idk i use an electric one every day and it pretty much just keeps me at a fine stubble. my facial hair doesnt grow that fast to where its a problem with each new morning. then ill actually shave once every week or every other week or so.

nevertoolate 01-15-2010 02:38 PM
regular shaving just takes too much effort, it's not really that important to me so when i do it i don't want to spend 15+ minutes screwing around with stupid cream and end up with cuts all over my face
i gotta regularly shave so i use electric then i use a razor, it works better and your blades last for ages

masscows 01-15-2010 02:40 PM

lol

witchxrapist 01-15-2010 02:40 PM
I usually use an electric just to get things going and then use a regular razor (that neat one with 5 blades and the single precision blade on the back) to finish up because the electric never does the job completely.
see, if i have like a full on beard going on, ill shave it down to stubble with the sideburn trimmer on my electric razor i used to use in middle school, and then i'll shave from there
I consider myself a bit of an expert in consumer reports for standard razors as well:

Trac II
Excel
Mach 3
Quattro
Quattro Titanium
Fusion
Store Brand 3 and 5 blade systems

I use them all on different occasions. And I have handles for the Mach 3, Quattro, and Fusion in NY with me. I guess that's okay considering I can get any of the big three that's on sale or something.
The Fusion. Thats what I use. Sweet f'ing razor
see, if i have like a full on beard going on, ill shave it down to stubble with the sideburn trimmer on my electric razor i used to use in middle school, and then i'll shave from there
yeah same here, thats what I said, right?

Ideally, it's best to shave with a safety razor and shave paste that you apply with a beaver-brush, but even I'm not snooty enough for that (yet)

2muchket! 01-15-2010 02:42 PM

I prefer a wet shave.

Infact just shaved my beard today. Was difficult to shave it off because it was getting quite impressive.

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 02:42 PM

haha at razor banner ads on this page now

Tyler 01-15-2010 02:43 PM

i usually scissor a lot of the length off of my beard before it. then i use a trimmer when i can find it and then shave the rest off with a razor. takes ****ign forever, like, an hour sometimes.

i missed this post, yeah as i said, this is my routine too

Fusion Power ftw

Morumbar 01-15-2010 02:47 PM

For some reason my facial hair grows really fast, but not like a thick brush or something, so it looks like ****.

I hate my life.

No one understands me.

K, I'm off for tonight. Gonna play some cards with friends and down some beers.
Cheers.

masscows 01-15-2010 02:47 PM

I just trim then shave with my 2 in 1 electric razor, takes like 4-5 minutes tops

witchxrapist 01-15-2010 02:48 PM
You guys must all just have peach fuzz for hair then.
lolwut?

2muchket! 01-15-2010 02:50 PM

Think he means like the very first facial hair you get when your 14/15.

witchxrapist 01-15-2010 02:53 PM

ya thats what i have the electric razor for, but the sideburn trimmer part is really good for beard trimmage

2muchket! 01-15-2010 02:54 PM

I like a close shave so I just use a regular razor after I come out of the shower.

WHEN ALL MY PORES ARE OPEN N SHIIIIII

Against Miik! 01-15-2010 02:54 PM

This conversion is so ****ing cool

2muchket! 01-15-2010 02:56 PM

Hahaha yeah I know.

witchxrapist 01-15-2010 03:12 PM

thats why you use the electric razor to trim down the beard

Tyler 01-15-2010 03:15 PM
Fusion is okay, but it clogs too easily. And it's not the closest shave either.

The first half of a shave with the Quattro is hella painful if you have three days' growth or more, and the nick guards clog, but it immediately becomes the most comfortable and closest shave of the big three. Just rinse it more often for optimal shaving performance.

And the Titanium is worth it for the precision trimmer.
but the trimmer on the titanium sucks

beans 01-15-2010 03:22 PM

none of those trimmers on the regular razors work

beans 01-15-2010 03:28 PM

i've always just used a separate trimmer to get my sideburns and to cultivate

witchxrapist 01-15-2010 03:47 PM

lol iirc you have ill chops?
