As if Mark Hoppus would be any good at slap. And Neil Peart is an awesome drummer.

HitHardDrums55 12-18-2005 12:48 PM

i know hoppus plays with a pick, but somebody on here said they saw a video of him playing slap bass and he was a lot better than people think since he has such simple bass lines with blink

and i never said neil peart wasn't an awesome drummer...actually i said he IS an awesome drummer...just said i dont like his setup, its too complex for my liking...but at least he knows how to rock a set that big

Bad Blood 12-18-2005 12:49 PM

I couldn't be bothered to listen to the whole podcast. : /

Pazz 12-18-2005 12:51 PM

Lazy Ben. I haven't got to listening to the podcast yet.

Bad Blood 12-18-2005 12:55 PM

It just sounds too boring if we don't even get atleast a preview of the music.

:(

FauxApathy 12-18-2005 05:00 PM

If you've been playing bass for 15 years, you at least know HOW to slap.... Even if you're not good at it. He uses a pick normally, so he's probably just average.

I think Josh Freese is Better than Travis, and that's still in the Pop-punk genre.

Bad Blood 12-18-2005 05:03 PM

He's never really had to be good for the music Blink has made. So i guess he's just made do with it.

Yeh its true ive been playing for 3 and ino how to slap you just muck around and figure it out

yourstruly 12-18-2005 10:11 PM

The whole "TrAvIs SuXoRs wOrSeR dEn DiS gUy" thing gets really old, really fast, and has no reasonable outcome.

10571z 12-19-2005 12:56 AM

Fire Away 12-19-2005 01:51 AM

My parents got it for me for christmas... I may not open it. Leave it preserved for years and years, never listened to.

yourstruly 12-19-2005 02:53 AM

I'm making money now, so I might get it eventually, but there are other CDs I wanna get before that one.

10571z 12-19-2005 03:39 AM

im getting there only chasing safety soon (underoath)

plaidbassbilly 12-19-2005 04:01 AM

I got the Greatest Hits for Another Girl, Another Planet and so I'd have all their available albums.

Today I got Millencolin's Home From Home for $4. Good bargain I say!

That'd be a dollar for every good song :D

But I want the GH for the bonus DVD stuff aswell

plaidbassbilly 12-19-2005 04:11 AM

Oh...you don't think it's good? Oh well. I wanted it for Man Or Mouse.

That bonus DVD stuff goes for about 5 minutes. It's nothing to get excited over to tell you the truth!

Fire Away 12-19-2005 04:21 AM

From what I recall hearing it's Carousel and Whats My Age Again live recordings and Rock Show and Feeling This making of videos, and thats it. Am I right?

plaidbassbilly 12-19-2005 04:31 AM

It's the making of Feeling This, I Miss You and Down, and some live recordings that we've already seen on Urethra Chronicles 2 anyway...they could've done such a better job!

To many to name, there's so much music on my ipod which needs replacing with purchased music.

guns_of_brixton 12-19-2005 01:38 PM

Tom is a better guitarist than he gets credit for.

Bad Blood 12-19-2005 01:40 PM

He's not brilliant, though.

Yeah, and the whole "Tavis is an amazing drummer" is pathetic and shows why a lot of people hate Blink fans.
he amazes me are you lawling..???
Yeah actually.

Get Fighted 12-19-2005 02:30 PM

I still am not bored of the Plus 44 song. And the AAA Movie trailer is great music as well. I cant wait until January for the single.
He's not brilliant, though.
Yeah i agree, although hes never been a Micheal Angelo, i still respect him for his skill.

Bad Blood 12-19-2005 02:37 PM

He makes what he does sound good. That's all that really matters in pop punk.

dancetomdance182 12-19-2005 02:40 PM

Tom isn't one of those guitarists that can improvise or shred. I mean, he's not even that good. But I love his way of playing and song writing. I remember when blink was making blink 182 their latest album, they had those videos of Tom and Mark writing songs. THat just made me want to get out my acoustic and write songs. Anyway, Tom looks fcking cool with his strat.

Pazz 12-19-2005 02:42 PM

I still haven't bought the Blink 182 Greatest Hits CD. My sister has it, so maybe I will steal it from her and give it a listen to.

Untitled 12-19-2005 02:52 PM

Ive not baught it, i proberly won't to be honest.

Pazz 12-19-2005 02:53 PM

There's only 1 song on there I haven't heard, so it's not a big deal if I buy it or not.

Ross 12-19-2005 03:51 PM

If you have all the other albums... There is no point.

I agree about Tom's guitarring, and the view on pop-punk in general. As long as it sounds good, that's what really matters. R&Mers who jib on about 20 minute epic shred solos making a song are frankly wrong. (Oz, who am I talking about? ;))

10571z 12-19-2005 07:16 PM

i just bought it to compete my collection :)... if i have kids i wonder if theyll like blink?

Surtr 12-19-2005 07:28 PM
Yeah, and the whole "Tavis is an amazing drummer" is pathetic and shows why a lot of people hate Blink fans.
Ok first of all, SHUT THE FUCK UP BRANDON! I'm a drummer myself, and I'm not a total piece of crap one either, I know what good drumming is. Travis can play, and I'd say he's one of the better drummers around today.

Second of all, I have the Greatist Hits, it's not anything great, I had all the songs except for AGAP.

Pazz 12-19-2005 07:51 PM

So! I just borrowed my sisters copy of the Greatest Hits. What to say? Nothing really, it's a bunch of songs that are alright. I would have chosen different songs, but Geffen did it for the money. Another Girl Another Planet, first time hearing it and it wasn't bad. I'm going to download it now, and forget about buying this. If I stummble across it on sale somewhere and have the money, maybe I will buy it. Nothing special.

10571z 12-19-2005 11:02 PM

hahaha i just saw the travis barker add so funny...

HitHardDrums55 12-20-2005 02:46 PM

Independent_CA 12-20-2005 03:06 PM

Been I while since I posted here, I just stopped in to say that the new Plus-44 song on their site is rad.

Peggasus 12-20-2005 03:59 PM
