono Band, if you read the notes on the CD booklet at least, the entire album is pretty much John, Ringo, and Klaus Voorman. Phil Spector played piano on Love I think, and Billy Preston piano on God.
If you want a scaled down, basic, grungy album, this is the best IMO. Beats out anything out of the supposed 'grunge' era, thats for sure. hahaha, and as I type this, I Found Out just started playing. |
I didnt think John Lennon was that good (refering to Well, Well, Well) on guitar. That's actually a really great riff. And I agree Plastic Ono Band is an awesome band, it shows that John's really a rock and roll lover. I think his screaming tops even Kurt Cobains. I was really impressed when I heard Lennons screams.

while we're on the subject, what's everybody's favorite songs off of Plastic Ono Band, and while we're on that subject, what's everybody's favorite songs of off Imagine (including any extended versions, like I have an extended version of POB on CD).
POB: Mother, I Found Out, Working Class Hero, Do the Oz Imagine: Imagine, How, Gimme Some Truth |
Favorites songs from Imagine are Jealous Guy and Imagine. I still haven't heard all of Plastic Ono Band. So I don't really have any favorites..
|
POB- Mother, God, Well, Well, Well, Look At Me, Working Class Hero
Imagine- Imagine, Jealous Guy, Gimme Some Truth I really love every single song on POB though, so it was hard to pick favorites. Imagine is a little weaker than POB, but I still like all of the songs a lot. Mama I Don't Want to be A Soldier can get a little old though. Edit- Anyone else feel that John Lennon was at the peak of his career when he died? His stuff on his last 2 albums is incredible and about as good as POB/ Imagine stuff. If only they didn't have Yoko's stuff. If he took his songs from each of those cds and made them onto one cd without Yoko's stuff, it would have been an incredible cd. |
