Yeah, their first album definitely isn't extremely generic metalcore, nor ANYTHING else they've ever done. :rolleyes:

I mean, I love KSE, but wow. :lol:

I heard one of their albums before they got Howard and it was generic to the max.

I greatly enjoy KSE. I thought The End Of Heartache had a generic style to it, but the songs were so good I still listened to it every couple of days for about a year.

Oh and Jesse is a huge influence on me vocally.

I like old KsE better but even now when I listen to Alive..Breathing I have to eject it because of how whiney the singing is.

And for that reason is why I cant stand them now...not to mention Adam D is the bane of metals existence.

Generic is a perfect word to use to describe bands, especially in metalcore.

I don't see anything whiney about Alive Or Just Breathing.

And Adam D owns.

I was saying stop since every post before mine kept repeating the previous "generic" post. Most metalcore is generic I agree.

And Adam D does not own for the fact (well one of them) that he turned All That Remains latest effort into just another Killswitch album. Say what you will about AtR but at least they have some technical ability. Adam D is generic...but hey to each his own

Umm...I think AtR turned their album into another Killswitch album. Adam D doesn't have that much influence to make them "copy" his band.

Adam D has produced some of the best Metalcore albums (doesn't say much) ever.
The only work I recall not loving from him was Underoath's "Define the Great Line."

Anyways, Howard Jones is not whiny.
MCR is whiny. Chiodos is whiny. Drop, Dead Gorgeous is whiny.

All that Remains has always been a basic Metalcore band with or without Adam D.

Im sure he did. He's a producer...part of the job. At any rate Killswitch would be lucky if they made an album like This Darkened Heart, a song like The Weak Willed or even Idictment

Speaking of the Chiodos, I was talking to a friend a few days ago that said they were metal. I hadn't heard of them before so I checked them out on myspace and had a laughing fit that he thought they were metal.

I actually kinda liked them, but they are definitely pretty whiny (much more than MCR) and MOST definitely not metal lol.

Some people think if there is screaming than it's a Metal band.
These people are what I'd like to call "close-minded."

Anyways, they're Post-Hardcore.

And AtR would be lucky if they made an album as good as "Alive, or Just Breathing."
