Rutes suck.
The Vic Firth ones are horrible.
The Vater ones are crap too. (Or the equivelent at least)
I have to buy some brushes next time I'm in the city. I loved playing with brushes on the school kit, but never got around to buying any for myself.

Also, do any of you guys have links to how to make myself some rutes? I liked playing with those, but can't dish out the $20 for a pair when I know I could make them for <$5.
Grab the Blasticks, they are better, last forever and not as expensive.

S'why you make your own to the size of your hand.
edit: or tala-wands, i love those things. great feel. top work smith.

We_Love_Lime 11-22-2006 05:52 PM

Your probably right.
Do those aluminum ones get cold?
Like if your playing outside?
Or if you acidently drop them in your freezer?

That must be weird.

Aaron 11-22-2006 05:52 PM

They warm up to your hand after a minute. I like that of them.

I didn't see my mother at all today. She got home an hour ago, she asked me the normal questions and I responded in the normal fashion. She's cooking dinner, and she's looking for a box of dehydrated onions. She asks me where they are, and I tell her I don't know.

Then she acuses me of using them all. =/

Wtf? I don't cook, first of all, and second of all, why the hell would I use an entire box of dehydrated onion flakes? But apparently, it's my fault. I go to help her look, and she flips out and starts screaming at me.

It's a little weird realizing that you're in a better mood at school, which you absolutely loathe, than in the comfort of your own home. =/

I didn't even do anything.
The problem with the store that I go to 95% of the time is, they're really low on drum equipment. They've got guitars covering 90% of the wall and a bunch of racks, then they've got a drum corner with a rack of sticks, 15 cymbals, a couple accessories, and 1 kit set up (that you can't play unless you're looking to buy). I'd have to order them in for sure, and it takes a long time ordering through them, as I learned with my Hardimons.

I guess I can just stop by the grocery store on my trip around town knocking things off my to-do list. If they turn out bad, I'll put some thought into ordering in the Blasticks.

So how exactly would I do the "handles" of them then? Tape? What did you mean by wax Aaron?

Aaron 11-22-2006 06:04 PM

Well with the squewers there are pointy ends, bunch them together with all of them pointing one way. you melt candle wax over the that end of them till it forms a big hunk of it covering the end. This keeps them from splitting apart when your holding them. Wrapping gaffer tape over the end keeps the wax from heating up in your hand.

Well, I hate Photoshop.

Is it possible to get an image in like a banner type looking document?

Pauly 11-22-2006 06:23 PM

I love the power of the mind and your internal clock.

I had to drive my dad to the airport this morning at 5:30am. Last night I couldn't get to sleep til' about 1am. I was constantly thinking "I have to get up at 4:55am tomorrow." Usually I'd sleep constantly until 10 or 11. This morning, I woke up at 4:53am, 2 minutes before my alarm was to go off. Always happens when something important or fun is happening early the next day.

Anyone else experience this?

FL3P 11-22-2006 06:25 PM

I dont set my alarm. I always get up when I need to. I have to wake up at 5:30am every day which is not normal for me but I automatically wake at 5:30 almost on the dot no problem.

some jive turkey 11-22-2006 06:27 PM

To josiah

You still flat out ignored my specific question of about the Jazz clip on your web page. It's looking like you're not going to answer and I can only suppose they are Aebersold play along jazz tracks and that you won't admit it.

Seafroggys 11-22-2006 06:27 PM

crap, I leave for work in 50 minutes and there's still 5-10 more posts to be made on page 1968. :(

Loser 11-22-2006 06:28 PM

This is totally page 2952 to me, so you're okay.

Seafroggys 11-22-2006 06:31 PM

I can barley eat 2 big macs, so no...just stating a FUN CULTURAL FACT. Or whatever the hell you want to call it.

kdizze 11-22-2006 06:45 PM

oh touche. another FUN CULTURAL FACT is that every day, Americans eat an estimated 18 acres of pizza

Cocaberry 11-22-2006 06:54 PM

Pizza is awesome.

FL3P 11-22-2006 06:55 PM

Pizza rocks!

Seafroggys 11-22-2006 06:57 PM

**** yes!

1969.

The greatest year in music. Not only did you have Woodstock, but you had the release of the two greatest albums ever made: Abbey Road and Tommy.

Love live Rock!

Berk 11-22-2006 07:07 PM

Rather lame logo thingy...

Electric Requiem 11-22-2006 07:07 PM

That entire year was WAY overrated.
2953 is where its at.

Loser 11-22-2006 07:08 PM

Not only is that string a bad logo, that's a really bad name, assuming it's a name for a band/album or something.

Aaron 11-22-2006 07:14 PM

Some people would disagree.

Josiah 11-22-2006 07:20 PM

Hmm ya, way too many great albums to say any 2 are the best.
