haha that might be it, i didn't hear any backround music so i left, i'll go check it again

well ****, i listened to it, and i probably would have voted for it. damn

We_Love_Lime 09-03-2006 10:07 AM

Haha , no worries.
It wasn't great.

It sounded like ****e, but oh well.
Maybe BB would be kind enough to 1) Do a new competition shortly after the finish of this one
2) Do like a second round thing, with the top three from each, and than they a) create a new beat, b) keep their existing.

HeLLmO 09-03-2006 10:26 AM

i wouldn't mind another comp, because i'm goin' into a studio at the end of the month, so i would have the means to enter it

We_Love_Lime 09-03-2006 10:27 AM

That's cool, neither would I, I have some rad ideas lately, learning some sweet things. I also figured maybe I would be smart enough to put the background music this time.

I just hope people don't single mine out because theres no background music, I think they get the hint how the song goes, but if they don't , it was my bad anyways.

HeLLmO 09-03-2006 10:41 AM

yea, like, i've listened to it enough times to know how it goes, i've even played to it once or twice, just the bare track

We_Love_Lime 09-03-2006 11:02 AM

Yeah.

Brandwhore 09-03-2006 08:12 PM

Im looking for a real loud crash that will carry and cut. Prefer to stay zildjian (yea yea i know) cos ive had so much success with it so far. I have a 18in A custom fast crash thats almost there but looking for something larger and more sustain. Any ideas?

stevensonmat2 09-03-2006 08:18 PM

Try the regular A custom crash. Or maybe the 16", that thing sings and cuts thru nicely. Any of the regular customs have good sustain and a full sound. Also, go here and you can listen to sound clips of all zildjia ncymbals. http://zildjian.com/EN-US/products/default.ad2

HeLLmO 09-03-2006 08:28 PM

just get an 18 or 19'' regular A Custom crash

Brandwhore 09-03-2006 09:56 PM

what about projections? would i be a complete dumbass to have an 18 inch fast crash and an 18 inch projection?

HeLLmO 09-03-2006 10:12 PM

you wouldn't be a dumb ***, but, IMO the regular A Custom(which is medium weight) sounds alot better than the projection(which i belive is a heavier weight)

Drum Phil 09-03-2006 10:16 PM

I have a K Custom fast crash and an AAXplosion (almost the equivalent to the projection crash) and they go really well together

Aaron 09-03-2006 10:43 PM
What is a good ride to pair with a 22" K Heavy Ride. I have a 20" crash so i DONT want a crash-ride, something with a bit of wash but complex. Not brand specific, i don't mind.
I've decided; I went to a music store that stocks alot of cymbals and bashed around on about forty-five. I'm going to shortly buy the 20" HHX Legacy Ozone Ride as my second ride. Beautiful, almost china-like cinnamon-toned cymbal. Complex and tasty with an edge of sweetness running through it. I'm in love, oh yes, i'm in love.

We_Love_Lime 09-03-2006 10:55 PM

Nice choice Aaron.
My drum dude has the Ozone Crash and it is oh so oh so nice.

Aaron 09-03-2006 11:39 PM

I looked at the Ozone Crash, and if they did a traditionally finished hand-hammered version I'd go it. I think it'd improve it muchly.

We_Love_Lime 09-03-2006 11:44 PM

Do you?
I wouldn't know...

Aaron 09-04-2006 12:53 AM

Make it trashier.

enishi 09-04-2006 04:21 AM

im getting another crash, size 18,
what crash can go along with my 18" K custom dark and 16" Avedis
im thinking of 18" A custom
i play funk/rock

i believe regular A customs are thin

A custom
A custom projection
A custom mediums

Drum Phil 09-04-2006 05:45 AM

Aye it goes:

Fast crash (paper thin)
Custom crash (thin)
Projection crash (medium thin)
Medium crash (medium)

HeLLmO 09-04-2006 06:53 AM

really? hmm, i would have expected the projection crash to be heavier

Drum Phil 09-04-2006 06:59 AM

Nope projections are the same weight as AAXplosions

18" K Custom Fast Crash

We_Love_Lime 09-04-2006 08:49 PM

CIE Vintage perhaps too as well.

Aaron 09-04-2006 08:54 PM

was thinking that too, but rock needs a clearer sound. still would be cool for an older style of funk [ie meters]

enishi 09-04-2006 10:40 PM
18" K Custom Fast Crash
why is that?

models here are very limited.
they sell only some of K customs,Acustoms,A,zbt, zxt, aax,aa,HHX,

Aaron 09-05-2006 06:22 AM

Well its not completely clean and crisp, so it wont stand out, but its abit louder and brighter than the others but not by too much to be out of place. think HHX

We_Love_Lime 09-05-2006 06:56 AM

Yeah, but it being 18 might make it project more, and I don't know.
They're just amazing cymbals so heh...

boss 09-05-2006 07:56 PM

i have a 16 and 18" HHX stage crash and a 20" AAX stage crash

i need something that will make a smooth transition between the 18 and 20

thanks!

Drum Phil 09-05-2006 07:59 PM

18" HHX power crash?

Brighter and more powerful than the HHX stage but less so than the AAX
