I forgot to tell my uni that I dropped a subject... but my offer was made on three, not four grades, so hopefully it won't make a difference.

And anyway, I'm taking a gap year, so I could always re-apply without changing any plans.

Right, time for another instalment in my very very VERY mini-series, "THIS DAY IN ROCK". About events or birthdays, etc. So mini, you probably didn't even notice the first instalment :p

ANYWAY:

This day in rock, 1963, James Hetfield was born. And some angels lost their wings for letting that happen. (Sorry, but god damnit metallica are boring IMO)
If you couldn't even be arsed to write a song for music...

What on earth DID you get AS levels in?
Nah I did the composition, it was performance =P

I actually took ALL THREE units in Maths (Mechanics) and Psychology.

Dead Star 08-03-2006 12:21 PM
Thats cool, you have long to prepare yourself.

I HAVE 5 DAYS :(

Mexican Bandito 08-03-2006 12:58 PM

Howdy guys.
I got into work today to be told that I've got this Saturday off :D which works out just fine and dandy because I'm going out on Friday night so now I don't have to worry about being tired in the morning. yay

Oh yeah and when I got home there was a funny smell in the kitchen. I opened up the dishwasher and there was a plate of.... MOULD >: ( ew ew ewwwww
It was disgusting, I felt myself beginning to wretch. So I just quickly shoved a washer tablet in and turned it on. I hope it's all been washed off okay :-/

How are you all this fun eve'?

Dead Star 08-03-2006 01:08 PM

Hey, Zowe.

Sounds like you had a good day.

Untitled 08-03-2006 01:09 PM

Nah not so much apart from finding out I had Saturday off.
One woman I work with seems to think that because I'm young I can do 3 peoples jobs at once and then she just sits and does 'work' like counting change whilst I'm on the tills with a huge que!

I love The Dragons Den!
There was an episode last series with a guy, he was so nervous and sweating like a fat whore - it was a shame but I laughed. heeh That's why I love it!
I had no idea it was back on, thanks for mentioning it :D

I dont get the wemon i work with.

If my manager is in on a sunday, she has to have another female in with her, dunno why, but theres 5 of us, we dont need 5 people. Usualy its "the lads" the only4 guys who work on the dept, work on a sunday, and its great because we get everything done, and piss about.

Also, its so funny gdragons den, you just watch so many peoples dreams going down the pan because they cant be arsed researching and stuff like that. I garantie, i know more about business then half of them people putng forward ideas.

Dead Star 08-03-2006 01:20 PM

Where is it you work?

GurS 08-03-2006 01:39 PM

Maybe so, buttler, but at least most of them can spell.

ZING!

That reminded me. One of my friends from school read her conditional for uni wrong!! lol
She only found out yesterday - after her younger sister read it and questioned her about it!!!

GurS 08-03-2006 01:46 PM

Elaborate? She thought she needed more than she really did, or she needed less than she really did?

Mexican Bandito 08-03-2006 01:49 PM

She thought she only needed two B Higher passes but it's Advanced Higher she needs passes in. She should be okay because she's sitting two AH classes. :)

she's a numpty

Dead Star 08-03-2006 01:51 PM

Advanced HIghers

properly hard them.

well, they would be to me.

Mexican Bandito 08-03-2006 01:54 PM

Yeah I know, she should be okay (I think)

I was meant to be doing Advanced Graphics but I failed higher!! hehehe
I would have done Advanced music but the school I went to didn't have the facilitys (recording stuff etc) to do it. :(
But of course, the year after I leave they get all new equipment and fancy stuff so they actually can do it now.
grr

Untitled 08-03-2006 02:06 PM

hahah, someones screwed up there pitch already.

We all know that noone but the last person in each episode gets the money.

Dead Star 08-03-2006 02:07 PM

I'm gutted I didn't take Music for Standard Grade.

And I'm doing 5 Highers this year.

This probably means no free time ever.

jpshortstuff 08-03-2006 02:09 PM

5 Highers isn't too bad. I had plenty of free time in 5th year but then I'm quite lazy and didn't really work anyway. 3 Advanced Highers and 2 Highers are bad, that's what I did for 6th year. You should be ok so long as you keep up with the work.

Phill 08-03-2006 02:24 PM

Wewt I have a day off tomorrow.

So I am out tonight drinking.

And consdering getting another tattoo tomorrow if I can afford it.

How is everyone else?

ooo, options. i could go to the UWE and live at home for another 3-5 years. or to Birmingham and live with my brother while he still goes there, although i doubt he'd let me. it all sounds so hard though.

badass tattoos ftw

I didn't take music at Standard Grade either but I was still allowed to take it Higher :) you should go and ask if you're really interested.

heheh Dragons Den was great tonight.
The table arranger guy that couldn't count!

I honestly felt so sorry for the egg man when his eggs didn't cook :(
I didn't realise that there were lots more 'dragons' until about half way through!

I can't wait until next week :D

I would, but I seriously know no theory and I can barely read music, I'd fail so hard.

And I'm content with the ones I have atm.

Mexican Bandito 08-03-2006 03:07 PM

I still don't know how to read music! I don't think it's that big a deal that you do.
All the practical work is written in tab too for the people that can't read.
The class should be split so you get equal time of theory/practical and invention.
My class was given a sort of music dictionary, you had to learn the terms and make sure you could relate them to the pieces of music that are played. And its' 6 periods a week so you get plenty time to learn everything. :)
