rippa32 06-03-2005 07:50 PM

Ive just found N.I.B intro live. Its sounds alot better than the studio version.

shadow_stalker 06-04-2005 05:30 AM
You sir are an idiot. There has been only 3 singers for Black Sabbath.
Its a great lil bass solo, I kinda improvise one like it when my band plays NIB.

JACKROXYOU 06-04-2005 10:55 AM

i wish my bass could do that solo

it wold complete the song

shadow_stalker 06-04-2005 02:23 PM

I wish my band played any songs like that...except paranoid which we never play live.

Brew 06-04-2005 02:37 PM

My band is covering NIB, Iron Man and Hole in the Sky. I wanted to do some Dio stuff but my singer doesn't like his voice or lyrics.

Bah.

shadow_stalker 06-04-2005 02:44 PM

You have no idea how lucky you are Andy...

Brew 06-04-2005 04:01 PM

I s'pose, but I'd love to cover some Dio stuff.

Ah well.

rippa32 06-04-2005 07:55 PM

Yes Dio is very underrated. Especially his solo band, which is awesome.

Brew 06-05-2005 07:45 AM

His work with Rainbow is incredible.

Also, the stuff he was doing before joining Rainbow (Eleves, Elf etc...) is also pretty good.

Ahoy Lord Brumm!
I reckon your singer doesn't like his voice cos it's too good and he can't sing like that! Always easier to say "Nah, I don't really like that" than "I can't do it "
Geezer is a great bassist - I love the bass lines in Die Young. I got flamed on another thread cos I said that I liked Geezer better than Entwistle of the Who. Don't care tho' - I still like him a lot better. So there, Who fans.
Ps who needs a drummer? Me drummer. :)

Can you play good, and can you record?
Can you play good, and can you record?
I spend most of my time playing Nightwish stuff - that and old Dio. I am by no means the greatest drummer, (even if I were I would never say so) but I can hold down a beat, do some double bass pedalling and have a pretty good repertoire of fills. When you say record, we have an old analogue 8 track that we use - I intend to go digital very soon. :)

So there's no way you could get it onto your computer?
So there's no way you could get it onto your computer?
Sorry about the delay in replying - I had to go off and fix a bed! Yes, really. And almost ended my drumming career in double-quick time too - nearly had my index finger torn from the knuckle by the chuck key. I am now sporting a large plaster over a deep gash in a painfully swollen 1st knuckle. Such is life. :upset:
It doesn't sound like it at pres - unless anyone knows how to convert stuff on analogue tape to something digital that a computer can upload. Makes me wish I'd done something about a soundcard and Cubase quicker.

Brew 06-05-2005 09:19 AM

Cubase is pwnage, if anyone has it it'd be a real help for programming the drums, I can do it easily.

Depending on how long we have to do this cover project, I'm back at school on the 20th of this month so I can spend my free lessons in the music tech room programming the drums providing I can get a tab/score. I could even record the bass at school.

I have Cubase but due to a certain sound card exploding I have not got around to using it yet :upset:

Brew 06-05-2005 09:42 AM

We have SX3 at school

I only really figured out how to use everything in it towards the end of the AS course, so next year should be a piece of cake.

Brew 06-05-2005 04:38 PM

So I've had an idea for our cover...

Instead of do The Warning...why not do Heaven and Hell, the version thats on Live Evil?

We could do it how they do it, play a chunk of H&H, then part of Sign of the Southern Cross, then back into H&H. If we really wanted we could finish it with Paranoid.

That'd clock in at easily 25mins, if we pull it off well we'd win for sure amirite?

Or

We could do the Sign of the Southern Cross/Heaven and Hell/Paranoid medley as found on Live Evil, that'd be good.

Brew 06-06-2005 02:17 AM

bump so the regs see the thread.

rippa32 06-06-2005 06:21 AM

If youre going to finish with a well known ozzy era song, why not go with NIB? with bass solo included.

Brew 06-06-2005 11:41 AM

Could do, its one of my fav. Sabbath songs to play.
