I'd just sell it to someone for like $300 and say it doesn't start and they need to work on it. Someone will buy it. Don't actually mention that you've had it looked at multiple times and it actually is junk. Might as well get something for it.

A guy I meet at a festival told me he worked in a Tattoo parlour. One of the other guys who worked with him was a junkie. One day they managed to find something for the shop (a rare chair or something, I didn't understand) for real cheap (£180) on eBay. They bought it and without thinking sent the junkie on the 3 hour drive there to pick it up because they couldn't post it obviously. 6 hours later the guy comes back empty handed claiming the guy wouldn't give it to him. When they got in contact it turned out the junkie had tried to pay for the item with 180 pound coins.

so yeah, never trust a junkie.
