Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2007 07:56 AM

I find The Wall a little boring in places, but not DSOTM.

Riva 02-26-2007 07:59 AM

But you're a feeble minded cockroach, Jono. :-*

Jacaranda 02-26-2007 08:00 AM

I really like the first 10 or so songs on The Wall then I just kind of lose interest. With DSotM there is no interest to begin with, well maybe during "Money" but that goes away once the song is over, oh and during "Brain Damage" and "Eclipse" but even halfway during those songs I usually change it to Piper....

One step up the ladder from a cane toad, Jason. :-*

Riva 02-26-2007 08:02 AM

It'll be on very soon, Jono. How're you going to act? :-*

Would you guys say the Live at Pompeii dvd is worth getting? I don't know too much about it yet but the few clips ive seen look great.

(sorry to change subject)

Riva 02-26-2007 08:04 AM

It's my favourite live performance by them, despite the fact it's not live, per se, and more of a documentary that a concert. Get it, definitely.

Then you can laugh at "I like to think oysters transcend nationalities" with Jono and I.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2007 08:04 AM

Live At Pompeii is cool, although I find it a little boring at times but that happens to me with the majority of Music DVDs. I say get it.

Although when I saw it I wasn't as heavily into PF as I am currently so I want to see it again.

Hopefully like a winner -_-

Hahaha.

Thanks guys, I hope to join in on this oyster joke soon :).

Riva 02-26-2007 08:28 AM

You'll love it, it's in one of the interviews, the second segment I think. The band are eating oysters and pissing off the guy interviewing them.

-Listy- 02-26-2007 08:32 AM

Haha I can imagine Roger and the others winding up an interviewer :p.

Wow that's...terrible. Money is the one song I usually skip when I listen to DSOTM.

MattSharpIsCool 02-26-2007 05:34 PM

I've never gotten bored listening to Darkside. I could understand how someone could, it's not the most upbeat of albums, but I never get tired of it.

The Wall can be a bit of a drag sometimes.

rippa32 02-26-2007 09:04 PM

Yer I found the wall to be like a very deep movie. It can be quite depressing too.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-26-2007 09:13 PM

I find it too emotionally draining to watch often, so I haven't even fully absorbed it all tbh.

That movie is ****ing devastating. The first time I watched it I almost cried during Comfortably Numb... Granted alcohol can provoke emotions you normally would never bother with haha.

Zebra 02-26-2007 09:20 PM

I still need to watch it.

MattSharpIsCool 02-26-2007 09:49 PM

The movie is pretty good, but it can be a bit much to take in. I've watched it about five times now, and I still don't understand parts of it.

Hey I almost cried listening to the album version, and I was sober.

Riva 02-26-2007 10:38 PM

Yeah, I still find nuances of it everytime I watch it. My sister was too disturbed by the shaving scene to keep watching, but my girlfriend and my friend have both quite liked it.

MattSharpIsCool 02-26-2007 11:31 PM

I've never really been "disturbed" by the movie, but I've heard a lot of people were freaked out by it. I don't understand that, but eh.

I think my favorite part of the movie would be the chorus in "Comfortably Numb" with the video of young Pink and the rat. The huge meadow and bright lighting, directly after the somber, dark verses, just fits that part of the song perfectly.

Leper 02-27-2007 03:05 AM

I wasn't really disturbed by it but it is pretty depressing.

Riva 02-27-2007 06:24 AM

The decaying flesh that he peels off to reveal the new, fascist Pink is what disturbs a lot of people.

rippa32 02-27-2007 07:07 AM

That didn't bother me so much, what really got to me was the war themed ones, I don't know why but the same thing happened with the album. Also seeing that rat dead was really sad because pink obviously cared about it.

MattSharpIsCool 02-27-2007 09:06 AM

The rat dying was probably the saddest part of that movie.

rippa32 02-27-2007 07:42 PM

I dunno, the entire second bit of When The Tigers Broke Free was pretty emotional.

Agreed. Very sad. By the way, is it a football field Pink is running across when he finds the rat? It looked like an american football field to me, which obviously doesn't make much sense.

rippa32 02-27-2007 08:14 PM

Mmm id have to have a look again. The way to tell the difference is if its H shaped goals its Rugby and if its Y shaped its american football.

Riva 02-27-2007 08:54 PM

It's a Union/League field.

MattSharpIsCool 02-27-2007 09:31 PM

Ya it's a rugby field.

And ok I will agree with the "When The Tigers Broke Free" part. That is such an amazing song.
