I can't bust out crazy solo's like Andrew does, but I have got pretty much the whole song except for the piano solo's towards the middle and end. When I get really good at it, I am going to try recording it. |
I hope we can re-open that album thread because I thought it was a good idea.

If I had a piano, I'd practice it a lot (Even though it's a pretty simple melody). 7000th post.

Short for tard. :p
Wow, how long did it take you to come up with that witty remark? |
Konstantine sounds so pretty played about 3 octaves higher.
I think I am going to take keyboard/piano playing seriously now, I just worked out the intro to Time To Waste as well. I may try some Straylight later as well. |
I can play the intro to Time To Waste as well, fun stuff. I'm gonna watch Family Guy, then The O.C., then maybe some Scrubs. I want to find the soundtrack to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, but I found it for the FFVII game. So I'm getting that instead.

Where do you get your sheets from? Do you use midis?

I work out what chords they are, and then improvise from there. I'll normally get my guitar to find the chords, and then transfer it to keyboard and try to work out the rest. |
Am home, i only had one lesson, i finished at 1030, but only got in a hour ago, i just stuck around college hanging about with me mates.
|
I do that sometimes, it depends what we're doing. On Monday me and my friend were so bored, so we drove to his old school, which by the way is very VERY posh and "nazi", and we got kicked out. It was awesome, we saw 2 of his friends who dropped off some word, then my mate did a full turn on the tennis courts (Just as some kids came out to use them).
|
That sounds pretty fun Kif.
I'm watching Red Dwarf again, but I'm almost at the end of the 4th series, and that's as far as my brothers boxset goes. :( |
Am bored. Chris, shouldnt you be in school
|
I'm off. I have glandular fever. I was going to go in today, but I was way too exhausted this morning and I had lots of throat pains. Which is okay, because I'm feeling okay now, so I've just had a day to relax. I've missed 5 days of school so far this year, damn glandular fever. :(
|
Glandular fever, thats what they ALL say ;)

Then again, I want to get The O.C., Lost and a couple of seasons of South Park. Stupid TV shows, there's too many I actually just made a Myspace for my solo thing, but since I can't record, there's no songs on there at the moment  |
Gig review++
Reggie and the Full Effect: Being unfamiliar with this band detracted from the performance I think. I get the feeling their music is more enjoyable after a few listens. Despite that, it was very fun, and the only act I was in the center of the pit for the whole time. Now, at the beginning, there were a million 12 year old girls all in the front, but after I'd guess 3 songs or so, the majority had fled to safer areas and so only the most hardcore twelve year olds were down there by then. Still, they didn't know how to mosh well and unfortunately since they're so short most of their elbows were right in my kidney. It was more leaning and pushing than anything else though. It was fun though. They played a very short set though, probably around 30 minutes. Despite the length I was thoroughly worn out by the end though. I enjoyed it. Alkaline Trio: The band I came to see didn't disappoint, but the venue did a little. The sound in the pit was not very good and I can honestly say I'm listening to this CD louder than the music down there was. That was very disappointing, but I still sang along and had as much fun as was possible with them. There was a good mix of old and new in the set, judging from the fact that I didn't know about 1/3 of the songs they played. The second guitarist they brought in added a lot to the music too. Unfortunately, the crowd was also a little dead by the middle of the set, mainly because in the 30 minute or so transition between sets, they decided to crowd surf and mosh to...I don't even know. They were moshing to the nearly inaudible music before Alkaline Trio came on, so by the middle of the set it was pretty tame. Except for up front. I was pretty beat by then though because all the little kids there have no pit ettiquette, so I was the only one picking kids up when they fell, and I was **** tired because of it, so I hung more towards the back of the pit. Nonetheless, great show. I want to see them at a better venue and as headliners, because I'm sure the show could be so much better than it already was. My Chemical Romance: So I hung back above the pit for this one, and really I can't say I regret it. The "pit" was a bunch of little girls waving their hands in the air and idolizing the band. The crowd itself was static minus the handwaving, and it reminded me more of a pop concert than a rock concert really. Especially with the dance beats the drummer was hitting in the background. The band itself wasn't actually that bad, though I'll never like their vocals. Gerard was pretty good at talking to the crowd too, though it was a little odd...("Look at the sky and say 'Hi Grandma'"?) But the band was pretty decent, though I did leave early. If you liked the music though, I can envision it being a good show, I just didn't like the music. Andy - I have none of those.
Nice show review there. I saw Alk3 and MCR at Leeds this summer and they both probably fit in well with thoise descriptions. Except Alk3 were (rightly) higer up the bill, and the kids at the front at Leeds generally look out for each other, to the degree that if someone falls down, they can expect to be hauled up by up to 4 people before they even hit the ground... Yeah. |

Do you remember me Nicky? I was sumblinkracer at the time though. Jelle was mean to me when I was a n00b... :(
I do remember you, I also remember chumpradio and zeppelin, but vaguely. I think I remember billiejoe too. Speaking of remembering people.... Ste isn't still around is he? |

When I get really good at it, I am going to try recording it.
Please do! I wanted to learn it on guitar, but couldn't really be bothered. Plus I suck at arpeggios on guitar anyway so it'd be too much effort for my lazy self. At the moment all my efforts are focused on getting my Slash/Angus Young-style blues-rock solos sounding tight. |
Someone better hook me up with some Panic At The Disco. Im curious. Jon... You're my musical hero. Got anything good for me?
|

/me is playing Konstantine through different things on my keyboard.
On the synthesizer setting it sounds like a retro game theme song. |
I think I might miss the violating of people's behinds in Pop punk. That was like a daily occurance. It just isn't the same without it. Pop-Punk IS buttsecks.
I think I managed to avoid a lot of it though. |

That's what it's like at most gigs in the UK. There aren't really many violent incidents at gigs. I've been helped up a few times, and I've helped people up myself. Karma, man... |
