almost everyone named josh in my grade gets called by their last name because 3 of them have alot of the same classes together.
In one of my classes I have four Jons (we were all lined up in the back row one time, it was awesome). In two classes there are three Lons. In two classes there are two Jons.

I still manage to get called Jon the majority of the time.

So this is going to be my last post for a while, since the computer I am on at the moment sucks and is mega slow. Honestly, I feel sorry for anyone still using Windows 98. It's slow, does "illegal operations" all the time (I just finished writing a post, and Firefox crashed. Fucker!). Anyway yeah, I have to get my computer fixed properly this time.

The rock gig put on by my music tech group went well last night. There were 3 really good bands who I liked watching from my high seat in the lighting and sound booth, one of whom had a 10 year old bassist. Honestly, his amp was massive, it was insane. The other 2 probably needed more practise, but not much went wrong that night. Also, I got a backstage pass which I still have, which was awesome. My friend Bob and his 2 mates were on security, which was funny because they were just annoying people mostly and sitting around while other people in the hall were fighting. One of them threw 2 people out though, which was funny to watch apparently.

Today was decent as well, besides the obvious computer breaking. I finished school at 11:30, since the music rooms at NK were being used for exams. Anyway, we had to do a synopsis for our own movie, and then storyboard a trailer. Mine is about this motel where 3 events happen which sort of overlap each other, and it's like Reservoir Dogs style, since a lot of it is flashbacks and stuff. I think it's good, and it took me about an hour to write.

Anyway, see you all around in like a week maybe.

Are you sure?

Com'mon, live a little.

Angry Balled Fists! 11-25-2005 01:24 PM

Yeah, Against Dan! would probs be what it would be.

I might just add an exclamation mark, then it has bits of both bands.

I'm off now to get ready to play Badminton, night.

cobert 11-25-2005 01:27 PM

Bye kif.

Some special ed teacher at my school might start a sort of 'rock club' after school, which i will join because i have nothing better to do. He won a grammy for writing some bruce springsteen song a few years ago.

omg

Well, just got finished band practice, which was rather amusing. My bassist was being a complete retard throughout... I dunno how many arguments I can have with him about music theory which don't involve him acting totally patroinising and exasperated with me, and then realising that I'm actually right and hastily backtracking, but there have been another couple added to the list today... One, amusingly, was over what the 5th of G is. I might buy him a book about music theory for beginners and complete retards, just for not knowing this.

/rant

cobert 11-25-2005 03:34 PM

Isnt the 5th of G a D?

I dont know anything about music theory either, but i know what a fifth is.

billiejoe84 11-25-2005 03:39 PM
Isnt the 5th of G a D?
Yes. Immediately making your music theory knowledge better than that of my bassist. He thought it was a B.

It's a good thing I write the riffs, that's all I can say. Generally, if he writes a song in lyrical form, and then writes a chord progression to go with it, it'll just switch between two adjacent powerchords, for example D and E. Then I just tear it to bits and go 'Right, an A will fit the melody better there, and a F#m should replace the E for a bar there...' and so forth, and then we play it and it sounds so much better.

He's a funny chap.

Funny, cause in my band its the other way around. The guitarist knows everything about music, but writes the 2 chord progressions and crappy repetitive riffs and i, knowing little about music, change it around to sound better.

Untitled 11-25-2005 03:56 PM

Apparently im filming a media video on sunday, i play bass in it,

cobert 11-25-2005 04:02 PM

Cool.

I want to start a hardcore band sooooooo bad. Nobody else really like hardcore, so im screwed.

Mute Print 11-25-2005 04:03 PM

It would be so fun to play in a hardcore band.

Gnarmageddon 11-25-2005 04:09 PM
It would be so fun to play in a hardcore band.
Yeah, that would be sweet. Most of my friends are into hardcore and stuff, but none of them play instruments.

Mute Print 11-25-2005 04:11 PM

I don't know anyone who's into hardcore or who plays an instrument.

I don't even really play an instrument... :(

cobert 11-25-2005 04:16 PM

Well, learn to play bass. Everyone playds guitar.

So some kid the other day told me hardcore is a type of metal, and hardcore punk is an oxymoron. I dont think he knows what an oxymoron is. And then he didnt believe me wen i said metalcore is a mix of hardcore punk and metal. THen he said emo was 'my girlfriend left me so ill kill myself' music. Then i told him to download some heroin. true story.

Mute Print 11-25-2005 04:19 PM

I'm already learning guitar...

The more I think about it, the more I wish I would have tried bass instead.

Untitled 11-25-2005 04:25 PM

I picked bass because im a noncomformist

HomeCatMickey8 11-25-2005 04:26 PM

I started out with bass, it made my fingers strong... I still suck at guitar, though.

Untitled 11-25-2005 04:27 PM

I can play both well, bass better as its my main instrument and i take my bass onto guitar, its made me a better soloer on guitar.

HomeCatMickey8 11-25-2005 04:30 PM
I can play both well, bass better as its my main instrument and i take my bass onto guitar, its made me a better soloer on guitar.
I haven't played bass in a while. It doesn't help that my equipment sucks.

Untitled 11-25-2005 04:32 PM

My equipment is ok, crap bass good amp, makes it ok.

My stupid media friends picked a song i cant find tabs for. go them.

cobert 11-25-2005 04:36 PM
I'm already learning guitar...

I can play both, but bass is more fun. ANd its not like its too late to switch, brian. Buy a cheap bass to start, a used one even.

Oh snap, i wrote hxc riffage. Check this progression:

G:-7--9--10-
D:-8--10-12-

Thats just a progression though. I have more, i just dont feel like showing you. That progressions almost uplifting to hear.

I endorse this message.

And bassists dont suck at music, drummers do. Most of them, anyways.

MY DRUMMER: 'I dont get 3/4 time'.

LAWL. Nah, he's pretty god though still, he just doenst like different time signatures.
I endorse this message.

"A singing drummer? That's like a talking monkey!" - My bassist.

It's so rare to find a bassist that's actually good though. Far rarer than a decent drummer. Bassists tend to be so lame and just follow the guitar. How utterly bland and useless.

My bassist is good technically, but he can't write **** for his life. When I tell him not to follow the guitar, he just plays the note that I'm playing and then adds another note or two before I switch chords. Laaammmeee.
