I think the Beatles thread has enough trouble surviving already even without us posting Beatles related things in the CR thread.....just a thought:-/

Yea I know what you mean :/ Lately though, there haven't been many topics I feel like adding to. It's been arguing, the Stones, vinyls, half of the recent discussion hasn't even been about the Beatles. It turns me away from the thread whenever I go in there. NP: I Saw Her Standing There |
I don't think the Stones have been mentioned lately in the Beatles thread. I haven't even mentioned them for along time there.
Ugh I've been listening to the Doors lately. Just their self titled, its the only one I like. |
Yeah I guess most of the recent topics of been loosely related to the Beatles at best.
I love the Doors so bloody much. Strange Days is currently my favourite album by them. |

What happened to the page numbers? Are they different for anyone else?
I burned out on the Doors but they're a good listen on occasion. When The Music's Over is epic. |
I prefer The End over WTMO. The guitar in it really tends to make my mind wander.
|
I just don't like The End. It rambles too much and gets a bit boring. Morrison's voice is top-notch in WTMO which is something i can grab ahold of and listen to.
|
Hmm fair enough. It does ramble a bit, but something about that song, maybe the guitar, just always keeps interested.
Anyone here a fan of the Tragically Hip? I know they're not that big in the U.S. but up here they're often referred to as "Canada's Beatles." I don't think they really compare to the Beatles at all, but that just gives you an idea of how popular they are here. |
They're not bad. I have Road Apples.
|
Our radio stations are so obsessed with them it seems that I don't even feel a need to buy any of their albums. I like them, but they definitely get overplayed.
|
Tragocally Hip sounds familiar.
|
Their most famous song is "New Orleans is Sinkin'"...ring any bells?
"New Orleans is sinkin' man and I don't wanna swim!" Hmmm?... |
They are going to be at Sasquatch! I'm sooo excited.
|
I've seen them mentioned before in here but other than that I've never heard of them. I guess it's just a northern thing, just like Bruce Springsteen. (but I'm hoping they're not as bad)
|
The Tragically Hip are pretty good, my sister has one of their albums. Blow At High Dough is a great song.
|
I've been on a Doors kick lately. Their first album is brilliant.
/puts it on One of the things I love so much about The Doors is they just had this primal, unbridled passion, just so much energy.
Their first album is perfect in my eyes. Its by far one of the greatest albums ever, definitly in my top ten. |

Yea, I thought wit was in the 1960s yesterday, but now it's on 2951. |
Yea, I thought wit was in the 1960s yesterday, but now it's on 2951.
Same here. I hate when it does that. I'm not a huge fan of the Doors' self-titled. I much prefer Morrison Hotel. I like the bluesier sound more. |

They make the boss look more like the janitor. /lame If YSI ever worked for me I'd upload a bunch of their songs, but ya know... |
Did you all download Youth?
I just downloaded: Grateful Dead - Winterland Arena 10-18-78 Grateful Dead - Barton Hall, Cornell University 05-08-77 Mickey Hart - Rolling Thunder Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul |
Hey guys, I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I just got a.com working with my forum, and I'd like to spread the word! :)
 You got banninated!
Yeah, I saw that. Haha. I think I may start posting more over there. It just moves so slow. I can't even stand it when MX moves slowly. |
That's what happens when you advertise.
It's funny because I'm a mod at that forum.
Yeah, I saw that. Haha. I think I may start posting more over there. It just moves so slow. I can't even stand it when MX moves slowly.
It wouldn't move so slow if more people posted there. logic ++ I just listened to Abbey Road again. I still like Rubber Soul better. |
It's funny because I'm a mod at that forum.

Isn't Livewired one too? |
Isn't Livewired one too?
Yes. And so is Lunch. |
ha I'm like the only regular on the forum who isn't a mod. Just me and Veedbok I think.
PinkFreud, post there! I prefer Strange Days to the Doors s/t. I have no idea what you guys are talking about and I'm too lazy to read back more posts, but I thought I'd just share that. np: Tea Leaf Green- Incandescent |
I'm confused. What's a mod in this case?
|
I'm confused. What's a mod in this case?
They're talking about a completely different site. |
Moderator. Deletes, closes, moves topics. Sorts out spam..
The good stuff. I've been Mod on many sites and Admin as well.
Ah, now it makes sense. I honestly thought he was refering to the "mod" classic rock scene. |
/starts a new topic.
Today as I was converting Lou Reed's Rock N Roll Animal into MP3 from vinyl I just realized something. This man is god. I've heard velvet underground before (I have a best of along with Loaded) but he just seems so much better on his own. Anyone else here a huge fan of his? (I remember someone talking about him recently) |
I much prefer his work with the VU. It just comes together so much more for me. Plus he put out so much trash on his own that maybe the short life of the group was a blessing.
|

yeah, when he put out bad stuff, it was REALLY REALLY bad. But on the other hand, when he put out good stuff, it was REALLY REALLY good. |
I don't know. I still prefer the VU to anything he's ever done.
|
Loaded>
It's perfect. |
Hey guys. Sorry I don't post here much anymore. But recently in my life, alt rock>classic rock.
I still like cr, but have very little new to contribute to the conversation. |
