We have a few cops on campus and we have drug dogs at our school. We also have random drug testing and random metal detector checks.

But it's not as bad as an inner city school, at least.
i thought random drug testing was illegal?

They do this trucky thing in registration where they ask if they have the right to drug test your child if needed and most parents sign yes...I don't know what parents wouldn't. So then they pull this thing in the middle of the year saying the district schools are having serious drug problems and they begin the random tests because they have parental consent.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 03-28-2006 08:11 PM

How could they possibly find that effective? Drug tests are not cheap...
Hey guys!

Me and my pal are planning a roadtrip. He's friends with the band Dr. Acula or something from Long Island, and we're going to try to shack up with the bassist or something. We're hoping to stay away from our home for the entire summer, and hang around NY, Jersey, Penn, Boston, and wherever else looks like it would be an awesome place to hear some music. (tips and ideas are welcome here)

Kentucky blows and we want to get out there and see what it's like to be part of a real scene, not the gay shiz going on here. We are both morons and newb drivers, but we're determined and desperate, so anyone got experience with this sort of thing and got some pointers for us? Or maybe somebody here would let us stay a night or two with them if they are along the way or near a good scene.

This summer I'm going to spend my time starving and driving, but it's going to rule.
Come to Pointless Fest and this other huge hardcore fest in Philly.

No announcements about Pointless Fest, but the other one is August 18-20.

I don't think we'll be around in August, since he has to get back to school, and I got to get down to Florida and get a job, lol. if you get any info about that Pointless Fest, make a thread or something. I won't notice if you post it here.

Yo, Wizard sometimes we have a nice festival here in Hudson (neighboring town) at the local venue (a roller rink). Thats where all the shows are held, but the festival was pretty sweet last year. Nothin else to say really.

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:10 PM

Ridglea Metal Fest is May 6th. Nothing huge, but Balls Out, Hands Of The Few, Bitter End, Will To Live, and Go It Alone will be playing.

kingdead 03-28-2006 09:11 PM

Is the US getting the Cro-Mags AoQ reunion?

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:14 PM

If I wanted to see some jaded old dudes playing music I would head down to the Fort Worth Stock Yards and see them for free.

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:18 PM

Yeah, it's gonna be fun, those bands are gonna be on the 3rd stage which is the size of a garage so it'll be intense.

Matt? 03-28-2006 09:19 PM

wish i lived in texas

Damn, I wish I could be there.

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:21 PM

I love it but not because of the music or anything. I mean we have good bands but tours tend to miss Dallas a lot and it seems like every tour is f'ucking up before they get here.

Set Your Goals got jacked
Sinking Ships didn't show
Blacklisted dropped

But whatever, I'm just looking forward to Tragedy then Chaos In Tejas.

kingdead 03-28-2006 09:21 PM
You have no intentions of helping a band out when you say that s'hit, you really wanna help them out, email them and let them know how you feel about the music if you wanna be constructive. And if you don't like it, then turn it off and just leave it at that. I don't see how this is so hard for some people.
Was just asking a question doofus.

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:22 PM

But I hate you. So it's okay.

kingdead 03-28-2006 09:24 PM

I dont value you enough to hate you.

faith and fiction 03-28-2006 09:26 PM

I'm just waiting for my value to decrease past the point of having you converse with me.

NewKindofArmy03 03-28-2006 09:34 PM

I wish I could go to Chaos in Tejas. My friend is going down for it.
