Hey has anyone heard Alarum? *looks at Bartender*

I just heard a couple songs and I was blown away..
Yes. Velocity is a great song. The vocals are always a little too high in the mix for my taste though. I really like the more proggy stuff clean not metal sections. The bassist is quite..... awesome.

i am the robots 05-01-2005 07:12 PM
Isis suck. What I've heard of Mare (one song) is pretty good though, and I tend to like the slow-and-heavy-yet-not-doom approach.

(edit button)

And in true lead-by-example fashion; EDIT:

Eleventeen - At least that's a pretty good age, I suppose. Your dog dying is always bad though, even if they have lived plenty.
yeah, I guess you're right.... wow, some people on Sputnik need to know their **** before trying to correct you...

Dancin' Man 05-01-2005 07:13 PM

I think I'll do another review in the same style of my Mare one. Short and sweet. I'll have to find another short album for that to work properly.

/hopes he isn't double posting
/doesn't really care because rarely spams
yeah, I guess you're right.... wow, some people on Sputnik need to know their **** before trying to correct you...
Yeahm I saw that but I don't know much about LP except that I like Hybrid Theory and not Meteora so I didn't comment.

Bartender 05-01-2005 07:14 PM
yeah, I guess you're right....
Sorry if that came off as insensitive :-/ I've had several dogs (of my own; a couple more belonging to close friends and relatives) die, two of them into good old age, but rather than helping, it kind of means I don't really know how to deal with it when other people's are dying.. Sorry.

What do you mean?

Read his review for Linkin Park's Xero demo. Especially the comment.

My last dog died at age 13. We got her a few months after I was born. She was a huge dog though and lived way longer than she should've.

Illmatic 05-01-2005 08:37 PM

Both of my dogs are still alive, so I can't comment.

ATM 05-01-2005 08:38 PM

So American Dad wasn't very funny.

The new Simpsons episodes sucked.

The new Family Guy was good.

Dancin' Man 05-01-2005 08:39 PM

Moral of the story: Television is bad.

Illmatic 05-01-2005 08:40 PM

Not the band Television, of course.

And just as I expected, American Dad sucked hard. Family Guy was good, though.

Bartender 05-01-2005 08:42 PM

Was the Family Guy episode the one that leaked recently (North by North Quahog, with Mel Gibson and things), or a newer one?

Also, out of interest, how many of you read back through what you've missed when you come back to this thread?

Permanent Solution 05-01-2005 08:44 PM

I used to...but I'm too bust lately to see much anways so I haven't been.

Dancin' Man 05-01-2005 08:45 PM

once in a while. I usually go back 2 pages max.

Illmatic 05-01-2005 08:52 PM

Dio-era Black Sabbath doing a live cover of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water"

And to answer Bartender's questions: Yes, it was that episode and sometimes I go back a page or two.

Yes, it was the leaked one.

I read everything that I miss.

My dogs never die. They always end up running away/getting stolen/getting eaten by coyotes/getting shot or something. :'(

I had this cool black lab called Charlie. Man. He humped everything. He had a real thing for my shoes though...

pigonthewing82 05-01-2005 09:56 PM
Not the band Television, of course.

Eh American Dad had its moments I thought. It was better then the new Simpsons, and any other Simpsons this year.

Illmatic 05-01-2005 10:11 PM

He would get embarrassed over hickies?

What a pussy.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-01-2005 10:18 PM

My rents would get mad if I had hickeys.

Fortunately, it's not a problem for me.

:upset:

Permanent Solution 05-01-2005 10:19 PM

My parents asked me that once. I was like "Where would I have gotten them?" and they were like "Touche." (They probably were heh)

Illmatic 05-01-2005 10:22 PM

My mom and stepdad were pretty lenient about that sort of thing. As long as I didn't get arrested or get a girl pregnant, I was fine.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-01-2005 10:25 PM

You can get hickies?

To post below me- It was my attempt at being subtlely racist. I was too subtle.

Illmatic 05-01-2005 10:27 PM

Come again?

Huber 05-01-2005 10:56 PM

The new Family Guy was hilarious. Anyone else catch it?

Edit: Ugh, you all see it first because I'm in California

Haha, yeah I saw it. I loved it.

American Dad sucks. Take it off the air.

ATM 05-01-2005 11:08 PM

My mom gets mad about hickies. My dad doesn't seem to care.

And I agree, Madey, that was the gayest thing ever said.

Dr. Jake Destructo 05-01-2005 11:11 PM

Josh 05-02-2005 07:37 AM

w00t! this thread was on the second page!!
anyway, how is everyone? i'm good, going to spend the rest of the afternoon at the pub :) its kinda nice that its a bank holiday, means i actually get a day off school when i'm not working.

SonorKen 05-02-2005 07:44 AM
So. I have a bizarre story. So my friend Brandt dropped by my house about a 1/2 hour ago to pick up some CDs he left at my house.. I answered the door and noticed hickies on his neck. I was like, "what are those? are those hickies?" and he said, "oh god. Please don't tell me I have hickies on my neck." so then he asked me if I had any makeup or anything that'll cover it up so he could go home without his parents giving him the 3rd degree. My parents thought it was hilarious. So I spent 15 mins trying to cover up 3 hickies on a dudes neck.

Quite interesting.
Hickies are so goofy.

Dancin' Man 05-02-2005 08:36 AM
Nah.. his parents would've assumed the worst if they saw hickies on his neck. Otherwise I wouldn't of helped him out.

edit: Jake is a fag.

DrJakeDestructo: you know what would be cool.
hi im madey: hm
DrJakeDestructo: if there were real life mods. and if someone spammed too much (or talked to much) then they could get banned. with a gun.
DrJakeDestructo: :o

Hilarity. That was excellent.

Firecracker 05-02-2005 08:40 AM

Haha. Good one.

I'm doing maths homework. And i can't do it.

Find k:

Hey, firecracker, what's goin' on, baby?

So anyway, the weekend's over, thank GOD Coachellafest is over; I'm tired of seeing a bunch of drugged-up new age hippies with rainbow hair walking around here...

I seem to not be able to do this maths problem though, you know how to do it?

superpeer 05-02-2005 08:57 AM

The weekly audioscrobbler artist chart is in: The results are quite upsetting/untr00, but diverse.

Good morning, sexy thang. I'm awake, I guess. I have tormented every math teacher I have ever had, so I'd say no, I'm not to good at math. Freshman year I waved salami in front of my Algebra teacher's face and asked her if she wanted to suck my meat, and this year I convinced my Geometry teacher that he was gay. So I'd say no, I can't help ya. Sorry.

Firecracker 05-02-2005 09:03 AM

That's quite a varied list Superpear

Yeah, their new CD's called (N)Utopia, and it's just not Graveworm, man. It's sad. The keyboards aren't very prominent and one of the songs, "Hateful Design" just sounds more like slow metalcore.

Haha, oh that's funny, we found a bit of fish down the back of the radiator in our maths classroom last year, we almost had all the lesson off because half the class were trying to get rid of it, and another part of the fish was put in the teacher's desk drawer.
That's ok, i got my dad to help me with it instead.
I wish i was still in bed, i'm still wearing my pijamas, i watched The Ring last night and it was quite scary, but it's a brilliant film, i got to bed at 12:00 but i wasn't really that tired, so i read a whole book before i went to sleep. 3:00 i got to sleep.
