sup lod, any business majors in here?
if so, look at this, we're doing some ongoing group project thing thats a business simulation, pretty much we run a simulated business, and if we do it wrong we run it into the ground, but if we do it right we make imaginary millions of dollars. i'm really surprised how bad some of these groups are doing, whats even more surprising is the groups that are doing the worst are the ones comprised of what i would consider to be the smart people in class. bet you cant guess which group i'm in |

mnemonic - I think your group is Digby.

I think I'm in love.
Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 25W 1x12 Amplifier + Fender American Standard Series Stratocaster Beautiful cleans, enough gain for me (my Peavey XXX can put out more than I like), and it even has a blues channel which gives that wonderful slightly over driven sound. <3 <3 <3 Now I just need a good job. C'mon economy, revive! ------------------------------ In other news I got some Schaller Strap Locks for my Talman as the strap always slips off the little nipples of pegs that thing has. My RGs have huge ones, kind of a pain to get the straps on and off, so I don't have to worry about them. So did I screw myself out getting Schaller or what guys? I read a bunch of reviews and they seem to be the only ones that didn't have a "I used these for x months and then they wouldn't hold" story. |

ferris, actually |
My wife spent £85 on running gear for me today, we went for a 5k afters.
Current running experience: None Current fitness level: Fatass, gets tired walking up hill Current speed: 9.20min miles. |
9.20 minute per mile doesn't sound like "Fatass, gets tired walking up hill" territory. I've never really been a runner. My best workouts have always been sprinting short distances, then walking about half the distance I sprinted; rinse and repeat.
|
Running alongside the wife does alot, no way am I gonna get beaten by a girl, let alone the one that I married!
Anywhoos. I wanna do a 20min 5k in a couple of weeks. |
9.2 min miles is pretty slow
|
you know i just realized years ago i used to have a really big avatar. wtf happened to it? lol
anywhoo i wish i could go running around here but this is the inner city. too much traffic and people. i want to go somewhere quit with some hills. |
i run around the city

I don't hear from AG in like 5 years and then I find out he's MARRIED?
|
Yep, 6 months in this month.
This is our baby. >_> Not realllly, just our new cousin. HAHA. Anyways, just ran 5 miles in 42 and a half mins. That's 8.5min miles whoop. |
oh man I totally fell for that baby bullshit.
**** you. |
Was gonna have to be like, So that is why AG is married!
Now I just laugh because his wife has that typical "awww, it's a baby." look where AG has a look on his face like "Don't get any ideas." AG does not look like he wants kids just yet. |
Gimme a couple of years on that one... |
On a guitar related note, any one got DiMarzio PAF Pro pickups in their guitars? I'm debating on throwing at least one in the bridge of my RG1570 replacing my Super Distortion. Which will probably make it's way into my first guitar as I've started thinking "I haven't played this perfect good guitar in 5 years" instead of "it is my first guitar and I don't want to change it."
i run around the city
sno big d
yeah but i can't stand this place. can't stand being here and can't stand the people. |

PAF Pros are better than Super Distortions tbh. |
I find the Super Distortion a little sterile. My Norton, while less output, is my preferred pickup for heavy distortion. It actually handles light distortion good as well, which is an added bonus.
The PAF Pro is an Alnico 5 based pickup, like my other two bridge pickups the Tone Zone and the Norton. i can't find any good video reviews of it though in the bridge. I mean, I know Satch, Vai, and Gilbert can make them sound like heaven. Just want to see a non-professional with one if you know where I'm coming from. |
I always thought I'd go for a PAF pro in the bridge, if I were to buy/mod/build a guitar again. That and some awesome sexy single in the neck, and a real high mounted soapbar in the mid. Like so:

Grrr... I'm restringing my RG1570 today and going to play it a lot over the next couple of weeks. I'll make a decision first or second week of April.
Seriously looking into trying to sell my Peavey XXX 212 for $900 (if I can get it in this economy). I have $100 laying around from Christmas and I'm sure I can squeak the $200-250 needed to buy the Mesa/Boogie Express 5:25 1x10 if not the $300-350 to get the 1x12 version from my birthday from money from the mother and two grandmother's. ... that and if I don't have a job by the end of April it is going to be go out and just get a damn job some where time. :upset: |
I've literally just put a PAF pro in the bridge of my LP, lets see if I actually managed to do it properly.
Also: I went with a ladle. I was drinking Jager and Red Bull out of a saucepan with a ladle. My mate did actually use a fishbowl and filled it with martini. Another used a kids golf caddy thing, there were several watering cans, spray bottles and one guy used a teapot filled with whiskey. |

|
I really liked that, it fits well with the rest of what I'm playing at the moment. I made (what i think) is a pretty good playlist for just sitting and chillaxing.
