Feel free to use it.
I deeply appreciate the offer even if I probably won't use it. However if I were to make myself a W/IFS shirt, I'd probably use that stencil. |
I was skeptical on making a jacket anyways. I don't care at all how it looks, it's just a jacket. I wasn't gonna spend a lot of time on it.
|
I enjoy on improving on my DIY skills such as stenciling and sewing. I don't think I could ever bring myself to paint on a leather jacket, though. They're very expensive, and then you can't sell it. Besides, my leather jacket is actually still technically my mom's, so it's not up to me to ruin it.
That's exactly why I'm not getting a leather to patch and paint on, I don't trust my skills. I'll stick to denim and fabric. I just got a Dickies jacket for Christmas, but I'm not going to put patches or anything on it because it looks too nice, but I may put a couple buttons. |

Doesn't really matter that it's from hot topic, I'm going to wear it. However, I'm not going to patch it all up, either. I have one jacket that the patches are dedicated to, and after that I pretty much make shirts or patches by reqest/payment from friends. I have a button maker, but haven't used it in quite a while. I should pull that out sometime. |
This is my first stenciled t-shirt its not that great(its very blotchy)...
http://img470.imageshack.us/img470/121/blackflagt3mg.jpg Then this is a vest that im planing on designing, but I have no good ideas... suggestions please...(Its more orange than red because I had to use the flash) http://img369.imageshack.us/my.php?image=check7mx.jpg |
I need to find me a button maker sometime.
Me too. |

Me too.
It's like a giant graph paper. |
Any ideas on what I could use on it? (paint, patches, studs...)

I'd probably limit it to patches and buttons on a vest like that. |
i have an old army jacket that i am patching up. i currently have a NOFX patch and a DKM patch but am planning on putting on some more makeshift stuff.

My next stencil I'm working on:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/asdf23/gogol.jpg so far so good. |
You should put the Terricloth stencil on the back of your WI/FS shirt.
|
I made a shirt recently, using spray paint. And no matter what I do it wont stop reeking of spraypaint, I don't minda lil smell, but it is REALLY bad. I was wondering if there was a way to permenantly get the smell out?

How much spray did you use? What you should do is spray it really lightly, then wait half an hour til it dries (or however long it takes psray paint to dry), then another light layer, and that should be enough. |

She's a keeper. |
How do you cut out stencils?
|
How do you cut out stencils?
Use either a razor or an exacto knife. Theres other things you could use, probably like a really sharp knife, but a razor of some sorts is really the easiest to use. |
Xacto knives are wonderful, just make sure it's sharp.
|
Xacto knives are wonderful, just make sure it's sharp.
agreed. |
Argh, so far all I've used to cut out stencils is a pair of nail scissors as they're the sharpest things in the house, besides all the giant kitchen knives... There's nowhere around me that sells Xacto knives.
I really wouldn't recommend (sp?) using nail scissors at all, they're pretty accurate but it takes hours to cut out big stencils :upset: |
Here's the result from my most recent stenciling
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/asdf23/gogolbordello.jpg It's just a practice, so it's a bit messy. I put on too much paint, but next time I'll know better. |
..so today i found my leather vest thing, from about 2 years ago (when i was going through a faze in which i thought i was pUnK RaWk)..anyway, i do realize that most of the bands on my jacket suck, but overall i thought i did a pretty good job, here are some bad photos i took of it. and is there a place i can sell this jacket?

In England I think they're called Stanley Knives. You can get them from any DIY shop like B&Q or Homebase.
