Lunch 09-15-2005 01:00 PM

I just tried to send Disc 2 of Live at Leeds to everyone. Let me know if it works.

robo2448 09-15-2005 02:27 PM

Why is this not on the 1st page?

Lunch, I received the link. I didn't download it since I already own it, so I don't know if the link works, but the e-mail went through to me.

Anyway, I'm going to order Cream tickets tonight :D . My mom and dad finally agreed that my brother and I could go see them. What night should I try to get tickets for? Obviously, I'll be happy with anything, but I think Wednesday would be the best night. Which night do you guys think would be best?

Woodstock 09-15-2005 02:32 PM

I didn't get the link? :(

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-15-2005 02:37 PM

You're going to dish out that much for (most likely) crappy seats to see Cream? That's waaayyy to much to see any band if you ask me. :amaze:

If you go though I'd go on the last night just so you can say you went to the last Cream concert. Hope you get seats man. Last time didn't they sell out in like 4 hours or something?

I'm not digging Marquee Moon. The vocals annoy the hell out out of me. It's really a shame too; I really like the music.

The presale tickets went on sale like Monday, and they're still avaliable, so I guess not many people have American Express. I just have to wait for my mom to get home with her credit card.

I have a question about ticketmaster though. When the page that asks how you want them shipped, regular mail isn't an option. I'll have to pay an extra fee for shipping in addition to the surcharge. Anyone know if that extra fee is just because I'm getting them presale?

If it is, I might wait until Monday when they go on sale for the general public to buy tickets. My parents actually said they'd pay for the tickets, which completely shocked me, but I'm not sure if they'll go through on that.

Pfft, I've learned to shut out vocals if I dislike them.

Congrats on stars.

I would go to the last Cream concert because they'll probably do their best that night or the 2nd to last.

The vocals can get kind of annoying, but for the most part they add to the grungy feel of the album. Concentrate on the good guitarwork.

JonG 09-15-2005 02:49 PM

On the Jerry/Grisman conversation :)

Since last night I got "Garcia", "So What", "Jerry Garcia and David Grisman", "Old & In The Way", "Been All Around This World"

Have yet to give a listen to Been All Around This World.

Got it. Thanks a bunch. I'm going to listen now.

Lunch 09-15-2005 03:46 PM

Woodstock, IM me for the link. Don't know why it didn't work.

Robo? How much for the tickets and what section are you sitting in?

thickasabrick 09-15-2005 03:49 PM

I'd love to see Cream, but I'm not paying that much. I recently found out I spent 600 bucks in August on basically nothing (food, weed, and gas).

I thought the vocals were by far the weakest part of Marquee Moon. I wouldn't say they are like horrible, but the music so much better.

And I was too late on the White Light/White Heat download. It expired. My life is over. And Schyma....you described me as a blonde haired stoner. What makes you think I have blonde hair? You're not calling me dumb are you? (I have extremely brown hair)

Lunch 09-15-2005 03:51 PM

I think the blonde hair = stupid equation only applies to chicks.

Edit: On all the Ticket distrubors I'm looking at online (even the MSG homepage) Cream prices are ranging from $64.50 to $354.50. I'll definitely try to get tickets in that range.

I'm going to get the 64.50 ones. There behind the stage, but it doesn't really make much difference for Cream. It'll be amazing just to be there. I'll be ordering them sometime tonight. I just need my mom to give me her credit card number.

I'd probably pay up to about $150 (wait, are those prices in US dollars? Probably. I'm talking Canadian money) I'd wanna pay more, but I don't think my parents would understand. They don't like how much money I spend.

My parents are down but we don't have an American Express card. My only chance is to try to get them when they go on sale to everyone, and that may be too late.

thickasabrick 09-15-2005 04:11 PM

I'm just gonna sneak in.

edit- I'll tell them I'm Clapton.

As long as get on as soon as they go on sale, you should be able to get them. My mom has an American Express, but was hesitant about using it. She wanted to wait and use Visa because she can get miles from that, but I've managed to convince her that I need the tickets now.

My parents definitely wouldn't understand paying more. I probably wouldn't want to pay more either, even though it would be nice to face the stage. 65 bucks is a lot.

Lunch 09-15-2005 04:14 PM

My parents would pay probably $200-300 if it was necessary.

Wait, I thought the cheapest tickets were like 350 dollars? Did it turn out that site wasn't right or something?

If anyone wants anything...
I have Yellow Submarine and Blonde on Blonde on vinyl....but I wouldn't mind having them on my computer. Don't feel obliged to send them though just because of me, if more people ask then maybe you could send them. I've also wanted to hear Coldplay Live 2003, is it the same concert that they made the concert from that they always show on TV? That was a pretty good concert.

Apparently the last sites I checked a week or two ago were way off.

Hurray, theres hope yet! Thanks. :)

Lunch 09-15-2005 04:39 PM

Yea, so does anyone know what the deal is the the American Express presale thing. Is there a limited number of tickets they can sell or could the whole show sell out?

thickasabrick 09-15-2005 04:43 PM

Does anyone else think The Soft Parade is a better album than Morrison Hotel? I was quite surprised when I realized I like Soft Parade more. Soft Parade may have some cheesy sounding songs, but it is much more energetic and fits together better as an album. I find Morrison Hotel mainly sounds dead and tired, it's got good songs but there isn't the normal energy you find on most Doors albums. Peace Frog can tear apart anything from The Soft Parade though.
