No, I meant in realtion to other bands (as in we are comparing to great bands, and though Pink Floyd is better imo, Yes is still superior to the majority of bands). I think the only aspect Yes might be more technically talented than Pink Floyd is bass.

I prefer Waters' songwriting too, but as far as bass playing goes, Squire is far better.

Well, Waters never really considered himself a bassist, I think. He was more of a singer who added the bass lines.

Gilmour v. Howe is a tougher call though, since they are so distinctly different, but I am still a fan of Gilmour's emotional channeling in his playing.

Technically, I think Howe easily beats Gilmour.

I'd take gilmour over howe any day.

I think technically it may be true, but Yngwie is technically talented too, so that shows what technical talent means...

I think Howe is a great player, especially live, but I still prefer Gilmour's style.

I'd take Gilmour over most, and that includes modern guys.
