Angry Balled Fists! 11-26-2005 05:34 PM

Add me Chris, eastern europe punx unite !!

:(:(

j/k

Night all, i'm gonna eat another Scone.

SOAD rule, i'm gonna have to get their new one sent to me tomorow.

B 11-26-2005 05:34 PM

Ha.

SOAD is really overrated here. As soon as they released a video for BYOB everyone around here started loving them, which is moronic because that's the only song half of them know.

cobert 11-26-2005 05:42 PM
/retracts PPOTM vote
Oh well, i sees how it be.

Ross 11-26-2005 06:07 PM

Hmm. I still think steal this album was their best album for the first few tracks. Most SOAD is crap. The two new albums are pretty good with a few good songs, but the first two were fairly crap tbh.

Untitled 11-26-2005 06:08 PM

Toxcity is the best from what ive heard, i pretty much hate there new stuff.

Gnarmageddon 11-26-2005 06:19 PM

Chris needs to send me new SOAD and The Poacher Diaries.

Untitled 11-26-2005 06:36 PM

I HAVE FOUND THE MOST AMAZING WEBSITE EVER.

The little milk carton, from the blur video, ive been in love with it since i first saw that video, and now ive discovered this http://www.milkyfan.com ITS AMAZING.

Mute Print 11-26-2005 06:44 PM

I need new System of a Down too.

billiejoe84 11-26-2005 07:12 PM

Evening, crew.

So, I think you guys should all have a listen to my band's new songs. We've recorded a few in practice recently and they're sounding pretty nice, if you discount the fact that my bassist is a poor singer at best, and I'm not much better. Other than that, tis teh roxx0r. I'm about to YSI some, all must listen.

Untitled 11-26-2005 07:14 PM

I will listen, when you uploaded.

My coffee tastes a bit like vodka

And is it sad if i get the Rebal Alliance logo tatooed upon my person, because star wars are the love of my life.

Mmmm, maybe it has vodka in it. Yeah.

Post a pic of the logo you're considering. I can't call it to mind at the moment.

Recordings and so forth:

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1VQTZY5QGZJYL0W43IFJNZ0EYJ - The Joy Of Rejection - the second song we ever wrote, and will probably be our set opener. All my composition  and I also sing on this. Yeah, secksi voice.

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=195WGAUSUBJWQ2VOKGWROTJ91V - Corporations Suck (working title) - A bit of a tongue-in-cheek look at chain stores and suchlike. This is the one we wrote in 10 minutes the other night, starring me on vocals for the chorus.

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1IZQGWVQ3EL833P7JDBFXBESMV - Afternoon Drinking - Our attempt at a ska song, composed with our old front man, George, but now with me taking over vocals. Particularly amusing is Rik (the bassist) attempting to do backing vocals on this. I may have to sit him down and drill into him the melody I'm singing.

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=152WHRWWLQXDL23NK99GV5J973 - Try To Survive - Another recent composition, which was built up from an acoustic demo by Rik into the rockin' beast you hear now. We've made a couple of changes to it since this recording, although nothing too noticeable. Rik (the idiot) sings on this. Likely to be our last song in a set owing to the manic ending.

And finally...

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=01KJM1252MRM53M2B1JP8UZQX1 - World Full Of Hate (Dropkick Murphys cover) Something we're throwing in to fill the set up and give our drummer a rest. Hear my pitiful attempts at harmonized backing vocals in the last chorus.

I insist upon everyone here having a listen to at least a couple o'songs.... It's only pop-punk, but you know you love it.

Please do... I want some comments/feedback.

Other than 'you guys suck' coz I already know that.

As for the Rebel Alliance thing, I say do it. It's not overtly Star Wars-geeky, like if you had a Vader helmet done or something, so most people will see it and just think it's a cool symbol or something. Which is nice. Having the Star Wars text logo done would mark you out as a nerd, which you don't want, but something subtle like that would be cool.

You guys sound pretty good James. I really like the intro to "Corporations Suck".

Butler: That's a cool logo. I wouldn't have even known it was Star Wars if you hadn't mentioned it.

Im kinda a star wars geek, a bad one though, to say i play the games so much, and the watch the films so much youd expect me to know crap loads, but i dont :-/

I think ill get that done after my ALk3 star thing, i dunno.

Oh, you guys suck :p

Surtr 11-26-2005 07:48 PM

You haven't listened to us yet!

Regarding geekiness: Can you use random quotes in everyday conversation? That's the sign of a true geek. I can do that with South Park, but that's OK coz SP is cool.

I reckon that's one of the best riffs I've written. Not that it takes much...

cobert 11-26-2005 07:50 PM

Im cool because i already know what the rebel symbol is without looking. Yeah, its cool, get it done.

My first tatoo will be the pennsylvania keystone symbol on my inner right wrist, then i might get either a coheed and cambria or thursday tatoo. I wouldnt get any other bands, though, since im almost positive these 2 bands will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Mute Print 11-26-2005 07:52 PM

I think I'd be afraid to get a tattoo. :(

James: That riff is awesome. It sounds a bit like Scary Kids Scaring Kids.

cbmartinez 11-26-2005 07:55 PM

Just got back from Hooters.

Spence and Brian, I will send you what you want tonight.

Mute Print 11-26-2005 07:56 PM

Thanks a lot Chris. You rule.

If anyone is interested, I need an article for my Expanding Your Tastes thread. Vince has been gone most of the week, but I still hope to get it up, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Untitled 11-26-2005 07:58 PM

Im crap scared of needles, and i have 3 tatoos i want to get done when i turn 18 in january. I might get the 5/10 year tatoos, then if i dont like them they'll go away, but i want the ALk3 star on my left inner wrist, and it surrounded by stars all around my wrist, and that rebel logo too. But, as i said i have an immence fear of needles, but im determind to get it done.

EDIT, i wouldnt mind the Blink182 smily face, like, behind my ear or something.

Can't say I know them except by name. It was inspired more by a Bigwig riff as I recall (might have been one of the ones from Sore Losers).

/me considers downloading some SKSK

Mute Print 11-26-2005 08:00 PM

That's why I think I'd be afraid to get a tattoo; I'm incredibly afraid of needles. I'm even terrified of getting a shot at the doctor's.

I'd like to get a couple tattoos done when I turn 18, but I don't know if I'll have the courage.

James: I don't really listen to Bigwig, so I wouldn't know. :p I think the part I was thinking of from SKSK might actually be done by a keyboard, but either way it sounds similar.
