Haha, oh that's funny, we found a bit of fish down the back of the radiator in our maths classroom last year, we almost had all the lesson off because half the class were trying to get rid of it, and another part of the fish was put in the teacher's desk drawer.
That's ok, i got my dad to help me with it instead. I wish i was still in bed, i'm still wearing my pijamas, i watched The Ring last night and it was quite scary, but it's a brilliant film, i got to bed at 12:00 but i wasn't really that tired, so i read a whole bog before i went to sleep. 3:00 i got to sleep.
That's pretty fishy. You must live in England, eh? |

I do indeed. Very nice it is too. You from the US? 15 Minutes Late - "Is This How You Feel" |
Last night they showed every episode of the Hitch Hicker's Guide original TV series back to back.
/me watched it haven't seen the movie yet, though. Is the movie, for those who know, just the first book like the whole TV series, or all four books? Or the fifth aswell? |
Just the first. And it follows Adam's script rather than the book.
Considering he wrote a lot of different versions, I guess i shouldnt have expected it to follow the book in any case. And the TV series I though followed the first 3? I know they reach the Restaraunt at least in the series. |

15 Minutes Late - "Is This How You Feel"
Yes I am. It's 8:07 AM here in California...I'm moving away from my parents to Kentucky this summer. Good stuff. I was going to go see the movie, but I figured..."eh...Amityville Horror". |
You're right to be apprehensive about the Guide film. I didn't like it much, but I'd still recommend seeing it..I won't say more for now, until you've seen it
[Mos Def was]Very American/Canadian, and yet still claiming to be from Guildford. I got the impression he hadn't actually read the books beforehand :-/ Some of the lines/scenes he had just didn't seem to work. Basically, don't go seeing it expecting a dramatisation of the book. The basic concept and characters are there, but the plot has been somewhat torn apart, added to, taken away from, changed, etc. I want to avoid using negative words like "mangled" because the changes aren't necesssarily negative (i.e. it might still be likeable as a film separate from the books), but from the perspective of a fan of the books, it isn't the Guide.
I'm not really looking forward to seeing it :-/ |

Pretty cool. My sister and nan are going to CA sometime in the future to see my great: uncle, aunt and cousin. I'm very jealous because we both love to surf, and my sister gets to go and i don't. It's 4:20pm over here. |
I was pretty surprised by the Hitch-hiker's film. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it was nothing like what I was expecting. It seemed more like an unusually long episode of a TV series than a movie. It didn't end, it just sort of....stopped.
Zaphod was nothing like how I imagined him. The actor playing him was very good though, as were Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel. Entertaining though, and very funny in places. Like Bartender said, I'd recommend it, but it's definitely very seperated from the book. And, obviously, the book is better. I think this is the first time I've ever posted in here. Hey everyone. |

I don't have AudioScrobbler.
I'm so non-conformist. |
I don't have Audioscrobbler, maybe I should get it.

Sometimes Rockwell seemed to go over the top with the goofiness angle. Someone elsewhere on the forums mentioned Jeff Bridges, and I agree he would have made a pretty good Zaphod. Glad you liked Deschanel, though.
I think this is the first time I've ever posted in here. Hey everyone.
Hi :) My weekly audioscrobbler charts; Artists: 1. The Wildhearts (85) 2. I wish my PC was good enough to hold all that music.
I've started playing albums through my PC now, just to make my Audioscrobbler a bit more representative. And to take advantage of the Now Playing feature on MSN, of course. |

Is Bartender on?
I have this article that I think would be very interesting to the musicians and the heavy metal fans on the forum that I got off a college database called JSTOR. It's an amazing article and should not be missed, but it's quite lengthly: about 35 pages of text. I was wondering if it would be considered against the rules to copy and paste something so lengthly into the thread. I linked them to the article at first, forgetting that my school has access to the database while others don't. I tried uploading a document in Word but not everybody has it. This seems to be the best way to do it. Would that be all right? |
I have to use my AKA, cause I changed my email :(

Alright, problem fixed, so what's up other than AS everybody?

I don't know if copy-pasting the whole thing would really be feasible with that much text, though..how many posts do you reckon it would take (10,000 words per post)?
I wish my PC was good enough to hold all that music. I've started playing albums through my PC now, just to make my Audioscrobbler a bit more representative. Audioscrobbler does annoy me sometimes, though, as I always feel like I've listened to a lot more than what it shows. Also, I just noticed this;
Artists: ... 6. Gordian Knot (29) 7. I noticed that too.
Yeah, my PC sucks, but I'm getting a new one soon. Just in time for university, funnily enough. |

Did you donwload the plugin... not saying you're dumb, just curious. |
I think I did. I know the one I have is for Winamp but maybe there is o0ne for older versions of winamp. The plugin is in my plugins folder of Winamp because I can see it there.
I downloaded that, but it's really hard to read. It has a really squashed font.
Here's what I did: I expanded the size of the pages to be more readable (they were gif files), and so that you could see the music better. I posted a new link in the thread and am going to start a new one with the link to the website and the article in question. Tell me if it works, metal guitar. If it doesn't, and you were able to download it on Word, just zoom in inside the program. I'm sorry that this is proving such a strenuous thing. Copy and pasting is out, Bartender. |

http://www.winamp.com download the new version, it has more features, and if you don't like the skin, you can set it back to classic skins, but keep the features, so it's really a win win situation. |
Eleventeen: I don't usually listen to KoRn, but I was in a Nu metal mood all of a sudden, and I do like their singles. The rest not so much though.

Screw it, guys. That article is apparently not going to be read by anybody but me anytime soon. :(
Close the thread unless some other idea pops up. I'm sad now. |
