Unlikely. They may with Gigantour unless they already have and after Gigantour they're splitting up.
Dave is going to disband Megadeth again?

clairvoyant 08-27-2005 11:34 AM

Yep, after this tour its just gonna be Daves solo stuff.

lightningmetal666 08-27-2005 11:44 AM

WTF??!!!!

I thought that dave was all ready to redo Megadeth now that he recovered from his arm injury.
Now that just blows. :upset:

Nope, the System Has Failed was actually gonna be a Dave Mustaine solo album but he owed Sanctuary one more Megadeth cd, so that became it.

RustedPieces 08-27-2005 01:36 PM

There is a possibility of Dave continuing Megadeth, that's what he's been saying.

Jev 08-27-2005 01:58 PM

Yeah, at Download he was like "I'm sure i'll see you all again." That could mean he's sticking with Megadeth or he's focusing on MD.45.

Bazarov 08-27-2005 08:20 PM

Dave just said on Headbangers' right now that he would love for Gigantour to be an annual event, which would be great, considering some people have been telling me that Dave said Gigantour was just going to be a one time thing.

That'd be great. I like them. Do they have a new album on the way any time soon?

Like an Ozzfest? That'd be awesome.

Depends if Mustaine wants to continue Megadeth. If he does, I think a new album woule be at least 18 months away.

Yeah it would, but he didn't say if it was going to be Megadeth or MD45 that would be headlining. Hopefully it would be Megadeth. Is MD45 any good? I haven't heard any of their songs.

Sweet. I don't have any megadeth albums, just various songs. I need a few

Megadeth would be good. Maybe some other big metal bands (i doubt Metallica) maybe Iron Maiden, CoB, In Flames, etc. I don't know.

Metallica and Megadeth would be an awesome show, especially if they added Slayer to that show aswell. But I'm sure there'd be fan-boy disputes and ruin the atmosphere. Maiden or Children of Bodom would be just as great too. If he does do gigantour. Or actually I'd love to see the band line-up from the Marty era.

lightningmetal666 08-28-2005 12:11 AM

Whoa, like that would be great if the bill was Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Maiden, etc. etc.

I would have to sell my left nut to get tix for that show.

Heck yea!

I'd do anything to see a concert with Menza and Friedman again.

lightningmetal666 08-28-2005 12:18 AM

Hey It'd be great if Dave, Chris and Marty all shared the same stage at the same time.

It would be something like the G3 tours. Metal shred at its finest. :thumb:

MAthiAS 08-28-2005 12:28 AM

I think its weird to think that Dave and Glen and even Petrucci were not very impressive at Gigantour, when you consider how well Jeff Loomis and Michael Romeo played. Loomis can shred as well as anyone I've ever seen, he's so underrated.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-28-2005 12:33 AM

I can't see Slayer going on Gigantour. Didn't Dave and Kerry King have some cat-fight?

gocaps: Get Rust in Peace. Classic, although try get the original, I'm not to keen on the remaster.

Indeed, I'd say try to get every original that was made in the 1990s.

Peace Sells and SFSGSW (and KIMB) remasters > the originals

but the rest of the originals are better than the remasters imo

Mother 08-28-2005 12:39 AM

Next year hopefully gigantour will get bigger, all the maiden fans are boycotting ozzfest...hahaha.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-28-2005 12:55 AM

None of the albums needed the remastering except KIMB, which had already been done in 2002.

MAthiAS 08-28-2005 01:24 AM

^^SFSGSW did.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-28-2005 01:32 AM

I guess. Not desperatly though.

MAthiAS 08-28-2005 01:33 AM

The Five Magics remaster totally massacred the song. He even sung the wrong lyric once in it.

RustedPieces 08-28-2005 01:35 AM

The Take No Prisoners re-master also isn't as good as the original.

Chu 08-28-2005 05:57 AM
Jason started playing when he was 5, how about you?
lol.. Well.. I didn't start until 16, and even then I never really played it much. It wasn't until I was 18 when I really started playing...

Jev 08-28-2005 06:34 AM

So that's 13 years of catching up to do...

I cmpletley agree, Jeff loomis is incredibly underrated. I love his solos so much, so technical and fluent. The solo in I Voyager is completely mind blowing.

I don't like the vocals in take no prisoners or five magics remaster. Dave sings the wrong lyrics, the secondary vocals sound very weird, and they just aren't as badass as the original songs

Jev 08-28-2005 09:16 AM

I preferred the re-master of TNP.

Loomis is good, but he's no Rusty Cooley.
