its fucking good huh
it's a bit too repetitive for my liking, due to it's length. but it has some excellent cuts, though

could probably have been condensed into a shorter release with some B-sides left out

Aakon_Keetreh 07-16-2011 11:48 PM

alberich just came out with a new full release LP if youre looking for something shorter

Haz 07-16-2011 11:53 PM

regardless i've been listening to a lot of drone shit lately. mostly celer's poulaine, andreas brandal's into thin air and christina kubisch's sechs spiegel. still, that vintermusik rec i dropped arbitrarily a while back stands.

haz, how'd you like nakamura's egrets? that was the one you said you liked in that tinycaht ages ago, yes?

---

and a b4k drone album in the projects thread

Haz 07-17-2011 10:42 PM

lol, well

Merzbow kinda sucks. Music For Bondage Performance I really enjoyed, however

Bitchfork 07-17-2011 10:43 PM
the Masonna 'John Peel Sessions' CD is the most hipster project ever
Hur. Grab yourself a copy of Just in case you are bored. So are We. [not boring, btw] by Dieb13, Pure and Siewert. Very, very ambient/drone and noise based. Had I not known about it I would have assumed it was another ambient release, to be honest - a very good ambient release at that. For onkyo I don't know, I get pissed at the genre's electronic spectrum a lot of the time and that's probably what you would want more than the acoustic stuff. Er... Choi Joonyong, Hong Chulki, Sachiko M & Otomo Yoshihide - Sweet Cuts, Distant Curves; intriguing improvised feedback and electronics thingy.

Also check that unfathoms drone shit you bitch.

which album?

Drugstep 07-18-2011 04:45 AM

I'm in love with a lot of the stuff that toys around the edge of industrial without quite fitting the classification. I'm just starting to toy with most of what's considered genuine industrial though, because too much of it is whack EBM bullshi that tries too hard to sound tough.

Swans and Throbbing Gristle are brilliant. The prototypical German stuff like Cluster and Faust is among the greatest things in life though.

I predict very few people posting in this thread though, its a genre that's very easy to write off.

Haz 07-18-2011 05:04 AM

is that your first post here

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Tender Prey is the best folksy post-punk album ever

Drugstep 07-18-2011 05:07 AM

yeah

during this time period i was under the assumption NIN was the only industrial that wasn't European dance-based shit

Haz 07-18-2011 05:09 AM

I remember emailing you Foetus links lol

Drugstep 07-18-2011 05:14 AM

i remember when i was 14 i discovered NIN and decided to jump straight to downloading a couple throbbing gristle songs

i just happened to download a couple songs that were inacessible to the point of being filler even by TG standards, crap like We Hate You Little Girls

I thought it was like an epic practical joke

Haz 07-18-2011 05:18 AM

well, more or less it was. wasn't it

Drugstep 07-18-2011 05:23 AM

well TG is all kinds of tongue-in-cheek and satirical but at the end of the day it's actually musically enjoyable to people

i read like five star reviews of this shit saying it was groundbreaking and i listen to a song and it's like some one talking way off in the distance with machine noises, i didnt know what to think

Haz 07-18-2011 05:33 AM

first introduction to industrial was checking out some mislabelled Skinny Puppy songs on limewire I think was some other band

track was called Suicide Song or something

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOtMnqpWeH8

well what do you know here it is

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31S7weQH8JA

and this
