Pete 01-07-2010 11:42 PM

does that mean The Faceless rip off Necrophagist? i've never bothered with The Faceless.

adb 01-07-2010 11:44 PM

the faceless started out as a Necrophagist cover band

they don't really sound that much a like aside from using descending scales

Aaron 01-07-2010 11:45 PM

They all sound like Fleetwood Mac.

Pete 01-07-2010 11:47 PM

i've never bothered with Fleetwood Mac.

2muchket! 01-07-2010 11:47 PM

They sound like Creed tbh.

The Faceless sound as much like Necrophagist as any other technical death metal band really. They're worth a listen Pete.

2muchket! 01-08-2010 01:22 AM

I actually don't mind them now.

Dimmu Burger 01-08-2010 01:23 AM

I like them quite a bit actually.

Pete 01-08-2010 01:44 AM

i know i had "akeldama" (sp?) on my harddrive before it crashed, just never occured to me to listen to it or to download it again once i lost it. but i might. i do like noodly and brutal metal.

Jaundice 01-08-2010 01:45 AM

hmm, the red chord are playing here in a month

Pete 01-08-2010 01:47 AM

is "fed through the teeth machine" good? i loved "fused together", didn't care for "clients" but absolutely loved "prey for eyes", but i haven't found "fed" on any blogs (for the 15 minutes i spent searching for it)

Jaundice 01-08-2010 01:50 AM

ive had it for a month or two but havent listened yet

2muchket! 01-08-2010 01:59 AM

For me it's as good as 'Fused'.

Pete 01-08-2010 01:59 AM

that's a good grade, i shall have to aqcuire this albump

Dimmu Burger 01-08-2010 02:11 AM
i do like noodly and brutal metal.
I'd download it again or get their newer one, Planetary Duality then.

this

thugangel123 01-08-2010 02:41 AM

Did eternal lord and parkway drive. Good stuff. suffokate isn't that bad either.

Dimmu Burger 01-08-2010 02:48 AM

Parkway Drive is quite good, Eternal Lord is/was meh.

2muchket! 01-08-2010 02:49 AM

I like old Eternal Lord for nostalgia.

Parkway are really generic but I listen to them every once in a while for a fun listen. They're also metalcore.

Suffokate are really boring.

Pete 01-08-2010 02:49 AM

members of Suffokate were in Hacksaw to the Throat and Antagony at one point or another, that's the best thing about them

2muchket! 01-08-2010 02:51 AM

Hacksaw to the Throat were so good.

Pete 01-08-2010 02:58 AM

yes. you should check out Antagony as well, although they apparently released a new album last year that i haven't heard, so i can't vouch for that. but i am really anxious to hear that as well now.

2muchket! 01-08-2010 03:05 AM

For you pete I will do exactly that.

nah man, just wanna know what you think of akeldama

thugangel123 01-08-2010 06:26 AM

Glad to see people replying. Suffokate is pretty generic but I haven't exactly listened to many deathcore bands so 2-3 songs from them did capture my interest.

Parkway drive is pretty kickass and I like the growlish/grind vocals on eternal lord.

Which band should I go for next? Annotations of an Autopsy? As blood runs black?

Pete 01-08-2010 07:01 AM

parkway drive really aren't deathcore, they're just your run of the mill metalcore.

for deathcore bands, i'd suggest Camilla Rhodes http://www.myspace.com/camillarhodes, Within the Ruins http://www.myspace.com/withintheruins, Whitechapel http://www.myspace.com/whitechapel and Despised Icon http://www.myspace.com/despisedicon.
