i mentioned this in the problems / suggestions thread but anyway...

would anyone like to do a 100 greatest frontmen thing, like the songs / albums / guitarists thing? i would do it after this guitarists thing has finished but i dont really have time, what with school etc....although theres a 2 week easter holiday in 2 weeks so i may be able to do it then, unless someone else wants to do it?

Good news fellas. I finally got word back from Statue Records. They sent us the contract and a list of things we need to send back with it. By the end of the week my band will be signed under their label.

nice. what sort of music do you play?

Blues rock, kind of classic feeling.

and yes i know this is MUSICIAN forums, but there is not rule saying you need to play an instrument to register here.

i have a band, you can listen to it if u like, its got a basket and bells and rings and things to make it look good.

This contract gets worse and worse the more I read. I'm not sure the band is going to like this anymore than I currently am the way these claims to rights are going in this.

Basically, they claim all rights to your band and music, yet contradictorily state that the artist retains all rights to their music. Confused yet? Me too. Also, they state if you want to be included on the promotional section of their website, you need to include a payment of $100. However, if you decline, you lose about half your production rights.

Also, some further investigation into the label (I grew suspicious when I realized the contract is riddled with typos and tends to repeat itself every three clauses) revealed that several bands have been ripped off by them. So, onward we march towards new possibilities.
