he also banned a band from a venue for saying slut in a song, and he doesn't even run the venue, he just books their shows

oh and a city safe from sea asked me to help them get a show at the venue he books for, i asked him about it, and then as soon as i linked him their music he stopped responding to both me and the band... basically means if you're not a cap'n jazz rip-off band or an unknown hardcore band, you can't play shows at this venue

I have problems with people calling girls sluts, but I'm really frustrated by people that can't accept other ideas. Venue issue aside, the dude has every right not to book them for his own personal and political reasons, but usually when someone takes such a hard stance against something they're likely to be making obvious hypocrites of themselves somehow and possibly just not booking the band to get cool guy PC punx cred.

Who says punks should stand for freedom of speech though? I'm really hesitant to ever say what punk or hardcore or "the scene" should be or what it is.

Punk is a genre of music. It's not been any type of idealogical movement for decades.
