So I was in the pop punk community thread, and some kid says "I love Black Metal." Naturally this made me curious so I asked like who and he said CoB and CoF. :(

Jom 04-23-2005 07:38 PM

ATTN: Eleventeen

Nick Swardson, perhaps?

"Nicolas, I'm thirsty."
"Well, grandma, why don't I pour you a glass of milk FROM THIS GALLON !" [thematically lifts gallon over head]

"Nicolas ! You are the strongest boy in the world !"
"Well, grandma, you must be tired, so have a seat ON THIS STOOL !"

My favorite though, is his conclusion, where he talks about video games and music.

"My grandkids are going to run to me talking about the latest video game, and I'll be like, 'What? Back in my day, we played a game with a yellow circle, and it ate dots and was chased by ghosts !'

I can't wait until I'm old. I always say stuff like "This sucks !" and my mom will be all like, 'No, we don't use that language around Grandma. No.'

So this is what I'm going to do. For example:

'Grandpa, grandpa, you wanna go to the zoo with us?!'
'The zoo? Fuck the zoo, the zoo's gay.'
'Mom ! Grandpa called the zoo gay !'
'Shut up, faggot, don't tell on me.'

And I'll put on my Dr. Dre Chronic CD.

'This is what I listened to when I was your age. Your grandmother was a ho.'"

I saw that the other day. It was hilarious when he did the lifting the carton bit.

I would be upset at how finicky metalheads are with subgenres, but I'd be the same way if someone said, "I love G-Funk like Biggie and Jay-Z"

Yea, that's it. I thought it was Schwartz. My friends are always quoting that bit, so got old.

That guy is hilarious. I caught his act on Friday night on Comedy Central, and thought he was really good.

I am working on an electronic song

ATM 04-23-2005 07:48 PM
Like recording one? What kind of equipment do you have?
I'm using Fruity Loops, and cutting up samples from different mp3s and mixing them. It's pretty crap so far, but I bet I could make something good if I put time into it.

Ray, you still want to do a Hip Hop/Rap F.G.?

Illmatic 04-23-2005 07:48 PM

I could be down with that.

ooooooo-wee, Celts are winning 60-31

ATM 04-23-2005 07:52 PM
That's pretty sweet. Fruity Loops is so fun, I was playing with it at my friends house, and there's so much to use on that program, it's cool. That's really cool though, I would never think to do that, heh.
I'd upload it, but everyone would just crack up at it.

 I'm just fooling around, keep that in mind.

NEWS FLASH! REALLY GOOD BAND WAS ON HEADBANGER'S BALL FOR A CHANGE!

They played Rage Against the Machine's "Freedom," which was indeed a good song. They also had some good VIDEOS, but not necessarily songs. There was this band called Diecast who had possibly the only truly silly video to go with that kind of music (newer heavy/thrash metal). There was also an American Head Charge video with a UFC fighter getting pissed off, so that's cool too.

ARE YOU SERIOUS! HURRAH! MTV DIDN'T SUCK FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES.

Jom 04-23-2005 09:44 PM

Headbangers Ball has been pretty decent tonight. It was cool that they had the AHC tribute.

The Soulfly cover of Roots Bloody Roots is pretty decent. The singer looks like Jack Black sometimes, depending on the light (and with a lot of facial hair).

Permanent Solution 04-23-2005 09:46 PM

If only I had a TV...

Wait no I hate TV nevermind. :)

YDload 04-23-2005 10:32 PM

And yes, in case Eleventeen was wondering, there was a Korn video too. For "Blind."

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-23-2005 10:32 PM

Doubt it. RATM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>audioslave

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-23-2005 10:39 PM

Yes, that was me. :D

I heart Porcupine Tree. What was your verdict on the show? Can you go, or not?

I got some last night

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-23-2005 10:43 PM
I don't know. I guess i'm gonna go to the venue and see if I can sneak my way in. I convinced my mom to go with me.

No details for you. :smash:

Jom 04-23-2005 10:55 PM

Question to all who know:

What genre are The Faint? On Sputnik, they're labeled as "industrial metal," and that has to be a joke. Is there a more accurate classification?

jpj 04-23-2005 10:58 PM
The Faint are defintely not industrial metal, because they are emo. They went on tour with Bright Eyes.

http://www.thefaint.com
I can't stand Bright Eyes. That faggot was on Austin City Limits when it was supposed to be Los Lobos  Needless to say, I was pissed.

Bartender 04-23-2005 10:59 PM

The Faint are not emo, and neither are Bright Eyes.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-23-2005 11:00 PM
But guys always tell the details. I don't see you as being the respectable kinda guy.
I actually am sometimes. :D

Otherside 04-23-2005 11:04 PM
The songs I heard are extremely emo.
You're extremely emo >:|

RavenousMetalist87 04-23-2005 11:10 PM

Star Wars is on one of the local L.A. Stations.

I saw the trailer to Revenge of the Sith. Looks like I'll be saving some money to check that one out. I hope it's better than Attack of the Clones.

I can't wait for next weekend though (Family Guy!!!!11111) lol...

Otherside 04-23-2005 11:13 PM
It would be nice if someone would tell me what genre they are

/will delete when question is answered
Folk-Jazz fusion, with roots in bluegrass and pornogrind.

Bartender 04-23-2005 11:16 PM

Ease up with the content-less posts, everyone :-/
The songs I heard are extremely emo.
Well..do you know what emo is? If you're thinking of lots of acoustic playing, 'whiny' vocals and sad, depression-fuelled lyrics, chances are you're wrong. If you mean real emo, then maybe I've just heard the wrong songs by them.

I saw it. I can't name my sources though. Just keep in mind that the opening is about all of the failing fox shows.

i am the robots 04-23-2005 11:21 PM

Bright Eyes are what has become considered Emo, unfortunately, there is no debate of it, because people will not listen.

Otherside 04-23-2005 11:22 PM
At least I say I'll delete my posts, which I do, even though they still show up for you, Bartender

Am I supposed to take Otherside's post seriously, or is he taking a shot at me for saying pornogrind is an actual genre a couple months ago?

/will delete this post too
I couldn't resist :upset:

But no, I've never heard of them before, sorry :\
